    Good Points: Clear, crisp crosshairs.
    Fairly wide enlargement range.


    Bad Points: None.


    General comments: I own a Simmons Deerfield (39x40) and it is an awesome Riflescope.

    I've used other scopes with 3-9x40 and they have all performed better than the Simmons Deerfield 39 x 40 Riflescope.

    The main problem with this unit is it's apparently very poor flexibility when it comes to varying the range of close and distant shooting.

    I know I shouldn't expect too much from a non PX adjustable scope but when limited to only targeting accurately at distances in excess of 30yrds it seems a poor choice IMO. Any closer than this and you just start to find that the reticul ...

    As this was the first telescopic sight I had ever used, I was a little apprehensive about mounting and setting up. I needn't have worried. I soon had the scope on my brand new BSA Hornet and was making holes in just the right places on the test target. It wasn't until a few weeks later that I learned how to adjust the focus for the cross hairs. My aim dramatically improved thereafter.
