Bonaparte, Hornchurch, has good atmosphere, great food, good service..My family and I dine here whenever we have an excuse.. birthdays, anniversaries etc. Our 10 year old son chose a meal here as his birthday treat! I was so impressed that I organised my staff Christmas lunch at Bonapartes, which was fantastic. The owner and staff are friendly and efficient, and it's great not to have to travel far for an authentic french meal.

First time visit to Bonaparte, Hornchurch to celebrate a 21st Birthday. There was 25 of use and cannot fault the service we received. Nothing was too much trouble, food arrived quickly no one was left waiting while others eating. Well run and very organised. WELL DONE to all concerned.

Bonaparte has an authentic french concept, its decor and atmosphere have the resemblance of traditional french life, giving it a unique and specifically cosy feeling. Pleasingly it's owned by a cultured french family, which is especially helpful to myself as I'm a student studying french, they were providing and enjoyably participating in conversation. The service was moderately quick, and a weekly menu was provided which was idiotically cheap for the choice of food. I ate off this menu, firstly ...

Blink and you miss this French restaurant in the heart of Hornchurch. So I entered this abode with trepidation but after the initial hiccup of a cold table the evening just evolved into one excellent experience. All the food we ordered was of a very high standard, the house wine sold by the carafe was extremely palatable and the staff could not have been more helpful. Indeed we were the last to leave! My only regret is that this restaurant has been in Hornchurch for 10 years and I have just ...

On entering the restaurant the staff were very friendly and the setting was relaxed and ambient. Sadly the food was a massive let down, as this was the worst meal I have had in a very long time. I thought the food was completely tastless, especially the red mullet, that bizarrely came served in a piece of tin foil. The chocolate sauce on the dessert had an awful after taste, that was not pleasant in the slightest. The best part about the food was the bread!! I was hugely disappointed, as this re ...

I have visited Bonaparte's on several occassions, from lunch to Saturday evening and most recently on Christmas Day. I have to agree the resturant is indeed a little piece of France landed in Hornchurch.
The staff are always helpful and the owner seems to be always around to welcome and chat to customers, a real rustic charm. I have waited too long on occassions for service, but the food has always been very good...and an occassional drink on the house helps pass the time!
If you were in Franc ...

It's refreshing to find a genuine French family run restaurant thriving amidst a great number of the usual chain type eateries. The food here is always excellent, as is the service. The owner really understands French wine, and his chef really understands French Cuisine. Both traditional and modern. The Bonaparte restaurant in Hornchurch has a wonderful atmosphere, enhanced by original French art pieces and genuine French staff.

I was a bit apprehensive about the Bonaparte restaurant in Hornchurch, as I have never tried French food before. I've got to say, I was incredibly surprised at how well presented the place was. It made me feel like I was actually in France. The service was impeccable! The menu was a bit reserved; mainly fish, beef and lamb, but they know what they are doing with it. I started off with the smoked salmon with toast, which according to my companion was the best bit of salmon she had ever tried. She ...
