My Partner and i visited the establishment on a sunday afternoon. It was fairly early and as a result the place was not by any means full, yet we were seated by a noisey table of screaming children, despite the fact we could have been seated anywhere. Eventually we got up and re-seated ourselves. The food was bland and tasteless. We shared fishcakes to start and they had clearly come out of a deep fat fryer. I had the seafood risotto for main, it felt like someone had emptied the contents of a rockpool into a bowl of half cooked rice. My partner had a veal escalope that was ridiculously huge. It was greasey, tasteless and horrid. The spaghetti could well have come out of a tin. To top it off everything seemed to be stuffed seemed to be stuffed into these odd lettuce leaves. side salds stuffed in there. tartare sauce stuffed in there - it was hideous and unattractive. I would have complained but really wanted to get out of there and forget this horrendous dining experience.

First visit. Lively, busy, very noisey.

Food was better than a 'themed restaurant' and varied selection.

    Service was fair, Waiters fair.

    Maybe a bit pricey.

Good service, fantastic food, superb location, great choices on menu, wonderful staff and Caffe Unico is the best Italian restaurant in the area.
It is without doubt money well spent and service that is not to be compared. 10 stars!!!

The food is to die for. Cooked perfectly, served on time. Any probs it's rectified within a few moments. You're given time to enjoy, digest and savour and it is without doubt a lovely meal out.

Recommend for starters the "Prawn Cocktail" or "Mushroom", Main the ...

arrived at Caffe Unico Ltd as a group of 10 people and an infant for a birthday celebration. Staff were friendly and efficient. Very family orientated restaurant. Food choices were good (had starter and main) and accommodated 2 vegetarians. Quality of food was good and servings were generous. Restaurant was clean and spacious. Pricing was average. Overall experience was good and would certainly eat here again

Last review glowing - However if there had been a complaint,
as reviewer July 2007 who did not want to make a fuss at the time and spoil the enjoyment of his guest wonder how this would have been dealt with. At our lunch one choice of main course was inedible and it was decided to write later for the same reason. . Three consecutive letters were written and Caffe Unico Ltd did not have the courtesy to even acknowledge let alone deal with the complaint. We will not return.

When I telephoned to the Cafe Unico restaurant in Epping the following day to give them the opportunity of making some good-will gesture, the manager refused to do so, as my family had not made sufficient fuss at the time of the incident.
I told him that he should have been grateful that they been kind enough to leave without making a fuss.
My 10 year old granddaughter had her evening spoiled with no apparent concern from them.

My girlfriend and I visited Caffe Unico just by Woodford station on a Wednesday - hardly a busy night - and we were disgusted by the poor level of service we got. Honestly, it was a joke. I've never written a review before, but I am now showing how strongly I feel that this needs to be reported.

For starters, upon entering Cafe Unico we were left standing for a few minutes before someone could be bothered to seat us. There are probably around 40 tables in total, the majority being 2 seater ...

It is one of the two restaurants in Epping offering Italian food. Originally, before a local hotel sold it's dining area to the Prezzo franchise, the restaurant was the only place in town serving up Italian fayre. Due to this, and the fact it suits large parties as well as couples, it has been enormously successful. Although, this success it seems has become its burden, as it receives continually bad reviews in the local press.

The menu at Caffe Unico is extensive, and offers an array of pas ...

Cafe Unica is a lovely family run restaurant, with great helpful staff and friendly service. The last time I went in it was with a friend and our 2 children still in prams. We were not shoved right at the back as sometimes happens. We where given a lovely window seat on a table, with plenty of room for the buggies.

Caffe Unico Ltd is a family run restaurant which is very good value, the food is always fresh and beautifully cooked. The staff are friendly and love children. The menu is huge and there are always half a dozen specials, the boss Gusepi runs the restaurant like the godfather and is well respected. It's a shame there are not more restaurants like unico. New restaurant opening soon in Woodford which I can't wait to visit

Caffe Unico Ltd in Epping? Forget it. Go to the Indian or Chinese, or, if you're feeling flush go to the Clock Tower. Epping if not good for food.
