LDV Convoy are very solid trucks, I use them as tippers so are usually over the weight limit. If you can tie something to it, it will pull it towing, a 10 ton jcb is about the biggest load. Parts are expensive and badly manufactured from main dealer but as it has transit running gear they can be obtained elsewhere. The gear ratios are not the best thought out. I would not change these trucks with the york engine for the world, they make the imports and the transit rust buckets look worthless. I would recommend these trucks to anyone but you need to be able to repair them yourselves as that's when the money starts.

I recently bought a 2003 model for £2400 with 1 previous owner (Royal Mail) and only 21000 miles. Bought it off eBay from a guy who has a spare parts business. He bought it from an auction where big companies sell old vehicle fleets, don't know which auction house, somewhere near east of Thames near the sea. Immaculate condition throughout. Was used to drop off and pick up posties and their bicycles so wasn't used as a work horse to deliver parcels etc. Has only 8 seats including driver s ...

The LDV Convoy is a great overall minibus for everyday use. Strong reliable spacious does great even with full 16 passengers, able to comfortably travel anywhere, steep hills, downhills, tight streets, motorways, no problems, solid driver experience.

Highly recommended. Affordable to buy, mine is ex-MOD and very low mileage. Being used to older vans this Convoy is a dream to drive, glided across France, Spain and Portugal, and averaged 31 mpg on one 300 mile run. Great space inside especially ability to stand up, pays for itself with being good work horse. No problems so far.

Generally an extremely good workhorse. Gives great commanding position for driving - engine provides plenty of power.

For getting a bunch of people anywhere cost effectively, the LDV Convoy is the minibus to choose. The Convoy uses Ford Transit turbo diesel engines and running gear and as such parts are easy to find and pretty cheap. Don't let the relatively low power output put you off as the engine delivers bundles of torque low down. Although not exactly a boy racer van, it will sit reasonably happy at 70 on the motorways.

Basicaly if your looking at moving 16 people from A to B then this LDV Convoy Mini Bus is what your after, no frills just space. Noisy and its thirsty but what the hell. National car rental/Avis/Burntree all cant be wrong.
