“A cracking little find”

I was in Colchester visiting certain regiments we supply to and was at a bit of a loss as to where to eat. I was sick of the usual suspects and thought I'd try something local(ish) so I asked at the B&B I was staying at. A quick call ahead (unnecessary real during the week) to get a table and I was at a lovely little Italian restaurant in the middle of Colchester. The food was absolutely great. Can definately recommend this 42 North Hill restaurant. - Had our staff Christmas party here and everyone said how wonderful it was. Interior is a bit out of date, but who cares about that when the food is absolutely fabulous! (read more)

It is a proper local Italian restaurant, offering good value for money and fresh food. Easy and quick access from the very centre of town.

42 North Hill has a relaxed, sometimes lively atmosphere. The food is always good, the service is always friendly and the prices are not too heavy on the pocket. (read more)

42 North Hill was incredibly disappointing. The staff are quite blatant about their lack of interest in customer satisfaction- This establishment is there to make money, not provide good food. This goal is portrayed to an excellent standard by the owner, who when told that A, the order was wrong, b, the pasta was bland, and c, that the waiter seemed uninterested, just snapped. (read more)
