“2015 FE160 AND OTHER FUSO MODELS ”

Written on: 05/12/2014 by atWeaver1 (1 review written)

I found that they're new 2014/2015 models have gotten a lot better. Their transmissions have minimal problems for a light duty truck and are out of the shop a lot longer than the previous models for example 2011-2013. I would recommend going for a test drive in a newer unit just to see the difference in the new powertrain… Read Full Review

“Amazing Improvement”

Written on: 11/09/2014 by Jensenv360 (1 review written)

Heard some things about the Fuso that set me back on purchasing. I own a 2011 which has been okay, purchased a 2015 and its a whole different machine. Better power, more responsive and absolutly no transmission issues. YET. Keeping my fingers crossed, but you can definatly tell even the transmission seems smoother and runs cooler… Read Full Review

“THESE TRUCKS ARE A NIGHTMARE!!!!”

Written on: 07/08/2014 by AddisonBurgess (1 review written)

I own 28 trucks of various sizes, 10 of which are Fuso's. The first 6 I bought were all 2008 or earlier FG140's which have held up alright. The last 4 I bought have all been lemons. One problem after another. Two FE 180's and two FE 160's. Impossible to keep all four on the road at once. Full engine replacement on two of them. Oil overfilling all the time. DPF problems. You name it. I will never buy another FUSO!… Read Full Review

I absolutely concur with this review. Before 2008, our Fuso diesels were relatively trouble-free. The post-2008 models are a complete disaster for any company that depends on its fleet for daily operations on a time-critical schedule. We cannot afford to have drivers suddenly compelled to pull off the road quickly to run a manual DPF regeneration that usually takes at least 30-45 minutes. Why the system could not be built with a pre-DPF-regen warning that the cycle would be due for regen soon, and that would allow an elective regen to be run anytime thereafter, before the warning light even comes on is beyond comprehension. The engineers at Mitsubishi must get paid by the hour, because they obviously spent very little time thinking about the design of this system. Horror show.

“Perfect for our use”

Written on: 31/05/2014 by EarthCruiser (1 review written)

We have a reasonable amount of experience with the FUSO FG 4x4 platform. Our company builds the EarthCruiser 4x4 campers and expedition vehicles here in the US. We also have a manufacturing facility in Australia, using the FG. Our experience has been great, our local dealer ( Redmond Or) was new to the product and has done we think an out standing job of getting up to speed with parts and service. The camper application is well suited to the FG in our opinion - more chassis re estate to work… Read Full Review

“HORRIBLE TRUCKS! STAY AWAY!”

Written on: 19/07/2013

I OWN 10 MITSUBISHI FUSOS. 2007 and 2008 FG 140's, 2008 FE160 and 180, 2010 and 2012 FE180. My first 6 trucks were all FG140's and seemed to be great trucks. Haven't had many problems with them. But the 2010 and 2012 FE series has been a nightmare! They're in the shop almost more than they are on the road for an endless list of problems. Simple codes turn into complete transmission, injector, or head gasket replacements! I've had 2 engines completely replaced. Almost everything has been… Read Full Review

I am with you. I purchased a NEW 2012 FE FUSO truck. It has had 5 transmission in a year and the 6th one scheduled to be replaced. Yes it hs been covered under warranty, but I need my truck on the road not in the repair shop. I tried to trade it in, but no one wants it. Not even the FUSO dealer I bought it from. There are too many known problems with transmissions, computers, fuel systems. What are you to do? Cannot use the truck because it is in the shop, cannot sell or trade it, no one will take it. I am at my wits ends and do not know where to turn.

“2012 Mitsubishi Canter: Disaster!”

Written on: 02/05/2013 by Adamspiano.com (1 review written)

Dear Mitsubishi, I was very happy with the 1993, 1999, and 2006 Fuso box trucks owned in the past. I very much enjoyed the late 1980's Plymouth Laser front-drive(Eclipse), early nineties all wheel drive eclipse, mid-nineties all wheel drive eclipse, 2000(new body style) Eclipse GT, and 2003(?) Eclipse GTS. And my wife, at the time, enjoyed her 4 cylinder Gallant, 5 speed, and later, V6 Gallant, auto. And I loved my late 1980's Mitsubishi 4 Cyl pickup! But regarding my 2012… Read Full Review

“Worst truck purchase ever!!!!”

Written on: 04/04/2013 by bonzo1 (1 review written)

My 2012 fe160 is one year old. It is in the shop awaiting its fourth transmission. The last one lasted for all of 94 miles before it died. It has been in the shop for a least one month of the 12 I have owned it. Besides the tranny problems the DEF system has been replaced twice, the passenger seat has had to be replaced and the cab latch has been replaced. As you might imagine I would not recommend this truck to anyone. I am very sorry that I am stuck with this thing!… Read Full Review

“'12 Mitsubishi FE160 Canter”

Written on: 29/01/2013 by Barton207 (1 review written)

What a complete waste of a truck. We have had the truck go into limp mode for DEF injection problems 3 times and have to be towed to the dealer. We are also now going on our 3rd transmission because of improper programming supposedly. I am really close to filing suit to recoop lost time and production. Our company had owned these trucks for years and up until this one had no serious problems. This will be the last Mitsubishi myslef or our company will ever buy… Read Full Review

Rodneymacd's Response to Barton207's Review

Written on: 31/01/2013

Hello sir, I myself purchased a 2012 canter in June 2012, and have a lot of trouble with the duonic gearbox. I am on my third gearbox. They have also replaced various turbo sensors and a injector. The truck is still very gutless and it is as if the turbo is not spooling and/or the injectors are not functioning correctly . The gearbox is still no good . I am having a battle with the dealer and am asking for a full refund or a manual replacement as I want this truck gone. Just thought we could compare stories

Harwoodjim's Response to Barton207's Review

Written on: 28/06/2013

I also own a FE 160 and it is an ongoing nightmare. I have replaced two injectors a DEF tank and and a host of other parts that I am not familiar with. The transmission reacts so slowly that it scares the hell of me any time I have to accelerate after slowing down in heavy traffic and if I am in drive it will likely still be in a high gear and there will be no reaction at all. The worst thing is that any time the check engine lite comes on the DEF warning lite follows and the cycle begins that will lock the transmission in first gear. Trying to regenerate does nothing. The only solution is a tow truck. My truck has been towed to the dealership four times.

I work for a company that rents these awful trucks & they are in the shop more than on the road. Our customers are not very happy because they are always breaking down. I have the same problem with the check engine light, def regeneration not working properly, engine syst. warning lights..etc. Same goes for the transmissions. They go to the shop for repairs only to have them go back after a very shot time for the same damn problems. They are the worst trucks I have ever had to deal with besides the International 4300 series which are not much better, but that's another story.

“2008 Fuso Canter”

Written on: 24/10/2012 by Lroy2103 (1 review written)

I've owned two of these macjines and found them to be both reliabble & hard working! With only 154,000 k's on one and 112,00 k's on the other has made a difference but they both have been working on multi drop work for the last 4+ years! Average 16.5 MPG and only problem I've ever had was the clutch exploded due to driver error! Just drove the new 160 manual and it drives really well! Have been pleased with them and was thinking of replacing them with two new 160 manuals ANY… Read Full Review
