“Never again!”

Written on: 08/02/2013

Just moved to the area and thought we would try out our local Indian takeaway. Placed the order on the telephone and was told to collect an hour later. Went to pick up our food and they said we hadn't placed an order are you sure you didn't order Chinese!!!! Said they didn't have our order so I returned home to check what telephone number I had rung to make sure it was the right Indian I'd called and rung back the number - it was indeed Nirvana. Said do you want to re order (NO!!) Waste of... (read more)

“Awful!”

Written on: 22/05/2012

Worst Indian restaurant I've ever been to. Food was poor.burnt Nan breads. Even the dips for pompodoms were awful. But worst of all was the service. Rude & clueless. Gave us brandy's on house but didn't even ask first. Told us house white was a sauvignon blanc ,it was chardonnay! How people have rated this top marks I will never know! (read more)

“Lovely ruby”

We have been going here for 25 years and thoroughly enjoy the food service and quirkiness of the place. I did prefer it with the flock wallpaper and the fish pond though. My children now eat there more than my wife and I, but we still visit occasionally. (read more)

“Great restaurant! Highly reccommended.”

Written on: 30/11/2011 by JanSM (1 review written)

I was surprised to read any bad reviews of the Nirvana. Those people must have been really unlucky. As regulars we have always found the food and the service excellent. The waiters make great suggestions to help us. They are attentive, but we have never found them pushy. I think the fact that we see so many people eating there regularly speaks for itself. As a semi, regualr user of this resturant I can't fault it. Only once in a year did I have a dish I didn't like and they changed it without question.

The food is excelant and the staff are all great. If you live outside the area its worth traveling to. I live 15 miles away but I've never regreted the drive.

My favourate dish (not on the menu) is a Chicken Tikka Tandori Bongau. Magic! (read more)

We always get our take-aways from here and the food is as good as you get when dining in the restaurant. The food is always excellent (we have never had a disappointing meal yet!) It is nice to sample some different dishes - the panir shashlik is heavenly!

Would thoroughly recommend to anyone. (read more)

Cannot select 0 stars on this site !!!
whilst menu has good choice and the food reasonable the service and attention to detail of the staff is shocking. booked table for 7.30, starter served after 9 (and wrong). main course - arrived cold (skin had formed on sauce). deserts - not all items available. coffee and teas (tea served as teabag in cup of hot water) took another 20 minutes to arrive. Place seemed very popular but do not understand how. Not just us grumbling - table next to us... (read more)

Written on: 27/06/2009 by hungrycolin

Nirvana Indian Cuisine is our local indian restaurant and the best in the area. We've tried others only to come away disappointed. The food is excellent and more varied than the usual Korma, madras, vindaloo etc. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. The decor is modern and there is a car park at the rear (that takes some finding). (read more)

If you want quality and well thought out dishes in a nice atmosphere, with decent service, then you must try Nirvana Indian Cuisine in Ingatestone. Don't go for the normal Korma or CTM. Try one of their special dishes; it's well worth it! (read more)

The food is at a reasonable price and tastes great I have been to many other resturants and the food has been oily but in Nirvana the food is much healthier. The staff are very friendly to you and children. Every dish has it's own flavor. The carpark is at the rear and is very safe. Sunday buffet is the best thing about the resturant! (read more)
