It was meant to be a birthday celeratory meal so we heard about 'The old Windmill' and booked a table. We arrived at the allocated time, and were told that our table was still being set, and were asked to get a drink and wait in the bar. So we did, and we waited and waited. 25mins later we were shown to our table. When seated we were informed that there were items not available - sea bass, salmon and duck spring rolls. Another 40min later someone eventually came along to take our order.
Our starters arrived and away we went.... there was very little bread, and was stale and the pate was hard like cardboard. We order some drinks and we asked for a red "wine of the month", when the drinks arrived we were given a bottle of white - not quite what we asked for !! eventually it got rectified. Nearly 50 mins later our main course arrived and when they did items were missing, steak over cooked and grissly, and a pudding that was very hard with the filling warm. With waiting staff no where to be seen we sat and waited, and waited. When they turned up we told them of our issues they apologised and offered as consolation free desserts.
Our tables were cleared and dessert menus distributed, and yet again we waited. After 30mins one of group got up and went in search of staff and went in to the kitchen to find staff washing up and drying cutlery. When our desserts arrived there were still items missing and after we pointed them out we were told that they had run out of the items. Not a good evening and a birthday meal ruined !
