was insured to ride my 600 Trail bike last year. This year I wanted to insure a different bike instead. I ignored the “invite” for the Trail bike because I knew that I was not going to use it this year (and after all it is an invite). When I called to insure my different bike, they said “We will transfer the remaining money from the Trial bike to this new policy”. It transpired that they had insured the Trail bike anyway... They said “it is in our terms and conditions sir”. I now have...

They seem to employ all of the insurance industries worst tricks. 1) Auto renewal.. they don't tell you when you take out the policy but they will automatically take whatever they fancy out of your account for the next year. It is in the small print that is sent to you after you have taken the policy out. They really took the p1ss with me and charged nearly twice what anyone else wanted. 2) Huge admin fees. I got charged £30 for cancelling my policy. They also charge £25 for just updating details...

Had a XR250 and wanted to change to Husqvarna 510. "your insurer won't cover this bike" so I had to cancel and get new policy. When you cancel there is a £30 admin fee and then they give you a percentage of remaining cover back. This works out at a pittance of want was originally paid. I then sold my Husky had policy for 6 months and it cost £220. I got back £3. Yes £3. This is a complete con. Every time you change a bike it so happens that the insurer that you were with doesn't do that model...

My lovely bike was nicked, never going to be returned. Bennetts couldn't have dealt with it better. Polite, professional, paid up the full amount in the very reasonable time stated. New bike, bit of a steep admin charge to cover the change - but no more than most from what I hear. At renewal time, a huge rise in the premium, almost 3 times the cheapest on compare the cat, and with Bennetts, you have to positively cancel, so it feels like they're trying it on. Overall, pleased with the service, but...

When Bike was stolen, Bennetts gave the wrong address to Police - result was a long delay in recovering bike and also a hefty charge from the recovery company. Theyve claimed I entered the wrong adress, but provided no evidence and also the Recovery company and Bennetts have given me different versions of the incorrect address. I dont even know why they would have provided this address in any case as its not the address the bike was registered to. All very frustrating....

If it is brand new I'd say its a steal! I paid $16,000 for mine with a backrest added and befroe tax and tag. With the economy the way its been for the last few years and the fact most Americans either want a fast sport bike or a huge cruiser the DN01 didn't sell very well. Personally I think that is a shame as it is a really nice ride packed with top line technology. It has its negatives, like a too low windscreen, but nothing that can't be dealt with.Enjoy your ride!

I insured my triumph with Bennetts over the internet and received notification to supply no claims discount proof by email, I thought this unusual as they can get this off the insurers database. After a couple of weeks they reminded me that I hadn't sent it in and said they would cancel my policy if I didn't send it in within 7 days so I emailed it straight away but I missed the t from the email address and it bounced. Insuranceguru, you're missing the point they cancelled my policy and charged me 200 quid for the privilege after 3 weeks, if you think thats okay you must be working for an insurance company, but you can't be, because you haven't heard of the claims and underwriting exchange where all no claims details can be verified.

First off i work in insurance, second off, how does CUE no the number of years NCD you have?? the NCD is held by the broker, not the underwriter, and not the Claims Exchange! Otherwise it would be called the No-Claims and underwriting exchange!! lol My point is Bennetts are a Bussiness, and if you are not going to check and double check things before you click send, then this my friend is going to continue happening to you, no matter which company you are dealing with!
