“Brilliant”

Written on: 27/10/2013 by sophs009008 (1 review written)

Breaston Equestrian Center was the best riding stables I went to. Unfortunately it shut down, you don't realize what you have until you've lost it. I started of in the beginners group and I made my way up to the standard, then the intermediate. I even had a couple of lessons in the advance group. All in the space of 2 years how good is that. I always rode in a group and I know that some places have really bad group lessons but there was only (at the absolute most) 6 of us in the group. The… Read Full Review

I know it has shut down but I have only just got round to writing a review. Lovely ponies that Won't do anything cheeky so perfect for a riding school with novice riders. Althought Sue and her team weren't as impressive as they werent as friendly. But ignoring that fact, Breaston Equestrian Centre gave me a couple of fun years riding!… Read Full Review

Written on: 29/03/2011

I rode at Breast Equestrian centre for many years and left some time ago. My experience wasn't that brilliant although there were some good and enjoyable moments.
Although the lessons were detailed and challenging with good content I found that there was a group of people (incidentally most of whom have written the "good" reviews on here) who were a clique within the equestrian centre and who got preferential treatment over everybody else. They were the ones who, while I was at the centre were… Read Full Review

Written on: 10/11/2010

I have read some comments about horses 'misbehaving' and can I just add - THEY ARE ANIMALS! Have you never seen horses misbehave with top 4* riders? That is why people learn to ride, to achieve control and a partnership with the horse. Horses only 'misbehave' when the RIDER is incapable. Breaston offers high quality teaching for all levels, from learning to ride, to competing nationally and internationally. Breaston is different from other schools as they do try to teach you to ride, not just… Read Full Review

Written on: 03/10/2010

Breaston is a great stables were everybody is welcome. Yesterday I was at the active riding club they do and I fell off for the first time. Everybody was so supportive to me and mum who was anxiously watching. Even though there are not that many ponys there is Flyn,Gem,Sparkie,Rosie,Ruby,Squirrel,Babs and Libby (who threw me off). But dont worry all the ponys are different and you will only be put on a pony which suits you. By the way i dont know to much about the horses but what i do know is… Read Full Review

Written on: 26/07/2010 by Bestest (1 review written)

I started riding at 30 something years old at Breaston. A few years later, I have 3 horses, hunt, compete at BD and showjumping and am bringing on my first home bred youngster who promises to be a superstar. If you want to sit on a horse and have an amble round then maybe I wouldnt recommend Breaston EC but if you want to learn to ride properly then I can't fault Sue and her team… Read Full Review

breaston is good riding school and the tuition is good but i stopped going as i found that the livery's had priority over us minions, the active riding club is good but again the livery's had priority i also found if u rode one of the livery's horses and they were watching off putting even though they don't actually own them they seem to think they do.its a riding school that is why i went, to LEARN to ride… Read Full Review

I found this review not helpful because... it's not true. Livery people don't have priority and they don't act like they own the horses at all! And they have a right to watch if they would like to!!!! And anyway what does it matter if they watch. When they were watching me when I was riding one of their horses it didn't matter.

Written on: 17/06/2010

I did enjoy riding for 5 years at Breaston Equestrian from 2003 - 2008 (age 11 to 16) until I got my own horses, the lessons are very good quality and the yard is relatively friendly. However, I found that the liveries could be fairly rude about the "non liveries" riding abilities. The instructors do rant and rave at you, and this can be quite daunting when you want to have a further explanation. HOWEVER, I would definately go back for competition schooling, as the yard is very competitive… Read Full Review

Written on: 06/04/2010 by amy94 (2 reviews written)

Breaston has offered me so much throughout the years i have been there. From being a tiny dot on a little pony being lead round learning to do rising trot, to competing nationally at British Eventing. This has only been possible due to the coaching i have recieved. Everyday i witness people progressing, not that they realise, as its only when you look back, do people realise their journey. Breaston has offered myself and plenty of others so much, only the words, 'Thank you',feel like they… Read Full Review

I found this review not helpful because... well the horses are well behaved it's the rider who lets the horse misbehave. And horses can spook sometimes it's not them being naughty, they could be scared

I found this review not helpful because...sorry to be rude but thats not true at all! All horses don't behave all the time, same with us humans we aren't all perfect are we? And of you got scared of something you would run away, they are only animals they don't know any better! tbh it's your fault if the horse misbehave because you let it, and i bet people asked you if you were okay after galloping off? beacuse we are all like a family and SUPPORT each other.

Written on: 03/08/2009

I have been riding at breaston equestrian center now for over 8 years. I thought when I arrived for my first lesson that i knew how to ride, how wrong i was. In the 8years my confidence and ability has built so that I can now confidently show jump, hack out and beach ride. This has all been down to sue. With her fantastic range of horses. The staff are great and always willing to help. The instruction and help you receive during lessons is excellent. I travel over 15 miles to get there and I… Read Full Review

A really nice ridng school. There are kind staff, horses and ponies. The horses are immaculatley clean and are all kind, gentle and very willing. There is an active riding club in which we do dressage working hunter and showjumping. There are 4 classes of different standards to make it fair. We all get a rosette even if we were placed. We are all encouraged it feels very welcoming.

The active riding club members can do a fantastic oneday event including dressage, showjumping and cross… Read Full Review

The staff are all really friendly and helpful. The horses and ponies are lovely to ride. There are some eaier ponies to ride like Rosie, Gem ect. but there are some more challenging like Libby And Sparkie. The horses are all very well cared for and are very willing to do as you ask (most of the time). One member of staff is a really good teacher and I have improved so much since I moved to Breaston Equestrian Centre. I would recommend this school to anyone that wants to learn to ride or has… Read Full Review
