I have been riding at Birchwood since April, having never ridden before. The staff are absolutely brilliant and really do instill confidence in me. I always feel I have achieved something at the end of my lesson and am about to start jumping after only 6 months. If you are thinking about learning to ride look no futher than Birchwood. You won't find any better. Kind, knowledgeable instructors. variety of horses, some easygoing , some not so!

In my opinion, Birchwood needs to get better staff that know how to teach - apart from a couple of good staff. The younger staff are ok in teaching beginners and younger children, but not for the more advance rider. But all in all i have never seen any misreatment of any of the horses and are all cared for very well. The staff are friendly, and jump night is an very enjoyable night.

Birchwood is a great yard for all riders all horses. The horses are fed according to there diet and the fitness and the pasture is a fair amount. Horses get along very well together. At the yard there is all breeds sizes colours. There's showjumpers, cross countries, dressage and all rounders. I think the price is fair you get everything you need for good prices. I've also learnt a lot from my lessons.

Very good yard to start riding, staffs with lots of help.
Even though there bit too much of lessons.
Ive kept my horse there almost 2 years, I wouldnt be doin what im doin now if they hadnt taught me.
Birchwood is perfect yard to give you confidence around the horses but if you want to move on higher level move to different stable. They are perfect for beginners nd novice riders.

I love birchwood. i really do its great and really helped me and my riding come on thanks to them i now have my own Horse and hes great i actually used to loan one there. Although its standards are great there are two downsides. The prices are way to high. Aside from that the place is great and i couldn't wish for a better stables, the horses there are great and kept busy. I LOVE YOU BIRCHWOOD EC.

My son always has a good time there rain or shine. The instruction is top notch and he is pushed gently to try something harder and more challenging which he enjoys.
The pony days are a lot of fun and the kids can put what they have learnt to use.
All in all out of all the centres I have visited this is the one for us even though we have to travel a distance to get there.
I work with people with autism some of them ride others do "Horse Care" learning about feeding (dietary needs) grooming etc ...

I've been going to Birchwood for nearly 5 years with people with Autism and I have seen a great change for the better in all of them. They have gained new skills. Not all ride but do "Horse Care" where they learn all aspects of caring for horses based on their individual ability.
Those who ride have have gained enough confidence to compete over the jumps. This was not thought possible but due to the foresight of the staff and their knowledge saw the potential of some of the riders. The patience ...

As a parent, who doesn't ride herself, i have been made to feel welcome and all methods of learning were explained to me at each stage. I look forward to going, just to watch the joy of my own child riding there.

I have been riding at this school for 2-3 years. I have recommended it to friends who now enjoy riding here as well. There is a great variety of horses for all shapes, sizes and ability's. If you are keen on dressage, jumping, or basic riding there is something for everyone (although hacks out are only on request). I have felt valued, encouraged and well supported. If I have had a particular interest or issue it has been discussed and acted upon.
Due to the popularity of this school you may hav ...

I have ridden at Birchwood for a number of years and have nothing but praise for the standard of lessons and quality of horses available to ride. The staff are very friendly, as are the people who ride with me in-class. Jump nights are fun and open to everybody. Reports that the horses have to continually jump all night are totally unfounded as I rush home every jump night to get to the yard early to book my favourite horse as she is only allowed to jump the course a limited number of times! So ...

I have ridden at Birchwood for a number of years and have only praise for the standard of lessons and the professional way the yard is run. The ponies are very well looked after. Last year the yard owner organised a stirrup -less ride and raised a large sum of money for a well known horse charity, proof that animal welfare is very important to her. Some of the owners actually work in veterinary surgeries and I'm sure due to the very nature of their jobs wouldn't keep there prized ponies on a y ...
