This is just to say thank you to all our clients who have ridden with us for many years, and to all the people who have written comments on this site for all to see. Due to ill health I have had to close the riding school, but our yard is still open and we still have full livery services run by my daughter Jaine. Thank you once again to you all. (read more)

Finlow is a great riding school. I love all the horses they all have really different personalities so it's fun having a different one each week. Horses well looked after and the girls are constanntly busy cleaning the stables and yard. Learnt to ride here and have been coming for over 5 years. Teachers have all been great, especially leanne. Love the whole setting and seeing all the wildlife surrounding menage. Really lovelly routes to take horses on a hack as close to the woods around the... (read more)

Finlow Hill Riding Stables is just simply brilliant! By far the best that i have EVER been to. Everyone is so welcoming, friendly and just like a family. I have learnt so must from there. The trainers are excellent to teach not only how to ride but what to do on the ground with a horse aswell, it is all at such a high standard! You get so much out of the lesson for your money! Safty is the number 1 priority there.
Thank-you so much for every thing that you have helped me achieve Pat,... (read more)

Such a shame Finlow is closing, i started riding there, and will never forget it, it is incredible, and not only do you learn to ride, but you learn all about the horse's needs and it tack. My instructor- Leanne, i would say was one of the nicest people i have ever met, she's so friendly and boosts your confidence x1234324875632847562384756. She is always cracking jokes and makes the lessons such fun. Katie and Joy are also lovely though! Such a nice environment. In reply to the first review... (read more)

A brilliant establishment with well cared for and turned out horses and facilities with very friendly and helpful staff. Its a great place to have a go at side saddle with fantastic teaching and a price that won't break the bank. A great experience with excellent value for money. Finlow Hill runs an excellent riding school program. The instructors work hard to make sure that you are always improving, and there is a wide range of horses to suit different riders and their abilities. The horses are kept to a high standard and the yard is very well run. There are also chances for hacks in the surrounding area and a set of cross country field jumps. Definitely worth ringing up and booking an introductory lesson. (read more)

I have been riding at Finlow Hill for four years! I have riden at numerous riding schools and although some are cheaper the tuition you receive is well worth the money! Finlow hill stables is an excellent riding school, I'm 13 years old and have made loads of friends my own age. The teachers are really nice and they hold lots of shows, many of which I have taken part in. I have had my pony there for 3 years and been riding there for an extra 3 years, overall I have been at Finlow Hill for 6 years. Very good value for money. The horses are well kept and customers are treated with the upmost respect. Very child friendly and I wouldn't go anywhere else!Good... (read more)

Absolutely wonderful place to ride, didn't ride here for long due to medical conditions, but for the few months I was there, I really enjoyed it. The staff were so helpful and pleasant, instructors had real knowledge and explained everything in detail that you didn't understand, a real can do attitude but not forcing you to do anything, also taught you all individually (in a group lesson) as well as just throwing commands out. Horses were very well kept and treated nicely. Also a great value... (read more)

Finlow Hill Stable Is a extremely child friendly facility, I've had my pony on livery their for about 3 years now and i have been riding since i was 7. I used to go to Mobily Riding school this school was the worst riding school i had ever been to and the staff were nowhere near as kind, friendly and helpful as Finlow. When you arrive you are greeted and told what pony you are on immediately. During the lessons the teacher is very simply and happy throughout the whole lesson. I hope other... (read more)

Finlow Hill is set in a beautiful area with views across Cheshire, near to the Edge at Alderly with its woods.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and obviously love the horses and ponies in their care, with low staff turnover.
I've been riding side-saddle at Finlow for a long time, after being ill and having great muscle wasting I felt unsafe riding astride, and side-saddle gave me the security to carry on riding. Now my health has improved I also ride astride but I love my riding... (read more)

I think that Finlow Hill Stables is an amazing riding school. There is a wide range of horses and ponies and the whole place is beaming with happines. It is great for beginners and for experts. There is nothing I didn't like about it. They pick out on every little detail and that's great! I like the fact that there is a wide range of different size,
ability, temperaments of horses. The riding instructers are very good, they are fun but at the same time you learn alot from them and the lessons are varied. But we tend to ride the same horses each lesson so it would be nice for a change. Apart from that the stables are very good and the horses are well looked after. (read more)

The stables are relatively unknown and some individuals may favour a school with an indoor arena. I am, however, sure that even a fair weather rider would be converted once they see the beautiful views from the outdoor arenas and/or experience a hack across this unspoilt part of the Cheshire countryside. Riding is an outdoor sport and it could be argued that the lack of an indoor arena makes for a more aware and competent rider.
I would recommend the stables to anyone who is looking for... (read more)
