Saturday nights can be quite pricey, though they've recently released a slightly cheaper 2 course menu instead, which is pretty good value. The atmosphere is lively, the DJs are quite good. Waiters have always been friendly and helpful, which is what i like to see in a restaurant. The wine list is quite well priced compared to most restaurants actually. I've had a good time each time i've visited this restaurant for special occassions. Each time a memorable experience. Thanks very much to the staff!! They deserve the praise!!

Never been in the week so can't comment on that but weekend if your a small group it's fine but a large group the service is terrible, the food is terrible value for money and to be honest not great. The waiters are rude and stressed. Disco good though.

There's two different ways to experience Joy Fook's. Friday and Saturday night is also disco night with large groups of people. The staff are under pressure, and to be honest, the food is rushed out and can be poor. In some ways the customers - drunk, noisy and abusive, hence the bouncers - probably are in a large way the cause of the attitude of the staff.

The week-day is different. A buffet is served and for £12.50 is excellent value. All the food is good and there is plenty of selectio ...

I have noticed that a lot of people are complaining about the greasiness of the food. I would just like to point out that it is chinese food...most of their food is fried...in oil funnily enough. I have eaten at the Joy Fook Chinese Restaurant quite a few times and have never found the food to be too greasy, its 12.50 and you can eat as much as you like, you get what you pay for. If you are into the classier more expensive type of food, go to the Ritz! Not a chinese restaurant in Brentwood!

Joy Fook Chinese Restaurant is a pretty good restaurant for its size. Well, good thing about it is that it can be family orientated when you need to, maybe a weeknight dinner. Then when the weekend hits, it's party time! The menus are slightly pricey at £24 for a set menu on friday and saturday nights, but that includes loads of good food, coffee, and disco. The DJ is pretty nice, he usually does listen to us when we want a particular song played.

The buffet is good value, not sure how t ...

As a chinese buff and lover of the oriental food. Joy Fook Chinese Restaurant is by far the worst chinese food i have ever had. Greasy beyond belief, and a complete rip-off. When busy you will find that quite a few items are added to the bill and when questioned they become very elusive. They tried to charge me £ 16 for 4 coca colas. It is an awfull restaurant, lovely for slop, but class and value a definate no no.

I go to Joy Fook Restaurant almost every month for their buffet and have always had a pleasant time there. Prices are about average for a Chinese restaurant I would say, but the range and quality of food is definitely unbeatable. I have never seen scallops, lobsters, salmon and even crab being served in a buffet!! All for £12.50 per person!!! Talk about credit crunch busting deals, this restaurant is excellent.

I go to the Joy Fook Chinese Restaurant in Brentwood almost every month for their evening buffet. It offers great value for money i think, and has a very large range of dishes to satisfy even the fussiest eaters. With a dessert and vegetarian corner, with a range of salads, it is fantastic. I also like their service, if you find that a dish is currently out, you can ask a waiter, and they will personally ask the chefs to cook you an extra portion just for your table, all included in the buffet. ...

Have been there many times for a friday and saturday night disco. Must say, it is a brilliant night out if you want to combine food and dancing together. They only do set menus on those days which is ok, the food was truly excellent. They also have an english menu which has steak and chips. This restaurant is definitely in my top 5. The disco doesn't start until 10pm, so that way you can enjoy the lovely food (and alcohol!!) and not worry about missing out on dancing to your favourite tunes. The ...

I have been there on a few occasions now, and can only praise the Joy Fook, great for a special occasion, great food, set menu, but you can ask for extras, helpful staff, when it came to bringing cake out, great atmosphere, great disco, lots of parking, will be going back for my 25th wedding anniversary.

If you are looking for a venue for a meal for two stay well clear. The joy fook is clearly a party destination, tables seat a minimum of 4 and lack intimacy. Food is of a good standard but would expect better at the cost. Menu a little daunting with too much choice. Waited 1hour 30mins between courses which was fine for us as we like each others company but may not suit everyone. Total meal time 5 hours order to coffee could be a little excisive, this was based on a half empty restaurant.

    Error ...

15th March 2008. 15 friends to celebrate my 40th! Had requested a round table and to my delight we not only got one but it was right by the dance floor..perfect! Service was great..there when we wanted them, but not pushing us along or bothering us when we didn't want them. I thought it was excellent value for money '£35 p/h which included copious amounts of alcohol including Tiger Beer! Bang on 10pm disco started. All the right tracks to get the dance floor packed. I thoroughly enjoye ...

I do not like having to have a set meal. If I am paying good money, I expect to be able to choose what I eat. I will never go there again.
The only member of staff who offered any assistance when my husband needed to go to the toilet was one of the bouncers. The rest of the staff really could not have cared less.

To cut a long story short, this restaurant had stolen my card details. I paid for some drinks and I had to part with my card for a few minutes. Seems that after going shopping today my card had been declined. After speaking to my bank I was told that failed transactions had been carried out over the internet. Luckily my bank were quick to notice that I don't carry out such large transactions. Coincidence? Seems that after going to the restauarant Sat 5th Jan 08, these mysterious transactio ...
