    bought a blue top costing me £25,when i tried it on at home it didnt fit properly.i took it back to wigan store and was made to feel like a cheat.got told i couldnt have my money back because the top smelled too fresh.my daughters and myself spend hundreds of pounds in river island every year,but i am afraid to say we will not b going in the store again a very unsatisfied customer

    River Island cannot possibly go wrong for me.I love the clothes, the style and the quality. The clothes are so chic, sophisticated, trendy, affordable and of a very high quality. What could I have done without river island?

    I used to work in a River Island store, I did so for 2 years, that's 2 years too long as far as I am concerned.

    I started off on minimum wage. The job was clear cut, I was a shop assistant- or more famously known 'retail assistant'. My job varied, very slightly, but did vary.
    There were several things or tasks you had to do depending on where you were positioned in the store.

    There was front of house, which for our store also meant security as the head office refused to pay for any for us. ...

    I absolutely LOVE River Island! It is my all time favourite shop. I get everything from there and i get really upset when i hear bad things said about them! :( Another good thing about river island is how cheap their things are and the best part is they are really good quality!

    i shopped online with river island because i love their clothes and currently have no time or travel to enable me to get to town and back.
    first order i placed went to my billing (parents) address which is 200 miles away from my home, well it would have done as they were unable to change the address at any point, but it did not get delivered at all! it was not signed for but had 'supposedly' been left in the vacinity!
    second order, size 5 boot, only got 1 size 4 and 1 size 5, great! so i re-orde ...

    I placed and order online the day it was supposed to be delivered the driver claimed he left it at the back door, as nobody was in. when you cant even get to the back door, unless the driver jumped over the 6ft gate or THREW my parcel over, i told customer service and they said well he may have thrown the parcel over!

    river island offered me a refund, but said he couldnt re process the order and get it sent out to me the next day. i had to get a refund and then got told i need to order again o ...

    I'm so angry at River Island at the minute. i am just sick of the state of the customer service i have received everytime I'm in the place. As for the website, this is just as disappointing for me. My boyfriend bought me a leather jacket, £120 from river island for christmas, I told him a size 8, but he didn't have a clue, so i phoned the store and they said they'd hold 1 over, which they did, but just aswell i tried it on before he wrapped it, it was a size 6! so i went back to the store ...

    I love River Island and i am a loyal customer. It is my absolute favourite shop!!! I regularly buy from there and i find a lot of stuff in there, i hate that i have to put half of it back though!! I think their style of clothes are perfect and they keep up with the latest trends without being too cliched. The store is always tidy(apart from in sales) and the staff have always been great to me.     I find River Island expensive and I think they are definitely overpriced on most of their items, however i love handbags and they do stunning bags in lovely quality. Also for a friends birthday party i needed a dress and got a beautiful dress which i shall wear again many times for £57. In my opinion, their website is disappointing and online delivery is bad.

    Maybe drop the prices of clothes a little bit, and maybes they will earn alot more customers.

    I have been a loyal customer of River Island in Belfast city centre for nearly 10 years now, and the last few years I have been really annoyed that when I go into the shops, everything on the shelves and hangers are a size 6 to a 14. They boast big sizes in their advertising, yet there are none in store. They check the stock room, but you know what the answer will be... "sorry, we haven't got size 16 to 18.     River Island offers great fashion at high street prices. I wouldn't shop here for basics like t-shirts etc (as I tend to think that River Island is fairly over priced). But for individual dresses and tops I would definitely head here on a shopping trip! The handbags from here are also gorgeous!     I have been shopping with River Island for a few years now. I must admit for the basics like plain t-shirts and casual clothing I do generally stick to Primark but when it comes to things like skinny jeans and glam clothing for evening wear I always turn to River Island.

    I know quite a bit about how River Islands clothes have varied throughout the past few years. They do offer a good alternative to 'fashionable' clothing to the pricier, designer shops but on the other hand the clothes have seriously decreased in quality and they have hugely downsized in the past few years making people think they are bigger than what they used to be.     I would just like to add, I work for a River Island in Essex, and we do actually sell leg lengths ranging from an Extra Short to an Extra long. I can understand that they might be difficult to get hold of and not all store stock XS and XL, which is why we offer our website www.riverisland.com available to our customers to ensure that that they can get jeans or trousers to fit them with accurate leg length.

    River Island has a good selection of clothing, both casual wear and formal/going out clothes. They also do lots of different lengths for trousers and jeans which is a dream come true if you are petite like I am!
    Clothing is of good quality although I've found that recently, they don't have as much choice and variety of clothing as they used to (perhaps due to the time of year maybe?).

    I actually wonder how River Island keeps going. Whenever I go in I find they have a very basic and boring selection of clothes, whereas they used to be on the cutting edge. I also find them very overpriced. You can go to stores like Top Shop, Miss Selfridge and New Look and get a better selection of clothes at more affordable prices.

    River Island - The clothes are nice but I'm 6 2" and average body. The leg size is 34" and that's their biggest size. HA what a joke, they need to see people are getting taller. Go to Republic they offer 36" leg in all their jeans!

    If you're tall, don't go to River Island!
