Good Points: Locality to the village of Butterwick

Bad Points: Food. Very expensive.

General comments: I wouldn't recommend Butterwick Fryer. I've visited this establishment on several occasions, and whilst a bad meal can be forgiven on occasion, every time has been a disappointment for me at this establishment. I feel that the prices are ridiculously expensive (up to 50% more expensive than other similar local takeaways in my opinion), and food seems to be of poor quality in my experience - tastes spoiled and reheated.

I have eaten here more than once whilst on holiday in the area, and found the food to be of an excellent quality, and the choice of food served on the menu extensive. Compared to other fast food outlets in the area prices are competitive. The shop itself was bright, if a little small, and smelled and looked clean, and well looked after. The proprieter was pleasant and helpful advising us of several other attractions within the area, which we have since visited and very much enjoyed. Somewher ...

Butterwick Fryer - On more than one occasion, the food has smelled 'off', and seems to have a very unpleasant smell. The fish especially had a very nasty 'tar' aftertaste to it, and smell & tasted as if it had gone off.

The proprietor was extremely rude when asked for a refund or replacement.
