Good Points: Good Musicianship, Singing is good, everything.
Bad Points: None.
General comments: The Stills, a young band from Montreal, Canada has put out a must have for any fan of post-punk or indie. Even so, they sound like none of the most achieved bands in this genre. They could also get a lot of comparisons to The Strokes. Now, I'll do a breakdown of all the tracks.
1.Lola stars and stripes - Very good opener, everything is tight in this song and it shows the start of what's to come on this fantastic cd. 4/5.
2.Gender bombs - An amazing song. One of my favorites by far. everything here is wonderful. The riff and drum beat pull you into this one and the chorus is definitely memorable. The way Tim Fletcher sings in this song is haunting. 5/5
3.Changes are no good - Another fantastic song, absolutely nothing wrong with it. You just have to hear it yourself. 4.5/5
4.Love and death - I love the intro to this song, it's good stuff all the way around. The chorus is great. 4/5
5.Of Montreal - The drum beat is great in this song and so is the riff, although simple. I also love the lyrics in this song. That's another thing to point out. The lyrical delivery is very gloomy and not very happy at all, but this song is great. 4/5
6.Ready for it - Yet again, another fantastic song. Although it took me awhile to get into this song its still good. There's like a 3 minute instrumental in this song at the end as well. It's great stuff. 4/5
7.Let's roll - This song is different than anything else on the CD. It's more poppy or something. Everything is more straightforward and it works well. The chorus will have you singing along. 4.5/5
8.Allison krausse - This takes awhile to get going but once it does there's no turning back. It's awesome simply put. 4/5
9.Animals and insects - Simply amazing song. There's no words for it. It's slower then the other songs and Tim Fletchers vocals shine in this song. Definitely one of the best. 5/5
10.Still in love song - This is the single, and it's a great one. Not as good as the song before it but still awesome. This is a good song to download first to see if you like, and if you like it..get the CD. 4.5/5
11.Fevered - This is no let down, it's an awesome track. Nothing wrong at all. 4.5/5
12.Yesturday never tommorows - Weird vocals in this song. It reminds me a lot of The Strokes. Other than that this is a great song and a great ending to a masterpiece of an album. 4/5
All in all this CD deserves 10/10 and will be in high rotation in my CD player for a long time to come. Recommended for people who like, Joy Division,The Strokes, The Cure, etc
