Good Points: Works well when nothing goes wrong with pretty good user interface and able to backup open files on local computer or remote computer.
Bad Points: Has become increasingly difficult to install with Veritas tech support unable to resolve problems. When it has problems, they are difficult to fix and require a great deal of time.
General comments: I have used this product for almost two years. When I first started using it it worked well and would backup exchange server and Oracle databases. We had some problems with the Open File Option, but was able to resolve most of these issues. When version 9 came out, we had nothing but trouble with the product. It installed and ran OK on one server, but on another server it would not back up system state. We spent weeks working with Veritas on the problem, and they were unable to resolve the problem. We even tried a clean install which didn't work either. After this I did a fresh install of the OS (Windows 2000 Server) by reformatting the hard drive. The product still refuses to install and there is no other software to interfere with the installation on the machine.
