Good Points: Easy to use the controls

Bad Points: Sometimes the camera angle is awkward

General comments: I picked up this game after the promise of "coins and cleavage" lured me in, but this game is more than that. Set in medieval times, Bard's Tale is an interesting RPG, where the Bard is able to conjure spirits with his instruments, each of which may help in a different way. As you go on you learn more and more songs to conjure different helpers. The story is enjoyable, with a couple of little side missions to do when the main story gets too much. The game is not particularly hard, but there are a couple of baddies that take some killing. There's lots to explore in the game, with hidden tokens and treasure chests, and you can speak to almost anyone you encounter. There are also a couple of musical numbers in the game, they're funny. Some of the fights become a bit boring, as I said it's not too hard, but some fights go on and on and on. The lead up to the finale is a bit boring, fighting horde after horde of the various baddies you've met, again, not too difficult, but just goes on too long. There are 3 different endings, and they're very good, definately unexpected. Also, the narration is a big laugh, lot's of sarcastic comments, which the Bard is forced to respond to on occasion, very funny. All in all a good game, I reccommend it to anyone that wants a game that they can get through in a couple of days, because unlike some other quick games there's heaps to keep you interested. I finished it in 4 days, but I think if you had the time you could get through it in one or two days.

The Bard's Tale is a nice RPG game which is fairly diverse but also a damn good romp to boot. I was hesitant to play this game due to the title, I was no fan of Shakespeare and I was reluctant to try anything I thought may be related to the original Baird but I'm glad I had a stab at this game. The Bard featured in this game is no playwright and he's certainly no goodie two shoes, with the lead character being an opportunist and a scoundrel rather than a Nobleman. You control the Bard and the wa ...
