The Movies is a brilliant and fun filled strategy game with echoes of Theme Park. The aim of the game is to generate as much money as possible and to become to the top director in Hollywood. A nice feature of the game is that it is set across 120 years (1900-2020) so you have to be aware when making your movies that a Jeepers Creepers type flick may not do well in 1915. Part of the fun is marketing your film and tracking down the top actresses and actors to take the plum roles. You also have to look after your minions by doing up your studio so there is a lot to take into consideration when launching your bid to become Hollywood's most successful director.
How you run your studio is your call, you can have full control of the movie or leave it others to do the lions share. You set the costs and budgets so if you want to keep your cast in the finest trailers money can buy then you can, on the flip side if you want to make everyone slum it then again that is your call.
This game is original, fun and one that really gets your imagination running wild. A real strategy treat for people of all ages.
