I cannot rate the co-op low enough to be honest. I have two local stores - one a convenience store which I have now stopped using altogether due to long queues, staff having no manners (well, except bad ones!!!) and management generally not giving a damn. The other, is a large store where you could do your main shop - were it not for the totally ignorant youngsters who are clearly on a power trip. Last Sunday I visited the store and a young lad apologised for blocking my way with a cage. His co-worker, aged about 17 then loudly reprimanded him for apologising to me. She said he did not need to apologise for blocking my way. I asked him who she was and guess what he said "nobody".

To make matters worse, I got to the till just as the store was closing and the unhappy, young, ignorant girl on the till called for help from a colleague - guess why "cos customers keep putting bloody shopping on my belt". That was her exact words. Needless to say, I apologised. I had thought I was in a grocery store. Her poor colleague, again a young chap, apologised for her ignorance. I get the feeling there is a pattern here!!!!

So, back to Sainsburys - I know now why I pay more for my groceries, and am happy to keep doing so!!!

let's face it, if The Co-op was the leading supermarket the world would be a way better place. I really don't care if there a bit more expensive. There quality of food is brilliant and the community projects they do, fairtrade projects and climate change projects are really highly commendable. i think the co-op do far more good than the other supermarkets.

i used to use my local store but now don't bother. every time i go there are long queues and they never seem to open extra checkouts. the staff are mostly young people and the staff I have dealt with have seemed rude and unhelpful to me. i now shop elsewhere and could not recommend the store to anyone. unfortunately lots of people have no choice but to shop here due to transport problems. i pity them.

Coop is clean, modern and they have helpful staff. They are also open long hours, and near to me, so I can walk to the store within 15 minutes and back.

The Co-op at Great Barr in Birmingham is fantastic! I love the special offers, great range of wine and the fact it is a compact store; about 1/10TH of the size of a large Asda, yet I can get everything I want - only tonight I bought Strawberries that were grown on a Co-op farm, some very fresh store baked bread and some fresh fish. Oh, and not to mention a 'Kitchen Devil' Knife Block for £9.99 (ARGOS £20+)

Their Luxury Pizza is to die for, as are the carrot cake and scones. It ...

The Co-op ought to be a place where I want to shop. However, I will not shop at my local branch of the Co-op until this company appreciates the importance of good customer service.

The co-op in caol Fort William is a disgrace lack of staff and bad management the freezers are bogging and not much frozen food on offer There are too many gaps on the shelves. I'm taking my custom elsewhere and I speak for many others.

The Co-op is not a store that I like, I don't find the prices on a lot of things easy to find, most of the stores are dated and have not got the sparkle of most supermarkets. They do have some good offers so it's worth nipping in for them but I am not tempted to look around at anything else. Cheque outs are slow.
