    Good Points: Cheap!

Bad Points: Can't always get the same things as you did on previous trips, products seem to disappear from inventory. Not a good selection of health products, no baby food, diaper cream etc.

General comments: I love to save a buck. Aldi leaves the name brands & some amenities to the other guys. We've found that of all the products sans 1 have met or exceeded our expectations!

Our local Aldi store at Caerphilly is a large attractive building and a pleasant place to shop. The staff are friendly and very helpful and the speed in which they check out your shopping make the staff at other supermarkets resemble lava lamps. First started using Aldi many years ago before they used barcodes and was amazed at their ability to remember the price of each item,I admit that I did check it myself with a calculator the first couple of occasions but soon gave up as they were always ...

Since I am diabetic,I and others were very disappointed when Aldi discontinued the Sweet Valley Diet Citro Zip lemon-lime drink.Another of my favorites was the Happy Farms crumbled Feta cheese that just disapearde at the Bethlehem,Pa store. I bought a Traveler Video camcorder for $99 at Aldi and have over 200 videos on Youtube using it to make Big Band videos as Victrolaman1.

At the Aldi checkout the staff process goods so quickly the customer can't pack the goods fast enough and there is no room for all the shopping at the end of the counter, it makes it very stressful right at the end. I will pay more for goods somewhere else just to avoid the hassle of the packing.

Now I know why they call it Aldi -- You have to wait ALLDAY to get served. The cashier kept telling people behind my friend and I to come forward and be served first, though we had already allowed 3 customers to go before us, and there was no courtesy in even asking if we'd mind waiting. I am registered disabled, and my friend was also disabled, having had an operation to her leg, which I did inform the cashier of as she tried to rush us at the checkout. No help was offered at all. What's the p ...

Anyone moaning about the length of queues at Aldi is more than welcome to visit a higher priced store where they can expect slightly faster service. The reason Aldi keep their prices low is that they demand a large number of jobs doing by a relatively small number of staff, so as to keep their productivity high. If you are going to moan, please, please do shop elsewhere so the rest of us shall be served a little faster and in a nicer environment!

There is very little space to put the items after they are scanned in the 3 shops we visit. If one has a trolley, one has to lean over the trolley to get to the items, as staff insist that it has to be up against the till area, but they leave you to stretch over the trolley to place the items in it! If one does not have a trolley, and we didn't have a trolley today as we didn't have a £1 coin, there is no space to put the carrier bag while it is being filled. Today I held the bag in one ha ...

The area I live in has a huge selection of supermarkets; 2 Tescos, a Sainsburys, a Co-op, a Lidl, and an Aldi. I wanted to try out Aldi. The fact is, Sainsburys is the most expensive. Tesco is cheaper, the Coop more expensive than both, and a new player has just opened Asda, which is on par with Tesco. I have found that Aldi is very lightly staffed and has security staff. I looked around knowing I have a limited budget of only £50 per week being single. ~The Look~ All Aldi store ...

I got £13 worth of food from the Hounslow branch of Aldi and I proceeded to pay by Solo chip and pin. The cashier said they did not take Solo, as there was a problem, which I later found to be that they hadn't had it installed (5 months after it became compulsory). I then had to leave the shopping and walk for 10 minutes to find a cashpoint. Very poor customer relations, and no English speaking staff. Try Lidl instead!

I have been shopping with Aldi for four years now. Originally when I lived in London, and now since I have moved to Sleaford. The biggest difference I find is that there are massive differences between the Aldi stores. Since I moved to Sleaford I now enjoy my shopping experiences, and find the staff really friendly and helpful. I recommend the Aldi store to everyone, as you will save so much money.

As a regular shopper at Aldi Halifax Branch I have no complaints with the quality of goods, but I do have complaints about the customer service. Nearly everytime we go there there is only one till operator and we have to queue. On the 3.1.06 we visited the Halifax store approximately 11.30 as usual there was only one till operator. We were at the back of a queue of about 20 people some with quite full baskets. This time we were so fed up of waiting we left our basket in the aisle full of goods ...

I shopped at Aldi for the first time on 28 November there are no car park machines and at that time no notices in the car park to say there was a time limit to parking. I have received a penalty notice demanding £85 which increases to 170 if not paid within a certain time I did leave the car in the car park to attend a doctors appt after shopping but returned straight after. There was not ticket on the car notifying me I received it through the post the DVLA had given out my personal det ...

Aldi, like Lidl is a brilliant German supermarket. It has a smaller range than Lidl, but what it has is very, very good-and I'd say the range was big enough for anyone. Staff are quick and helpful, and I've never had any problems with the store in any way. You need to buy your own carrier bags-or take a reusable bag with you each time-pref. a large sports bag-because you'll need it! The "offers of the week" are generally very good-electrical products etc are as good as you'd get for what you ...

I personally now refuse to shop in Aldi stores. This follows an incident at the Dover branch. I had been a regular customer (as it's very close to home) but went in to the shop a couple of days ago to buy one or two items. The total came to £6.40 & to make it easy I handed over £11.50 (a £10 note, a pound coin & a 50p) expecting £5.10 change. I actually received 10p only in change. When I challenged this another member of staff came & took the tillers cash box away, appar ...

I must admit from the start, that my original impression of Aldi was tainted a long time ago when I visited the store that opened a few miles down the road, and not long after it opened. The place was chaos incarnate, with all the products out of place, pricing unclear, staff non existent, and tills that took cash only. I never went back again after that experience. I bit the bullet about three weeks ago and dropped into the same Aldi for some bits and bobs, as I was waiting for a CD player t ...

Aldi provides a service badly needed by a large sector of the grocery buying public in the US and that is a way to save money. For those willing to sacrifice the bright lights and spacious shelves of name brand supermarkets the reward of 40-50% savings on weekly food items awaits you at Aldi. I always save enough money to go to high end butcher shops for prime cuts after my weekly visit to Aldi.

I was really disappointed with Aldi. I was looking forward to having some really tasty soup, I was told that it has bean taking off the shelves to make way for other things. Would be nice to have it back on again please.
