I DO NO COMPLAIN!!!!! however I am very shocked at the number of occasions at my local store in Granton, The Shore, Edinburgh where there is at least one error on most visits. The shelf price is different to what is charged at the checkout. Due to working in banking for over forty years, I know to the penny what my shop should be, (crazy mental arithmetic habit developed over the years). I have experienced this once in a while at Asda, far less at Tesco where I do my main shop. But the final straw...

NO MONEY are been refunded to me, and also a "clever" staff said to me: 'sorry we haven't found nothing inside. but FOR MY LUCKY I'M NOT THE ONLY CUSTOMERS THAT HAS HAPPENED THIS THING!. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!, AND please provide a class for a good service for the rude staff....

On this occasion I popped in because my mum wanted to get some stuff from there that asda didn't have, I went ro the customer toilets and standing at the urinal was a young chap didn't think nothing to it until he left the toilet I remember thinking he didn't wash his hands, after I washed mine I went and found me mum and we did our shopping as we were shopping to my horror the young chap was on the deli counter....

We don't shop here often and are not likely to rush back. We picked up several buy two for a reduced price offers and NONE of them were honoured at the till. When we went to customer services the queue was massive -- I wonder why!), and no apology was made at all. I really wondered if this was a deliberate policy rather than a genuine error. We were marched around the store to prove our case, not brilliant as I am recovering from a heart attack!...

I went to the bay marked "Customer Service", an assistant refused to deal with the matter, but I was shouted at to "Get in the queue" by an assistant manning the cigarette till. Like the food ok, prices and layout of the shop, but staff in there seem to have a great contempt for young people. On entering the store you are presented with the most fantastic fruit and veg department you have seen in your the life selling everything from day to day veg to the most unusual and exotic. It looked and tasted nothing like the picture on the packaging. That sort of thing happened once at our Morrisons. The incident ended up in the local paper. They have no right to behave in that way.

I have to say that Morrisons along with any other retail outlet do have a legal obligation to put the best interests of children first when it comes to purchasing tabacco products. They must have genuinely thought that it was possible that your wife was buying for your daughter (even though this was not the case. Imagine if it had of been someone buying for underage youngsters. Better to be safe then sorry. I am sure they meant no offence. I have been a customer for many years and staff there do work hard at their job.

They absolutely do have right and a legal obligation to put the best interests of youngsters first before making a sale. They must have genuinely thought the cigs were for your daughter (even though this was not the case) I am sure they meant no offence. If it had of been the case whereby someone was going in to purchase tabacco for your daughter you would be happy they had refused sale. I know I would if it were my under age child. Some of these silly little over priced corner shops will just serve anyone regardless of age with no concern what so ever. Shame these retailers don't take a leaf out of Morrisons book.

NO THEY CERTAINLY DO NOT Donna Brown. It amounts to discrimination and is highly insulting and embarassing the way people are treated by the staff just because they happen to look young. People like you just encourage them to behave in this manner and make them believe what they're doing is right.
Written on: 04/04/2012
I work in retail Claire2011 AND YES THEY DO HAVE RIGHT. No store has to serve anyone they choose not to. And as for looking young I was still getting asked for id at 30 you should take it as a compliment not have a childish temper tantrum. Maybe the reason they didn't serve you was because of your immature behaviour. And if someone came to me to buy fags and I was uncertain of their age i would not serve them either. Nobody who was professional would. Staff can be personally prosecuted if they make a mistake and serve an under age kid. Please learn about retail before whining. And people like YOU should not be promoting smoking anyway.
Written on: 05/04/2012
So YOU are resorting to insults now.. How immature...

Oh yeah Donna and Morrison's also got in troulble for refusing to serve a 75 year old man whisky. If you don't believe me look it up on wiki. But I guess you think that is also reasonable since we should all just blindly follow government suggestions. If I had my own shop I would serve schoolies, with all these supermarkets being so strict the fine would be a small price to pay if they all came to my shop.

That doesn't surprise me with Morrisons at all. We have just had a problem with them ourselves this week with the resurfacing work they've been having done on their car park since Mon eve. We live right opposite their store in Bodmin Cornwall and the work has been carried out at night from about 5.00pm up until would you believe 3.00am and that was for three nights and last night the contractors worked right through until 7.45 this morning. And I thought there was a noise ban between 11.00pm & 7.00am? All complaints to the store and customer services have been fobbed off or ignored. We even asked them if they would ask the contractors to finish by midnight and that was ignored too. And none of the residents here were warned of this work beforehand either. Its an absolute disgrace they way people here have been treated by them...how is that looking after your customers. We are so angry with them and like you have decided never to shop at Morrison's again. We have Asda Sainsburys Iceland and Lidl here in Bodmin so Morrison's can get lost.

Morrisons in Brentford west london are terrible for customer service..
The waiting time at the tills is too long as there is hardly any staff on the tills.. The pricing is very hard to understand and I never really know what is discounted in price..I went in to Morrisons last night to purchase some alcohol but I could not understand what price went with the spirits on the shelf. While doing this I heard a man ask a shelf filler to open another till because of the long queues, I could not believe my eyes when I looked around the corner and saw customers queueing to the left and right and to the back.. It was mahem and I just walked out the store and went to my local off licence.. I think I am going to change to another store after this episode, I have never seen such shoddy service and i don't know how they continue to trade in this day and age..
