In the B&Q catalogue I saw a lightweight aluminium step ladder I liked, but not wanting the hassle of it been delivered to my home when I was not in, went to my local store to see if they had it in stock. They tried to say the item didn't exist, but when another helpful assistant looked on their own website - there it was. “POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE”

As well as a Trade card, I also have a Diamond card which is much needed, as B&Q prices are so very high compared to other DIY outlets I use.In order to purchase with Diamond card, I had to wait from Thursday till the following Wednesday to get the benefit of the card.(carpet squares replacement for damaged ones) Unfortunately we picked up the wrong colour and had to return on Thursday to exchange for correct colour. “Abysmal customer service from their helplines and online ”

If you value your peace of mind and sanity, go shop somewhere else. Ordered 10 internal doors which arrived...2 damaged. No problem, arranged 2 replacements, was asked when I would like them delivered, sorted. Book a day off...Nothing arrives. Phone up BQ, no they say, the order was cancelled. Eh ?...no explanation offered. Phone up a few days later to clarify and they 'tell' me I have done it wrong, I should have blah blah. I recently got my kitchen fitted by B&Q and have to say that despite all the negative reviews I am quite impressed and very pleased with my purchase AND customer service received before install and throughout. I purchased my kitchen costing over £6k from the Wandsworth, SW London store. The designer there was very helpful and offered suggestions/tips throughout the design stage. “Dreadful bathroom - badly connected pipes/fittings/breaks”

My bathroom was fitted about 3 years ago and the fitting experience itself was poor (screws/tools left all over the place when my son was 2), followed by a leak through the ceiling. I didn't get around to reviewing back then, predominantly because the guy they sent to fit it was so nice/efficient. “Promises constantly broken”

Poor poor poor customer service. I reported a problem with my kitchen bought and fitted by B@Q and 8 weeks later I'm still waiting for someone to put the problems right. Constant phone calls from my husband with promises of actions then nothing.. “Worst Hardware Store on the Planet ...! ”

I booked a week in advance for someone to come & measure up for a kitchen. The customer care seemed to be your the customer & i don't care. It proved this when they didn't even turn up. Do not buy a bnq kitchen. Our kitchen cost 8000 pounds and after 3 years is peeling and damged. Store only offered very small partial refund on the doors, appalling. Go to ikea, you get a large guarantee period, we wont be buying anything from here again. Bought eight rolls wallpaper @£24 per roll. Checked we had 8 matching numbers however noticed shading different on walls. On a section below numbers were letter codes. We had taken 6 different letters on 8 rolls. Paper also code checked by very helpful girl on checkouts. The men I dealt with at Hermistongate Edinburgh dealt with our complaint. “Valspar paint - bad quality”

B and Q is one of the worst customer service complaints service. Have no knowledge of the products they sale or any care for the customer. Bought Valspar paint, after two coats came out very patchy, took nearly 3 days to dry and this is the worst paint I have ever used. DO NOT BUY IT or believe any of their advertisement that is doesn't need primer or it covers with first coats. The reality is that: 1. Need primer 2. Need at least 3-4 coats 3.
