I purchased a sofa from Argos, the seat I sit on was worn away after only 8 weeks. When I contacted them , they promptly sent someone out - he said because I had a dog, they would blame the dog and that was that. No replacement product - no repair - no help at all. (read more)

Ordered a very hard to get item through argos online (argos offering as an online exclusive).Website tells me its out of stock in my closest 10 stores but available to reserve for in store pick up in 3-4 days time giving dates. I ordered on line to argos paid and was crashed out of their site with a warning- we are experiencing technical difficulties and our I would receive a call from them. 2 days later I received a text to call their customer services. i spoke to the sales person on customer service who advised me she could not speak to me? I ordered a nest of tables from Argos about 5 weeks ago. When I ordered I chose the delivery date and although it was about 4 weeks in the future I was happy to wait as the tables looked nice and the price was reasonable. I ordered a gas cooker on the 5th March 490/8586; was told delivery was usually within 5 days. On the emailed receipt I was told they would contact me by 31st March they didn't, I contacted them! I received an email saying it would be delivered on 11th April, rather a long time to wait but I went along with it. “Take your money, keep you waiting, never deliver”

I ordered two sofas online on the 7th January,and they took the money that day. Delivery was meant to be in mid Feb, but a few days beforehand they phoned and said that they couldn't supply them. I chose an alternative, but they said this was out of stock.I found out the same alternative sofas were apparently available at Homebase, which is owned by the same company. Ordered in jan. advised del about 5 days. Chased up and complained loads of times but always got excuse that its supplier problem. It's their supplier so they should manage them better. I ordered a phone online to collect in store. I received an email to inform me the item had been reserved & was ready for collection Monday 25th Feb 2013 to Wed Feb 27th 2013. I live 20 miles out of town so made a special journey to Inverness to collect the phone only to be informed it wasn't in stock. Upon moving in joy of joys the vendors had felt obliged to remove all the blinds and curtain track throughout the house. Ordered a sofa online (yes I know...what a fool..) waited 4weeks for delivery. 3 weeks and 6 days later the phone call tells us it won't be coming at all as its discontinued ! You couldn't make it up..! Bought their value toaster which broke after 10 uses. Fortunately for me they took the difference off a different more expensive russell Hobbs toaster as I did not trust them that they would refund the toaster. On another occasion I put my hand out for an item i bought but the angry youth at the counter just dumped it on the counter on top of the receipt which made it awkward to retrieve. I recently purchased table and chairs from argos. Returned them 3 days later. It was an online purchase. Despite assurances from them each time I call or email, I am still waiting for my refund of over £300. DO NOT BUY ONLINE FROM ARGOS. Quality is no good and customer service is terrible. I think I will have to go to my credit card provider for a refund as getting nowhere with argos. Do they seriously think they can become a major online retailer. I think not. I purchased the Aston dining table with 6 chairs from argos after 2 weeks I received my purchase however the chair legs were split and the table dented so I asked argos to pick it up and refund me. They said they couldn't refund me utill they had the goods in there ware house and had checked it over. However they couldn't pick it up for another 10 days. You say they left you with no washer and then can fix it but next appointment is in 2 weeks, did they come and take it and made you wait for 2 weeks or did you still keep the item and they were sending someone out. I please ask if you are going to write a review like this you give more details of what has happened and think to your self they are doing the best they can with there man power they have and at least they are going to fix it as most companies don't have a full year guarantee with white good appliances, the guarantee is normally with the manufacturer.

Ordered from Argos TV a Fuji camera & case with SD card. Even though advert running whilst on the TV the operative had no idea what the offer was. With 2 days the camera arrived but no case or SD card.E mailed Argos & within 10 days missing items turned up, unforunately the camera case was not the one requested. Products are fine but actually taking delivery of them is a nightmare. You take the day off work and they don't arrive. You specify a time slot between 9 and 11 and specifically state that you need 20 minutes notice as you don't live at the property then they ring at 8am and are sat outside waiting! OMG! Avoid using Argos direct at all cost. I could spend all night writing about how useless customer services are. How they tell you a different tale everytime you ring. “Terrible Treatment by Staff at Argos”

Argos treat Customers as if they are an irritation if your item is faulty and not fit for purpose. They are happy to take your money but insult you when there is a problem. You get spoken to in a rude and insulting manner and if you dare to feed this back to Customer Service you get told you are not being honest and false allegations are then made against you. I spent some considerable time looking around for a certain type of cupboard/sideboard - I.E. one with a plinth. Eventually found one on argos. checked the picture on the website snd in the catalog. and when it arrived guess what? no plinth. So, you cannot rely on the pictures on the website or in the printed catalog to be accurate. Yet again this is a case of don't buy something you haven't seen in the flesh.
