Good Points: Three settings... Timer, Point and Shoot, Lock. Easy to use with few settings. The camera has tons of ISO settings.

Bad Points: No control over shutter speeds. Manual aperture settings make shutter speed lock at 1/60s. Max shutter speed on auto is 2s min is 1/1000s. Not enough range or control over the shutter is the only problem I have with it.

General comments: The Canon T50 is good for point and shoot. Not for pro photos, but a good backup.

I love the Canon T50 camera. It was the first SLR camera I had and was for a photography class. Was reasonably priced and still works great. :D

The SLR version of the Canon T50 is a point and shoot. Not a good choice for the serious photographer, but a good step-up for a point and shooter who doesn't want to learn about all those pesky settings.
Uses Canon FD mount lenses which are pletiful and relatively cheap on Ebay.
I primarily use mine as a back-up body for my other Canon cameras. The batteries last forever in these things.

This is the worst SLR camera that Canon ever made, but if you like Canon cameras and you are looking for a new paper weight, then this is for you! God only knows why the T50 won Japan's Good Design Grand Prize in 1983. The T70 and T90 models are lightyears better.
