The bose wave is a cool looking item to have in the home. I own three of them so they must be good. When using in conjunction with an ipod by means of an auxilary cable it never seems to get loud enough. You can get the Bose to go as loud as you can without any distortion in sound. At maximum volume it sounds so clear.

This Bose Wave Radio/CD system is style over function. It markets well and sells to all those who look at the style rather than listen to music. Not a proper music system. It is convenient though. Small compact but then so is a shoe box, don't waste your money unless you are not too fussed over cash or quality.

I bought a Bose Wave System with the multi CD player and after 18 months and used very little, the multi CD part would not eject a CD and is now inoperable. Of course it is out of warranty.I expected more for $700.00. Could have gotten a unit at WalMart that would perform as good.

The Bose Wave Radio/CD is far far too expensive for what it provides and has an appalling CD player.

Order the Graphite Grey colour. The Platinum White (BEIGE) is horrible. The same as the colour OLD PC's use to come in. Only slightly more beige. Dont recommend Bose Wave.

Since buying mine nearly 18mths ago I have probably only played 20-30 CDs as the mechanism for ejecting failed this was replaced once(which took2 months) and fixed once but still manages to fail straight away. Also I find all the buttons on it a not very responsive unless pressed very firmly, When it does play the sound isn't as good as expected from all the hype. So generally while this is a funky looking machine and was very expensive I wonder if I got a lemon here. I didn't want a big unit bu ...

This beats the competition hands down, unless of course your taste runs to a room full of machinery, wires and flashing dials. Big is, clearly, not better!

I'm really interested in top-quality hi-fi's, and I bought the BOSE unit to fill a niche; needed a small system, with no wires that would sit on a shelf in a box room. The BOSE unit was perfect for that purpose, but the sound can be lost in living rooms/lounges. The unit costs around £850. A Denon hifi of £250 would trounce it for sound and build quality. It doesn't have bass or treble control, nor does it have any other form of sound adjustments, but this suits me just fine. A top s ...

I was absolutely horrified to find out that while there are all kinds of options for time, clock radio functions, and random playing of tracks, there is no bass/treble control for CD's on the Bose Wave Radio/CD micro system. Engineering varies enormously across CD's and EARS vary from one person to another. I don't like too much bass, and modern engineering over-emphasizes bass. With age I will lose some of my ability to hear the higher frequencies, and the system doesn't allow me to do what e ...

Ok what is the Acoustic Wave Music System I hear (some of you) say........ well either check out the Bose web site http://www.bose.co.auk//homepage/ (Under WAVE Systems) OR simply look at those glossy ad's in the likes of your SKY TV Magazine etc to see what I am about to rave about?

Well for many years like most of you out there, I had been putting up with the appalling output of my aging stereo CD player and midi system, wishing I could one day turn up the volume with out the fear of eith ...

I've owned this Bose Wave Radio/CD small system for two years and because of the good quality sound am finally disposing of my B&O Becenter HX-Professional and Beogram 5005 system.

The Bose has excellent sound qualty, I'm no hi-fi buff but my hi-fi buff friens said the sound is superb comparing well with his Kenwood system - I believe him, he is an accomplished musician and singer.

If this Bose Wave Radio/CD Micro System was $200 I would rate it much higher. The Ads seem to give the impression it sounds like an expensive component systen. Trust me, it doesn't even sound as good as a mediocre component system. The bass is thin and totally lacking below 100 hz or so. The speakers are too close together so there is no stereo separation. Unless you don't care about value and the small size is very important to you don't waste your money. I returned mine the day after I got it.

This Bose Wave Radio/CD micro system is a triumph--sadly not in acoustic performance, but in the success of its marketing.
The machine is cheap and plastic in construction and the amplification is inadequate. The sound quality does not match what is said in the advertisements. The CD player is a lower end of the market type which doesn't even let you move along to various points in a long track. The radio performs satisfactorily.
I believe that most people having bought one have to pra ...

This Bose Wave Radio/CD was purchased to replace a portable hi-fi micro system for my bedroom and as such , has been a vast improvement . For such a small unit , the overall sound is a joy , the bass is deep and pure , but treble can sometimes appear swamped and tinny . There is no facility to alter the bass/treble ratio , so some kinds of music don't fare well .
My biggest gripe is that when played at a low volume , the noisy cd mechanism intrudes .

I replaced a Sony LBT-series bookshelf system with
    detached bass-reflex three-way speakers with a
Bose Wave Radio/CD. The Wave Radio/CD easily outperforms the Sony LBT in terms of quality, richness, and depth of sound.

Some way to control the phase shifting for
loudness would have been nice, though.

    Great product, definitely worth the price;
    will buy again.

My wife recieved a mail out for this thing, and decided to relegate the HiFi to the loft in order to tidy up the sitting room. The Bose arrived and sits in the sitting room looking tidy (the room does look a lot better. But the promises of beautiful clear sound have deffinately not been realised. The bass is muddy and one-note in character, the top end is hard and there is little depth to the sound, acoustic, single instrument recording such as solo piano or harp are listenable, but recordings s ...
