“This unit is an absolute gem. Dead easy to setup,...”

★★★★★

written by Firemanmick on 30/07/2005

This unit is an absolute gem. Dead easy to setup, stable as a rock and a manual that actually makes sense. The unit is small, smart looking with a high quality remote control that operates your TV sets on/off & volume. I have found picture & sound quality to be top notch, (especially compared to my DGTEC PVR). The onscreen menus are easy to read, well laid out and don't clutter things up with useless eye candy. 12Volt operation also makes the unit available for caravan & camping use. After owning this unit, I will be returning my DGTEC PVR (wait for that review people!!!) and will be purchasing the Humax PVR-8000T on the basis of the sheer quality of this unit.

“The Humax F2-1011T is the first Freeview box I have...”

★★★★★

written by Maggotty. on 25/07/2003

The Humax F2-1011T is the first Freeview box I have bought. Got it as an experiment to try. Our TV transmitter has the Digital channels at the low end of the band and the analogue ones at the top end so I thought I'd see if it worked with my existing aerial. The Freeview site said no reception for our postcode but the DTG site said yes but may need new aerial.
This is a very basic unit but was only £59.
Set up was very quick, 2 - 3 minutes. The unit is very easy to use and comes with a very good instruction book. EPG is good with very clear text. It has an on/off timer. Channel change is reasonably fast. The picture quality is superb on a Panasonic Quintrix set. Have been using this box for 2 weeks and so far no problems. The remote control is excellent and can be used with most manufacturers TV's too. Shame there is no text and only one SCART but for a cheap start into the world of digital it is great.
The overall build quality is good, it looks discrete and the box is only the size of a paperback book.

Richardcb's Response to Maggotty.'s Review

I found this review helpful because...as a non digital user so far, it helps to se someone else's comments on a device so that a buying decision can be made. The review was concise and contained information not usually contained in professional reviewers notes.
