My 1979 Fender Antigua Strat is a rosewood fret board model. i would'nt trade it for any other guitar. i use a fender hot rod deville 212. just a cord between me and the amp. at times, i will use my cry baby. depending on the song.
but most of the time its just sweet mary ( my guitar ) and her coupe deville ( my amp ) a 20 foot cord, and me.

I bought mine in 1989 for $700. I saw it in a vintage guitar store in NC and lusted after it- driving by weekly to make sure it hadn't sold. It was so eye-catching, I couldn't resist. After a few months, I finally bought it. It quickly became my main baby for recording and touring. Mine is unique in that it has a rosewood neck. I see a lot of maples come up, but no rosewoods.
I came to love Strats after growing up listening to Ritchie Blackmore and Jeff Beck. I wanted to steal that spectrum of sound. The 79 Antigua delivers, but with a whole different sound. I have played a lot of Stratocasters, but none has this almost weird sound. It might be the rosewood neck.
I'm getting ready to celebrate her 30th birthday with a show and a bottle of Woodford Reserve.
A classic guitar from Fender.

It's just a great guitar, sound is great and a lot of fun to play. I have an original 79 my father bought for me it still rocks!
