Good Points: Clean and tidy. Good location for town. En suite rooms.
Bad Points: Unfriendly landlady, almost matronlike!. Below-standard breakfasts, no compromise on what you have. Felt unwelcome and in the way. Overcharged at end of stay. Took no proof of quoted price.
General comments: Kendal Airethwaite House - When quoted a price, take it with you in writing as we had 3 rooms for 3 nights and ended up paying £72 more than was quoted on the website.
Needs classes in friendliness and hospitality, we all felt scrutinised and checked on. We weren't a group of yobs either, one member was 76 years old.
A handy location for the town, about 5 minutes walk, and only one hill to climb on the way back.
If there was something in the breakfast that you didn't like, it wasn't replaced with anything, even by arrangement, it was just left off your plate....a kind of 'eat it or go without' situation.
