I love love love my honda reflex! Gas mileage is great, always starts. Handles well, and gives a soft, cushy ride with it's oversized seat. Not too heavy to pick up if it's tipped over. Wind is a r-e-a-l problem though, because it's so light. Wish a 20 mph wind or semi wake didn't throw you all over the road.

I have a 2004 Honda Reflex, I Love It. Has almost 19,000 Miles. And Still Runs Like A Top.... So Much Storage, I Added A Trunk... And A Higher Wind Shield. All I Do Is Change The Oil Every 2000 Miles, With Mobile 1, 2 Set Of Tires.... And Wax It Once On Awhile..... I Drove it 200 Miles In A Short Trip...A Few times... never no issues.... love love love my black reflex.... I get a Average 68/70 mpg... Which is awesome. Starts Every Time, getting ready to some tunes to my loved bike.... Itube or something else.. haven't decided yet.... but never thank twice on buy a reflex, that is if you can find one..... owners keep them..

Purchased a 2002 Reflex in March 2013 with 16,000 miles on it. Being a newbie, I was looking for a good starter bike and a friend recommended I stay with Honda, Yamaha, or Suzuki. I choose the Reflex based on the rave reviews others had for it and that I thought it would be the easiest to learn on since it is lighter than the 400 cc models from Suzuki and Yamaha. After about 1,500 miles thus far, I can say that it was a great choice. Gets great gas mileage (65-75 mpg) , has good acceleration, and has no problem getting up to 65 (haven't taken it out on the freeway yet).

As a fluke, I bought a 7 year old 2006 Reflex 250 recently, mainly because I can't pass up a bargain. I didn't initially have plans to own it, but after a few trips around the block, there is no way I'm selling this little jewel. I can't explain it, especially to other hog owners, but I prefer riding the Reflex over my 2009 Sportster 1200. Go figure. Now that I've had it a couple of weeks, would I buy it again? My answer is, 'Yes', and probably at twice the price.

After many years of riding motorcycles the scooter bug has hit hard. This little bike is just a joy...nimble and well made. The 73 mpg makes for guilt-free riding and I just can't stay off this thing.
I weigh 215 lbs and honestly feel it has adequate power, however highway riding is not my pleasure. Roads posted for 55 mph are fine, but I do not like to push a 250 cc motor, even if this Honda engine can take it.

Have owned over 20 different motorcycles ranging from 250 to 1500 cc. I have to say this is my first scooter. I find myself looking to upshift on the freeway, but that's only because I am trying to go past 80 mph. It is totally reliable and easy to maintain. This scooter has brought a new found respect for the scooter world and I would recommend that any motorcyclist give the super scooters a try for a week and you'll be sold on them. Storage, comfort, 70 mpg, ease of use, affordability and cheap insurance equals a winner on my list.

I have driven over 1500 miles and I have nothing bad to say about the reflex. I know that a few have made comments about the lack of speed on the highway. This unit can keep up with traffic on the interstate 65-75 mph however anyone buying this bike should know that this is not a touring bike, basicly made for city use. It is true that it has a breakdown between 30-40 mph, if you try to push it, if you just apply a constant roll on the throttle it will be less noticed. I started out getting about 60mp @gal on gas and now that I have over 1000 miles on the bike I am now getting aroung 65 mp gal. I would recomend the bike to anyone who is looking for quality and good gas milage.

I have an after market exhaust, K-mod, tank bag, K&N filter, pulsing high beam, flashing stop strobe light, GPS. It runs all day on 2.5 gallons of gas, will run 80 but not recommended. Wouldn't dream of getting rid of it, too much fun.

Overall, I have enjoyed it more and used it more than the more powerful, more "tough guy" motorcycles I had in the past.

I purchased the 2006 Reflex Sport for myself for my birthday this year [I'm so spoiled]. My main reasons were gas mileage in the 60's, automatic transmission, and speeds beyond any US highway speed limit. I have always wanted a scooter for pleasure riding and necessary commuting. My choices were between the reflex, the SilverWing and the YAMAHA Majesty. Well, Yamaha wouldn't finance me, and Honda wouldn't give me the extra $2000 in financing for the Silverwing. So the Reflex it is.
I am extremely pleased with the performance and reliability of this mean machine. I have no problem keeping up with traffic and even passing traffic on the freeway going up to 82 MPH. I have found it to reach just beyond 85, but that drove it into the RED ZONE. That's some mean power for a 'scooter'. I might actually be pleased to get pulled over for speeding on the Interstate for speeding with this bike. That way, when people ask me how fast it goes, I can say "Well, I did get pulled over for going 20mph OVER the limit on the Interstate".
Gas mileage is unreal in comparison to most means of transport these days. I can maintain the 60-70 MPG range at all times, in combination driving [city and hiway]. With the 3.2 GAL tank, I can go over 150 miles before it's time to add the petrol.
For those of you wondering about long distance trips, the Reflex is perfect for you. A few weeks ago, I went from central PA to South Carolina, 610 miles, in one day. It takes about 10-12 hours, which is no different than a car, and might be a little faster [many variables decide that]. The ride is comfy and keeping up with the interstate traffic for half a day was a breeze. I was able to pass just about everyone that was in the slow lane. It's fun to see other drivers take a double-take to assure themselves that a 'scooter' has indeed passed them going 80mph.

My Honda Reflex is my second scooter. My first was a cheap mainland China make and frankly it sucked in terms of build quality and reliability. I road it for six months before deciding it had to go. I wanted a scooter that was everything the Chinese brand wasn't, and, after some research, I decided on the Honda Reflex. I'm short (5'4") and the relatively low seat height is a plus for me. I've heard some complaints about the stock Reflex windshield being too small, but at my height, it's plenty good for me. The Reflex starts every time and runs like a top. I ride it to work every day that it doesn't rain or snow. Also, this bike is just plain fun to ride. I've thought a couple of times about moving up to a Silverwing, but I'm so happy with the Reflex that I've decided to stick with it. I highly recommend the Reflex to others in the market for a topnotch, mid-size scooter.

I have a new 2006 Honda Reflex 250. Ride it every day to work and love it! I have 1000 miles on it already and it just keeps running smoother and smoother. Average gas mileage is 60-65 mpg. I have had it up to 70 easily and I am a big man, around 300 lbs. Only complaint is the usual one for Reflex's and that is the poor acceleration between 30 - 40. It would be nice if the automatic tranny would hold off another 600 - 1000 rpm before shifting. The power is there, it just shifts too quickly. Overall I still love the scoot! Very attractive scooter. Lots of storage under seat, glove box and map compartment. Very comfortable seat. Carry passenger very easily.

I am very happy with my Honda Reflex (AKA Jazz and Forza). I weigh 150 lbs. I cruise over 75 mph. The bike redlines at just over 80 mph. It will ride at 75+ mph all day without complaint. I had a mechanic remove 3 of the roller weights from the variator. The lighter variator provides much better accelleration 0 to 50 than before. My gas mileage dropped from 65 mpg to almost 60. Now, I have no trouble getting onto difficult highways like Boston's Route 1. The suspension is adjustable. I left it at its factory setting. I rode this bike over 200 miles one day and felt good about it. The trunk only fits one full helmet and some gear in and around the helmet. I would buy this bike again. I wouldn't bother with the extended warranty.

Have owned the Honda Reflex for two years and have ridden 28,800 miles with no mechanical trouble. I get 72-87 mpg (great tailwind for the 87). I change oil every 3000 miles but haven't had to do anything else. Starts every time, doesn't miss, seems to handle 6-7000 rpm without hurting itself. Dealer doesn't know how long the engine will last but use good oil and change it often. Mechanic friend says it will last my lifetime (I'm 63). Friend changed the drive belt for me at 21000 miles.

I own a 2001 Honda Reflex that has comfortably performed flawlessly in the last 6 months of ownership, but I found the bike to accelerate hard then slow in it's ascend to a sedate climb. This prompted me to search online for a solution/cure. http://groups.google.com/group/Honda-Reflex-owners found a transmission modification that cost nothing, and allows the engine to run at peak horsepower during acceleration. It made a noticeable difference.
This is an extremely comfortable bike. I have taken it on day long trips, and arrive home, or at my destination less fatigued than I have on any other bike I've owned.
The low center of gravity makes mid to high speed handling extremely predictable. Not sure how it is at it's higher limit, as you have no desire to push it beyond it's competency.
My worst mileage has been 63mpg, and usually without trying it, it returns 65-70 mpg.
The lack of Honda support in the accessories department only results in the owner finding aftermarket support at a 1/3 of the cost that Honda would ask. For instance I have added a trunk for $60 that Honda would charge $300+. A larger windshield $79, that would be approx $175-$200+ from Honda etc...

Hey Dan, I'm very glad you are enjoying your Reflex scooter. I do not know much about them and have not ridden one but they do appear to be nice bikes. The best I can do is relate it to the older Honda Elite 250, from the early 1990's. I happened to catch one of your comments on another scooter, I believe it was the Majesty by Yahama. I have owned a 2003 Honda Silverwing, since May of 2005. It is very nice and rides very well. Of course, with the bike being bigger the mileage is not as good but it does do very well and is more thrifty than my Jeep. Having all my experience with Honda narrows my world quite a bit, however, I hope that if/when you move up to another bike then I hope you would consider another Honda. Perhaps the Silverwing, which for me has done a remarkable job. I hope you have many enjoyable miles on your bike and perhaps we'll cross paths out there on the ribbon.

The Honda Reflex 250 is a great sccoter, I like it better than a regular cycle. I have no problem running it on the highway. Also the passenger seat is great, you set up above the driver, plenty of view.

Drive belt changed at 21000 mi had 1/16 in. of wear-not much. Changed to new tires at 21000 though not "worn" & could have used another year I think. May change to a Givi windshield this year. Will change radiator fluid and final drive fluid this year. Waiting for snow to melt and temps to get warmer. Winter is long in the upper peninsula of Mich. Darn!
