Purchased a 2002 Reflex in March 2013 with 16,000 miles on it. Being a newbie, I was looking for a good starter bike and a friend recommended I stay with Honda, Yamaha, or Suzuki. I choose the Reflex based on the rave reviews others had for it and that I thought it would be the easiest to learn on since it is lighter than the 400 cc models from Suzuki and Yamaha. After about 1,500 miles thus far, I can say that it was a great choice. Gets great gas mileage (65-75 mpg) , has good... (read more)

As a fluke, I bought a 7 year old 2006 Reflex 250 recently, mainly because I can't pass up a bargain. I didn't initially have plans to own it, but after a few trips around the block, there is no way I'm selling this little jewel. I can't explain it, especially to other hog owners, but I prefer riding the Reflex over my 2009 Sportster 1200. Go figure. Now that I've had it a couple of weeks, would I buy it again? My answer is, 'Yes', and probably at twice the price. (read more)

I have a 1996 Honda Freeway in Japan that I've ridden for 5 years whenever we're there. I liked it so much I bought a 2007 used Reflex a couple years ago with only 300 miles on it. The old Freeway is comparable to the Reflex in size and design with the same size engine. Funny thing is I have the same problem with both of them. They both are hard to get running after they sit for a while. They both are starved for gas and in both cases I end up needing to get to the carb and squirt some gas... (read more)

After many years of riding motorcycles the scooter bug has hit hard. This little bike is just a joy...nimble and well made. The 73 mpg makes for guilt-free riding and I just can't stay off this thing.
I weigh 215 lbs and honestly feel it has adequate power, however highway riding is not my pleasure. Roads posted for 55 mph are fine, but I do not like to push a 250 cc motor, even if this Honda engine can take it.

This thing is HUGE. It is WAYYY too big. It's got a fair bit of power, and decent enough storage, but besides being probably the ugliest two wheeled vehicle I have ever seen, it's just too big. It's built more as a commuter than a touring bike, and it shines there, it gets reasonable mileage in the 60-70mpg range even around town. It'd be fine for touring too because you dont need to go 80mph. On most highways 75 is speeding anyways. And the 4 stroke Honda engine is bulletproof.
Really... (read more)

Have owned over 20 different motorcycles ranging from 250 to 1500 cc. I have to say this is my first scooter. I find myself looking to upshift on the freeway, but that's only because I am trying to go past 80 mph. It is totally reliable and easy to maintain. This scooter has brought a new found respect for the scooter world and I would recommend that any motorcyclist give the super scooters a try for a week and you'll be sold on them. Storage, comfort, 70 mpg, ease of use, affordability and... (read more)

Great transportation vehicle that is practical and look cool. I ride a ZX6R Kawasaki Ninja, and sold that bike and kept this Honda Reflex 250. Plus the people I love prefer riding with this over sports bike any day. :D
Oh EASIEST motor vehicle to maintain yourself...valve adjustment, oil change...everything is just so easy. GREAT JOB Honda~~~!!! But why did you discontinue it? (read more)

I have a 2004 Reflex. I ride almost daily and commute 40 miles each day. I won't say it is a great bike on the highway. Here in Florida the highway traffic tends to run at 75+, The Reflex seems happiest at 55-60 on the highway. Around town, it's probably the best bike on the road. Plenty of room for storing a helmet, books or a bag of groceries. I get about 63 mpg which considering the 18 mpg I get from my truck is pretty incredible!
Took the bike in for an 8k maintenance check a few... (read more)

The Honda Reflex is the perfect around town scooter. If you want to ride on the higway, get a bigger bone, A Silverwing, a Burgman or a motorcycle. But if you ride is 10-20 miles around town the reflex is a fine ride. Easy to handle and lots of fun. (read more)

I have driven over 1500 miles and I have nothing bad to say about the reflex. I know that a few have made comments about the lack of speed on the highway. This unit can keep up with traffic on the interstate 65-75 mph however anyone buying this bike should know that this is not a touring bike, basicly made for city use. It is true that it has a breakdown between 30-40 mph, if you try to push it, if you just apply a constant roll on the throttle it will be less noticed. I started out getting... (read more)

The Honda Reflex is my 4th scooter in over 30 years, and THREE of them were Honda. I strayed, briefly, to another brand (a chinese brand called Tank), but regretted it immediately. The price and MPG was great, but, the poor design, and shoddy assembly left a lot to be desired. I always felt unsure and worried that there'd be an unpleasant surprise waiting for me whenever I fired it up.
Ive never felt this with any of my Hondas! (read more)

I have an after market exhaust, K-mod, tank bag, K&N filter, pulsing high beam, flashing stop strobe light, GPS. It runs all day on 2.5 gallons of gas, will run 80 but not recommended. Wouldn't dream of getting rid of it, too much fun. (read more)

I own a 2006 Honda Reflex and I would recommend this scooter for any rider, especially beginners. If you are looking for speed, this is not your bag. Every single aspect of this scooter is great - except for the speed. I'm thinking about getting some of the roller weights removed for some higher rpms (I've read that this is supposed to greatly increase acceleration). If Honda makes a 400 or 500cc reflex, I'll be the first to buy. I give it a 9 out of 10. If the acceleration was better I... (read more)

I purchased the 2006 Reflex Sport for myself for my birthday this year [I'm so spoiled]. My main reasons were gas mileage in the 60's, automatic transmission, and speeds beyond any US highway speed limit. I have always wanted a scooter for pleasure riding and necessary commuting. My choices were between the reflex, the SilverWing and the YAMAHA Majesty. Well, Yamaha wouldn't finance me, and Honda wouldn't give me the extra $2000 in financing for the Silverwing. So the Reflex it is.

My Honda Reflex is my second scooter. My first was a cheap mainland China make and frankly it sucked in terms of build quality and reliability. I road it for six months before deciding it had to go. I wanted a scooter that was everything the Chinese brand wasn't, and, after some research, I decided on the Honda Reflex. I'm short (5'4") and the relatively low seat height is a plus for me. I've heard some complaints about the stock Reflex windshield being too small, but at my height, it's... (read more)

I have a 2004 Honda Reflex which I picked up used with only 600 miles. I've been a motorcycle rider for over 25 years and this is my first scooter, just wanted to give it a try really. I've been so surprised by the competence and capabilities of this Reflex! What a great vehicle, runs easily on the freeway in Houston traffic, commutes 65 miles a day and averages about 64mpg. One thing that strikes me is the comfortable ride of this bike, the ergos are really good, I bet you could do a long... (read more)

This scooter became my primary source of transport after my car was stolen, recovered, and found ruined. Rather than spend several thousand to repair a car who's blue book value was less than that (it was 10 years old anyway but still had a few good years left in it!). I bought the Honda Reflex 250 after doing a lot of research into scooters. Honda's brand reliability swayed me, not to mention the Reflex's good looks. This is my first 2-wheeler, and it was a great way to break into riding a... (read more)

The Honda Reflex 250 is my first bike and I am glad I started on it but now I want more power.
I put a GIVI wind shield on it and I am now more satisfied with it but I am still thinking about getting a larger scooter or a much bigger Motorcycle.

I've had 20 motorcycles and 38 years of experience riding motorcycles in the dirt and on streets and this Honda Reflex 250 scooter is a blast. It's nimble, smooth, easy to ride, lightweight and sleek looking. I've had it 3 months and put 4,000 miles on it and ride to work virtually every day; something I didn't do on a motorcycle. I'm seriously considering selling my BMW and getting a larger scooter to get me around the country - that's how I feel about this scooter. (read more)

I have a new 2006 Honda Reflex 250. Ride it every day to work and love it! I have 1000 miles on it already and it just keeps running smoother and smoother. Average gas mileage is 60-65 mpg. I have had it up to 70 easily and I am a big man, around 300 lbs. Only complaint is the usual one for Reflex's and that is the poor acceleration between 30 - 40. It would be nice if the automatic tranny would hold off another 600 - 1000 rpm before shifting. The power is there, it just shifts too... (read more)

I've ridden motorcycles over 50 years & find my wrists just can't handle a heavier bike. My wife absolutely loves to ride (behind me) on our Honda Reflex 250, and we haul it in an enclosed cargo trailer and ride it everywhere we travel! It's quiet, comfortable, & just a joy to ride! We have ridden, double, to over 6000 feet in the Mt Laguna area, double on interstates & wouldn't hesitate to recommend it! (read more)

I am very happy with my Honda Reflex (AKA Jazz and Forza). I weigh 150 lbs. I cruise over 75 mph. The bike redlines at just over 80 mph. It will ride at 75+ mph all day without complaint. I had a mechanic remove 3 of the roller weights from the variator. The lighter variator provides much better accelleration 0 to 50 than before. My gas mileage dropped from 65 mpg to almost 60. Now, I have no trouble getting onto difficult highways like Boston's Route 1. The suspension is... (read more)

Have owned the Honda Reflex for two years and have ridden 28,800 miles with no mechanical trouble. I get 72-87 mpg (great tailwind for the 87). I change oil every 3000 miles but haven't had to do anything else. Starts every time, doesn't miss, seems to handle 6-7000 rpm without hurting itself. Dealer doesn't know how long the engine will last but use good oil and change it often. Mechanic friend says it will last my lifetime (I'm 63). Friend changed the drive belt for me at 21000 miles. I own a 2001 Honda Reflex that has comfortably performed flawlessly in the last 6 months of ownership, but I found the bike to accelerate hard then slow in it's ascend to a sedate climb. This prompted me to search online for a solution/cure. http://groups.google.com/group/Honda-Reflex-owners found a transmission modification that cost nothing, and allows the engine to run at peak horsepower during acceleration. It made a noticeable difference.
This is an extremely comfortable bike. I have... (read more)

I've owned my 2001 Honda Reflex 250 Scooter since February of 2002 and I love it. I ride it to work occasionally and take a few weekend trips on it. The only significant gripe I have is the transmission. I really wish it had one more gear for interstate highway speeds. Don't get me wrong, I keep up with 80 mph traffic, but it really sucks the fuel and runs at pretty high RPMs. One of these days, I will pass the Reflex off to my wife and buy a Silverwing. I traded up to the Honda Reflex 250 scooter from a Yamaha Zuma. I put 2000 miles on the Zuma in 4 months. That may colour my review of the Reflex.
The Reflex is very attractive. People love to check it out. It is plenty fast enough for highway cruising. I am never in anyone's way. It feels very solid on the highway. In heavy winds I feel like I could be blown off of the bike, not like the bike is effected by the wind. riding 2 up it is a bit slower, but still able to go well faster... (read more)
