My main reason for buying the Sagem MYX-6 was for work. I use a camera a lot for this. I was very impressed with the quality of the pictures it would take most of all in poor light conditions. The 3 other guys I work with were so impressed too they all brought one. So now the biggest plus of all is we can exchange all sort of info via the infa red. I love the MYX-6! It's a great camera phone, I love the 4 zoom options. The ability to mess around with the pictures after you have saved them, like tinting it and embrossing it. I have had this phone half a year now and still hardly any problems! There is a slight occasion when it may freeze, and after recovered it will loose alot of battery. I picked the Sagem MYX-6 because it was a nice cheap and good camera phone but when I got it, it had a lot of way better stuff on it that is as good as like a £250 phone.

I bought this Sagem MYX- 6 mobile phone having read reviews which were expressing the excellence of it. I guess I was especially drawn to the different camera features it has such as embossing etc.
However I bought the phone thinking it would be good and it really is not at all! Everytime I use it, it breaks and just randomly freezes even when I'm in the middle of a call. Once it has froze the battery life goes down to practically nothing as well which doesn't help when the battery life...

Sos but I have had a Sagem MYX-6 and I have to admit it did sometimes freeze, but not during calls? the battery life is alright but not the best, but average (you can get around 2 days out of it). But there is a solution to it freezing, it's due to the phone's memory being reasonably high, e.g sounds and screensavers, (which use quite a lot) so if you delete some of these so you have around 700kb left on the phone you shouldn't have any probs. The other thing is caller photos, get rid of them, because sometimes the phone struggles a bit. Other than that, it's an excellent camera phone for the money. Highly recommended.

At first the Sagem MYX-6 was very good, although the screen often freezes for several minutes and often the battery needs to be taken out in order to stop this. It will not send photo messages and it is very slow when tryin' to type a text. Also due to the on/off button being on the front it is switched on/off very easily which is not very efficient. Disappointing, as it looks an attractive phone. (read more)

The Sagem MYX- 6 mobile phone was free with the talk plan that I selected, and having sent back two phones from supposedly better manufacturers, I wasn't holding out too much hope for this model. But even though I've only had the phone a week, I can't believe how I've fallen in love with it. There are one or two aspects which I think could be better of course, but I imagine that once I've got more used to the phone I'll have forgotten all about these. (read more)

This Sagem MYX- 6 mobile phone was free with my package and i think it is fine. You need to get a case pronto due to the size of the screen (must be prone to scratches). Had no problems with it yet, just the small buttons but if thats all i've got to moan about then thats not bad!! (and believe me i'm a fussy sod!!) (read more)

Four way scroll makes life very easy when exploring this Sagem MYX- 6 mobile phone!
Menus are nicely and very clearly laid out, also adding to the ease in which this phone is presented.
The shortcuts that are added in the phone for the camera and wap page, are brilliant if you dont want to scroll through the menu to find them, but it can be annoying trying to get out of them, if you accidently hit them.
The digital camera is great. The fact that it has a cover, is another unique add-on to...

I don't really see why this phone wouldn't work in warm climate, but as I live in Northern Ireland, and the weather here does leave a lot to be desired, I would not be totally certain on this point, although it is an excellent phone and I have not had any glitches or complaints as to the standard of capability it has.

<br>The only thing I can think to save the screen from scratches, as it is very large, would be to put it inside one of those leather pouches with the clear screen cover, although I myself do not find these the most attractive, so you could always just put a tiny bit of plastic, or cling film around the screen to prevent scratches.
<br>
<br>You should really seriously consider getting this phone as it is truly superb and will serve you well.

Sagem myX-6 is what I’m using presently, though I’m yet to really understand the phone very well but I believe it’s a good phone for everyone to try. My concern here is no other thing but to find out if it's possible for one to know the fake from the original. I hear there are two types; one is the Europe type while the other is Dubai type. From the information I gathered the Europe type is stronger and better than the Dubai one, so how do one really get to know which is which when trying to buy one for himself in this part of the world called Africa!
<br>Well, I know there are some ways in getting to know the serial no, manufactured date and county etc of some phones. Is this also applicable to Sagem myX-6, and if yes, how do one get that of Sagem myX-6? This is very important so that I could use the information to know which of the product I’m having presently.

I first got my Sagem MYX- 6 mobile phone because it was a cheap camera phone but i realised how much you got for your money. it has an amazing amount of features and is very easy to use. i have had problems with orange so i recommend getting vodafones own version of the myx6 which has a different cover and java. What a mobile phone. The Sagem MYX- 6 mobile phone has to be the bargain of the century. Far better than the nokia 7250i and sharp gx10i as friends have these and compare none at all to this beauty. I bought the Sagem MYX- 6 at the same time as my friend bought another phone at hte same price, everthing about my sagem is better although he doesen't want to admit it. Ok his phone supports java but only certain games and there isn't enough space for many! For £100 it couldn't be much better. Recommend to all even people who can afford £300 phones. I am from Hong Kong and have used Sagem myX-6 since July, 2003. In the past half year, I have tried a lot of mobile phones, such as Nokia 6100, 7250, 6600,7650; SonyEricsson T610,Z200, Z600, P900 and some Samsung phones. I really found that myX-6 is the best one. I have heard that myX-7 will have bluetooth and can use MMC/SD card. But I can only find a little information about myX-7 on the net. Well i am a sagem mobile phone engineer. i have read a lot of these problems that people are having and have came to the conclusion that you have overloaded your phone. "overloading" is a term that we use which basicly means that you have asked your phone to do too many things at once eg. (excessively pushing buttons). Also part of the problem is keeping too many messages, ringtones etc. if you delete a lot of your media you will find that your phone works perfectly. If you have anymore... (read more)

The comment about overloading the phone is not true. I've changed the phone 4 times. I'm now on my 5th Sagem MYX-6. They were all brand new. I haven't had a chance to overload them. They all had problems. The second one was a real cuckoo. It was full of problems. I've asked Orange to send me my money back but they refuse. They'll only keep replacing the phone until I get one that works properly. Needless to say, by now I absolutely hate this phone.

On the first question here (downloading pics you take with your phone to your pc), my solution was to buy an Infra-Red receiver which you plug in the USB socket of your pc (comes with CD rom for the software bit). Very easy to use, about £15-29 (in London).

<br>Second issue with the MyX-6: overloading. Although 'I' am very happy with my phone (been using it since August '03), I've noticed that if there are too many photos, etc. the menu navigation gets slow and the phone even 'freezes' (like Windows does when a pc crashes).

<br>Two problems I still haven't found a solution for:
<br>- how do I send a sms to several persons (other thand save the txt than sending it to every one of the recipients)?

<br>- how do I save on my pc my phonebook? (got a 400 names phonebook and would hate to lose all my numbers if the phone gets stolen or lost...)

Have just received my MYX-6 and very pleased with it overall, however, I can't turn off the vibrate alert! I have of course, changed settings to 'no vibrate' and put the phone on silent but the phone still vibrates every time message received. I want an entirely silent phone when in meetings etc. Any ideas anyone???

In the settings /sounds part of the phone there is a silent mode for meetings just set it to active and all that will hapen is the keypad will light up.

I've gone into setting/sounds and activated the silent mode but still the phone vibrates. Any other ideas ?? Actually you can activate silent mode by pressing and holding down the key at bottom left of keypad *

I sent my first Sagem MYX- 6 back because the zoom on mobile phone mode packed up after about ten photos. They sent a replacement but I sent it back because two of the buttons didn't work. The third one arrived and once again the zoom wasn't working correctly. I honestly think this phone is a bummer. (read more)

Shortly after christmas i had a fair bit of money so i decided to get a new phone, i started comparing prices with the help of kelkoo.co.uk and found that for £107 i could get what looked to be a very good quality mobile with a camera. The bad thing is that,I already replaced it, as it was Intermittently freezing & re-setting itself! However even d replaced one looks defective cuz its doing d same thing,it happens more when stand-by,reading an sms or using GPRS connected via IRDA! This Sagem MYX- 6 mobile phone is very good for the money. I'll organise the review into sections:
Camera
------
Very good and very clear pictures. It's a VGA camera therefore it creates 640x480 pictures which translates to 1.3 megapixels on a digital camera. The phone also automatically adjusts the brightness while you look at the screen, but it still has some settings like nighttime, scenery, etc.
The best bit about the camera though is the ability to add bits to it on the phoe without...

I purchased the Sagem MYX- 6 mobile phone and signed up with T-Mobile specifically to take large images and to then email them to a website. T-Mobile has a limit on message size of 100k (unlike Vodafone where it is 30k) but that is totally misleading as it seems that the software on the phone does a Jpeg compression to ensure image sizes of around 30k. The compression results in a poor quality image - so much so that I am planning taking it back for a refund unless more testing changes my mind. (read more)

As far as I am concerned, the handset simply provides access to services and some of the services in turn depend on the network provider.

I got this phone after reading some reviews on this site and i was expecting good things and it proved to deliver. all aspects of the Sagem My-X6 are good and at only £99.99 it does all that the more expensive phones do and has a better quality camera than most of the other camera Phones out there. I just got this Sagem MYX- 6 mobile phone 2day and i think it's great! i would recommend this to anyone. The camera has a brilliant image and can zoom 4 times. After u take your photo u can add little pictures like crowns and stars also u can add frames. U can make anyone of your photos your wallpaper.The only bad points are that there is no java and u can't download games from vodafone live. Also the buttons are a bit small so fast texters fingers might slip. (read more)

i have had this Sagem MYX- 6 phone since september and it great what can i say i had a sony j7 and this knocks the stuffing out to of it. i dont have to charge the phone well that what it feels like anyway i can make the phone last for about 18 days and that with all the power saving stuff and with about 2 hours of conversation which is wow ohh and you must get the data cable for this item you can then save the pics as high qualty and them move them too your computer and they are high... Although there are some serious problems with the Sagem MYX- 6 mobile phone i still belive it was worth buying it! It has only 2 unforgivable problem: NO JAVa and the vodafone live menu. I will only comment the last one! Vodafone menaged to bust this phone up completly! the 65000 colour screen uses only 4 coloures inside the menu! Besides, one of the most important features voda live has been designed for that is downloading games is not possible! Vodafone does not support infusio game... (read more)

What a damn good review that was, no honestly! The phone sounds great! I take it battery life is ok as that is what I really wan't to know after suffering the wrath of the Motorola C333 since last Christmas!!!

Oh yes I forgot to include battery life! Well, it's 10 days standby time and around 3 hours talk time as far as I know, plenty of power for some serious phone-abuse! It's a couple of weeks on and I still love this phone, it's many features come in so handy it's untrue. And that camera is a right laugh, i've had loads of good use out of it! Only change im going to make is to buy a silver facia for it as I think it would look far better than my blue one.

Damn, this review is the best, though it took all the time i had but it has helped me making my decision and that is to getup now and go and get that phone called sagem myx-6. please don't get me wrong, i am not being stupid.i desperately want to get a phone right now and i am saving up for motorola V525 0r V300. after going to the sagem website, i even found more evidence to assist your review. the revolution is ver huge compare to those two phones that i have mentioned earlier. so thanx very much i hope this review and others can help others in making their decision.

That's a great review and after reading it I went and got the MYX-6 straight away from Orange. Thanks for all the information you really did help me then. I'm having real fun with this phone especially after having a Nokia 3330.

I have had this Sagem MYX- 6 mobile phone for almost a week now and just love it! The screen is of very good size and resolution and with 65000 colours is very good quality. The camera takes fanatstic photos and the zoom is something that is not on a lot of integrated cam phones but should be! The memory is also amazing. 2.3mb is easily enough for over 100 photos and loads of recordings or polyphonics. I bought the Sagem MYX- 6 thinking it wouldn't be very good as the price of it was £120! But this phone is easily as good as the gx10 and the gd87 and the camera is much better than the both of them! The photos are very clear even when it is zoomed right in! I currently have 86 photos in my phone and the memory isnt even half full, and i have 78 pictures which i have downloaded from the free wap so there is a good memory aswell. I have had this Sagem MY X 6 mobile phone for over a week now and despite still having a couple of days left on the free trial I think I will keep that phone. I'm upgrading from a Nokia 5210, and didn't keep the Nokia 6610 I first chose (keys awkward to type on and too close together, colour screen very hard to read in daylight, no camera, etc.).

I've had the phone for a year and it's been great. I've used the camera loads. Took literally hundreds of pictures.

<br>The one thing I didn't manage to resolve during the time I've been using the phone was how to send a message to several recipients (something that's easily doable on the Nokia user interface).
<br>
<br>Sometimes the phone did lock or freeze but that didn't happen very often. I never tried to use the wap thing much but it never really worked anyway (O2's fault?).
<br>
<br>Now the + points, the things I liked the most with this phone:
<br>- easy to handle (not too flimsy or miniaturesque), and the perfect weight (not too light not too heavy either)
<br>- great camera, excellent idea to have a cover over the lens at the back, having a zoom (x4) too and different lighting settings was nice as well
<br>- big enough memory for the features offered (remember no radio, no music player, no bluetooth, no java)
<br>
<br>Now is time for me to move on and my eyes are set for either the Sony-Ericsson K700i or the Nokia 6230, I'll decide after I've seen and tested both.

The Sagem MY X 6 mobile phone is a very good phone which is designed to compete with the top of the range mobiles on the market, it looks minly like a Sony T610 but has a higher resoloution screen making it a very succesful phone with still an affordible price, when I 1st got the phone it took me about 5 minutes to get used to using and I used to have a Nokia which is impressive on a user friendly scale. You can adjust the time the backlight stays on for, go to settings - others - energy saving - backlight. You can have it stay on for up to 30 seconds, however on the main standby screen it does go off after about five or six seconds. Top phone!

This phone is brilliant. To be honest, I had never heard of Sagem so when I received this phone it was a nice suprise. The photos that are taken are clear and large and you get good pictures even when you're on a night out! The quality of photos is far superior to any others that I have seen which are often small and very grainy.
The menu options are condensed and straightfoward and you don't need to read the instruction manual; it's all self explanatory. The ring tones are loud and clear...

I wasn't too sure what to expect from this phone, but I must say that it has really impressed me.
The screen must be the best of any mobile I have had (T100,SPV,sharp etc)and the camera is great, it takes sharp pictures with a great deph of field so you can see everything in the background, this is because it has a CCD chip (as used in digital cameras)rather than the CMOS chip that is used in most other phones.
The ringtones are loud & clear with some great preloaded ones such as the 'evil...
