Good Points: Fairly easy to operate

Bad Points: Rubbish software!!!! Lousy support Company customer services non existant

General comments: I bought the Kodak EasyShare DX4530 camera two years ago and installed the software on my then Windows 98 computer no problems. Having purchased a new computer recently very high spec running XP2 HE I tried to install the software - it immediately crashed the computer blue screen warnings etc. I deleted the software and went to Kodaks web site to download the latest version. Having installed it I rebooted and then found that it had completely locked my computer. Eventually managed to delete the program and phoned Kodak. Some hours later received a call from a technician telling me to download and run software from their site to clear out any elements remaining of the program and to redownload. A: The software I was advised to download was very buggy and did not run properly and B: when I eventually downloaded the program again the same thing happened. I now been trying to contact Kodak for 64 hours - they say they have a 24 hour phone back for technical support - like hell they do!!! I have installed a lot of software since I purchased my computer and have had no problems with anything else. So - I have a camera that I can't upload pictures from and so is fairly useless - Am considering buying another camera and it won't be a Kodak! Annie

This Kodak DX4530 review is a technophobe friendly zone. I appreciate that there are many people out there who just want a good digital camera but, like me, are a bit wary of the pages of jargon that usually dominates the information. I set out to buy a digital camera knowing absolutely nothing about them and with a simple bit of research have ended up buying an absolute beauty. I make no apology for the fact that this review will open with some simple explanation of the important jargon - vita ...

The autowhite balance on the Kodak Easyshare DX4530 can not faithfully photograph orange or yellow subjects. The software has no color correction capabilities. The drivers are not available without installing the software that conflicts with CD writing. The camera is not suitable for serious photographers. Lack of controls, marginal results, and software conflicts make this my last Kodak purchase.

Overall, for the price, I guess the Kodak Easyshare DX4530 is an okay digital camera. If you need to take close up pictures (within 2 feet), it works better than most cameras I've used. I feel Kodak makes you buy too many accessories to get the total use out of the camera. You might think about purchasing a more expensive camera that has the accessories. It's almost geared to be worked only with the Kodak docking station and printer dock and not a USB cable to PC. It doesn't come with rechar ...

The Kodak Easyshare DX4530 is a simple to operate digital camera with intuitave controls. There are dedicated buttons for "Share", "Menu" and "Delete". Intuitave and easy to use with AF system that can focus accurately on off-centre subjects (if wanted). User choses whether to save images on internal 32MB memory or SD card (I'm using a 256MB card), you can move images between card and camera memory. The bottom line - I'm happy with this camera and am buying the dedicated print station to g ...
