I have only had the Prestige Aluminium Pressure Cooker for a year and it has already fallen apart, both of the handles have come off, it`s just a good job nothing hot was in it at the time. I will see what prestige are willing to do about this and let you know. My last pressure cooker lasted me 18 years so it`s not the handling of it. (read more)

I have used a Prestige Pressure cooker all my married life... that is for 47 years and never had a problem with it at all. It was a life-saver and I have even made steamed puddings, jams, complete meals including vegetables and stews i.e. oxtail, lamb, beef, neck of mutton etc.... in fact anything cookable. Reliable and hard-wearing. Highly recommended as far as I am concerned. I wouldn't call replacing a gasket or safety valve a bad point at all... it is just normall wear and tear. I... (read more)

I would generally say I am satisfied with Prestige pressure cooker, quite affordable but you do have to do some maintenance like changing the silicon gasket with something tougher for the job, try some vulcanized food grade rubber gasket. Friendly advice, when you're done cooking immediately dose off the heat with tap water, old school but it helps the life of the gasket. (read more)

I bought my prestige pressure cooker in 1987 and only now need to get a new ring. I am surprised all the other reviews are so bad as I have used this cooker every week and have found it to be a life saver. I bought my cooker in South Africa and it has travelled with me to the USA and now the UK. (read more)

Do not buy this Prestige Aluminium Pressure Cooker in the UK. The company is well established in India and that is the only reason I bought it as there were other pressure cookers available in the market as well but this product that they are selling in UK has been a disappointment to me. I used spares 2 go, they will seek out the right parts for your pressure cooker, it does take a bit of time though and cost is roughly 12,50 for a ring. Customer service quick to respond to calls and very polite. may be worth a try.

Pressure cooker was returned to prestige, but very disappointed with outcome. Prestige placed the fault at my door. I would not buy another Prestige pressure cooker! (read more)

I have owned this for a year and it cost me around £18. I have already spent £13 on replacement parts, i.e., a safety plug because I lost the ring and have just ordered a new gasket because steam seems to be escaping, although I don't know if the gasket is the problem. Very dissatisfied with this pressure cooker. I have been using pressure cookers for 40 years and have never had to replace parts like I have on this one.
I would give this one a miss. I'll never buy this type of...

Having read all the above comments it would seem that since Meyer took over the Prestige name the quality of the product is not what it was! I too have used Prestige pressure cookers for the last 40 plus years, and it wasn't until I tried to get a replacement handle for my old 2020 that I found out that spares are no longer available!! This seems like a cynical ploy to get people to replace their old models with Meyer"s inferior new ones, no thank you!!

Having read all the poor reviews it strikes me that the quality of Prestge pressure cookers is not what it used to be, and this must have something to do with Prestige being taken over by Meyer. I have used Prestige cookers for over 40 years, and only found out about the takeover when I contacted Prestige for a spare handle for my old Ultra 2020 to be told that they held no spares for the pre takeover models. This seems like a cynical ploy to get people to replace their old models with inferior new ones.
