Kieran was very helpful and patient with me. I am in the process of setting up a new website. Hi Thank you for your review, our transfer prices are set to the same as that of a gTLD registrar. So I do not agree that it is a "Rip-Off"
If it is a uk domain you are wanting to transfer you can contact Nominet directly and they will change the tag on multiple domains for a 1 off fee, so if you have more than one domain it is usually cheaper to do it this way.

damion was patient and helpful and gets 5 stars and in fact once i had modified the ftp password both on my control panel and the modify ftp drop down of microsoft Publisher, the site was uploaded by the publisher programme with no further trouble so i didn't need to download a ftp program. my online request for clarification answered by an advisor (definitely not 5 star) did not answer my question which was simply which password related to the ftp site: i.e. the entry to email one or the... Transferred my domain to Names then tried setting up eMail. Didn't however update the nameservers. I raised a ticket with Names and received a very prompt and helpful response with detailed instructions on how to make the required changes. So far excellent service. (read more)

I had repeatedly ignored the renewal reminder emails... By the time I got to renew the domain was suspended. I opened a ticket online and within 20 mins had a response staying it was available to renew again in my control panel. Very fast and efficient service :) (read more)

I am a new customer but in the short time I have used the service I have found staff to be friendly and helpful. They have sorted out a number of issues with knowledge, courtesy and speed. Namesco have always provided me an excellent product but I can see why their customer service wasn't highly regarded - however they have changed a lot for the better over the last 18 months and I'll be sticking with the for the forseeable future. I reached out on twitter and they replied very quickly. I explained my problem to them (that I couldn't access my control panel as I was trying to access form a country other than my address). Eddie got back to me, took my details and fixed the problem straight away. My only complaint was that it wasn't obvious for me if there was somebody I could email, and I couldn't file a support ticket without logging in (which I couldn't to). One of my domain names kept coming up with an error notice that wouldn't allow me to update the page every time I logged in. A phone call to tech support at Namesco saw a ticket being launched after the agent had confirmed it was happening only on that domain. It was a Bank Holiday Monday that I phoned in and by 9.30 the next morning the fault had been repaired and we carried on posting as normal. Great service! (read more)

My account had been firing back incorrect failed message delivery notices to my contacts - which many had found annoying (not good if you're in business for yourself). I logged an email delivery issue with names.co.uk via their support service. I received a response from them promptly which allowed the problem to be cleared within 30 minutes and normal service was resumed. The solution was clearly explained in the email I was sent in plain English. Very importantly, my contacts are happy again. (read more)

Without doubt the most helpfull assistance I have ever received anywhere on the web, nothing seems to be to much trouble, I have been with Namsco for about 13yrs and have never had cause to complain, no matter how technical (or in my case simple) the requests.have been, all my support requests have been answered within 36-48hrs (and there has been a few). Ive been using namesco for over a year now and it's served me well. I hadn't realised my account was due to be renewed and went over my payment date. I paid and my account was reactivated however my email history had been wiped. I called namesco and it was solved the next day without hesitation. Hi Eddie,
Oddly enough, all of the contact details are - and were - correct. What surprised -and annoyed me - is that I got no notification whatsoever. I have received numerous other mails and notification, so it wasn't a question of them being blocked by a spam filter.
My argument was that as a last resort, before the URL was terminated, an attempt should have been made to even text me. It cost me €100 that I could ill-afford, but couldn't afford not to pay it either.
This is notification on to of CP page:
IMPORTANT NOTICE
"Before using the control panel, please take a moment to check that your contact details are up-to-date. Failure to update this information will result in loss of service if you cannot be contacted regarding renewals."
Hard to blame me for thinking everything was aok. I came within a few days of potentially losing the URL permanently. I wasannoyed :-) But I got over it (at least until the credit card bill arrives). But, on balance, not the end of the world. I still feel that I have always been been very well treated by Tech Support.
I did - and still do - feel that we were both equally culpable and If your sales people were to offer me a free first year upgrade to Enterprise Hosting package, I would be absolutely ecstatic :-).

I first purchased some domain names from names.co back in 2001 and I was happy then. Things have moved on and I have recently purchased another 60+ domain names from them. when i first came across namesco about 2 years ago i was wrongly advised about domain names from 3 or 4 different sales staff ,of which ended up wasting several hundred pounds might even of been a thousand pounds ,they told me when i was starting my business to buy as many domains relating to what you do as you can ,so as i was in the adult industry i started buying every domain name i could think of with adult wrote on it only to be told as i was having my website built by a great company... my friend recommended a hosting company (names.co.uk) as i'd had terrible service from 134reg. I contacted there Sales team who were helpful and not pushy or cold. Not only did they advise on the right packages they assisted me there and then to set up my email, no transfer To another department, no wasting my time or money!!
