    I suppose it's no surprise that there's a lot of negative feedback for laptopsdirect, it seems like only negative comments and experiences deserve a review now a days. In fact, it feels like I'm the only person out there who posts positive reviews when I feel a company has done well.
    I've been using laptopsdirect for years now, in fact this is my forth laptop from them. The seem to have the lowest prices around, a few places are comparable but the either look like cowboy sites or its on a poor spec machine.
    This time round I bought a Samsung R519, a cracking little machine from an up and coming brand. Samsung seem to be pulling all the stops out recently, they look nice and are bloomin reliable. Delivery was next day even though I chose the cheapest 3 -4 day option so very happy there. Have to do the windows 7 upgrade which is a bit of a pain and it's not actually free but thats through sammy. No doubt I'll be using laptopsdirect again in the coming years. Five cheap laptop stars.

    Please do not use this site. They have no respect for customers. Placed an order for a laptop and they had a discounted price. However, once they discovered the product is in demand they bumped up the price and decided to cancel my order and not fulfil it. If you speak to their sales department they keep saying the product is in stock and will ship immediately if order is placed. The customer support team says they have no stock available.     I have tried to buy laptops from these people three times. The first time, it all went really well and I got my laptop in 24 hours. Great.

    The second time, I place an order for goods described as "in stock" on the website only to find that they were magically out of stock the second the order went through.     This company is a joke...
    I ordered 2 laptops and few other item from this company because they claim to be the best in the UK... (which i think its the worst in the universe)
    they took the money out of my account with no problem without contacting... well they contacted me to send ID to them then so tehy can have to money. after they took the money.. it was like trying to talk to a brick wall... totally no help at all.. keep making excuse and giving me false delivery date. absolutely NO communi ...

    I would give them no stars but I have to put at least 1!

    Don't buy off these liars. I have reported them to trading standards for misleading advertising. The laptop I wanted was out of stock but they were happy to take my money. When it came in stock the price had gone up by £100. They would not supply it at the price I paid. I had the choice of a refund or pay the new price. Aparently this is legal. Usual story of the consumer getting screwed.

    Purchased a Acer Laptop in July 2009, Hard Drive packed up, telephone Laptops Direct, they give you a Acer number.....3 hours later you get in touch with someone...in india....they collected the laptop 2 weeks later....kept it for 8 weeks........2 weeks after recieving it.....same problem again.......another 7 weeks later...get it back again........and guess what.....it now gone for its 3rd visit........so I wouldnt ever go near another acer....or Laptops Direct ! ps waiting now for it to come b ...

    What a shambles! I wish I had read reviews first. I ordered my laptop and it arrived promptly and I was very happy. I had paid for the Pre purchase inspection too, since I am not really a computer person, I thought it would be best. My computer came from HP with Vista on it so I began the process of getting my free upgrade to Windows 7. It was then I discovered that the wrong operating system had been installed!     An absolute shower. I was quoted 5 days delivery to Spain. Day 10 and still waiting.
    E mails go unanswered. And their Customer Service (!) line....it's an expensive 0871 number (especially from Spain)....You are made to wait for ages ("You are number 9 in the queue")...a cynical money earner.
    I tried to cancel/get a refund. Of course, ignored. How do they stay in business?

    Please don't buy from this company. I wish I'd read these reviews before I did! The staff are extremely rude, no reply was received from two complaints I sent via their compaints form.
    The offer, that persuaded me to buy the laptop that I did, had expired the previous month so I was unable to take advantage of it.

    I now have no laptop at all as after only a year the hard drive has gone! I really don't think there's any pooint complaining to this company and I certainly wouldn't buy from them ...

    In my experience, laptops direct are good if you can order online and the item is in stock. (but don't trust their website that it is in stock) If you have to deal with their customer service that's where the nightmare starts. e.g. for faults or any other issues with your order. I ordered a netbook from laptops direct which did not match the specification advertised on their website. So far it has taken over 2 weeks to get it collected and through the inspection process.     I bought a refurbished laptop from laptops direct about 4 weeks ago. After a few days, the screen began freezing so I called their customer services department to arrange an exchange. I must admit, after reading the reviews, I was nervous about calling them and to be quite honest was prepared for a fight, but it turns out I couldn't have been more wrong!

    I would be very wary of using this company! do so at your own peril.
    Atrocious service, false promises made which have cost me a loss of earnings.
    Their staff promise anything to get you off the phone but the promises never materialise. There is no ownership of customer issues and they simply don't care!

    Laptops Direct are horrendous. Please do not buy from here. I ordered a Sony Vaio but too my horror they actually sent me two laptops and charged me for two...unfortunately they were delivered to my work address so did not know I had 2 until later. Thinking that I would just have to call customer service and obtain a refund for the laptop I did not order and uplift was a big mistake...most ignorant customer service person I have ever spoken too insisting it was not their fault and would not pass ...

    I will never use these again.
    Faulty laptop received, promised return and refund. Four failed collections.
    Parcelforce claim collections were never advised. One week later still no collection and four hundred pounds out of pocket.

    Laptops direct very quick to deliver but after sales and returns are a complete nightmare.

    A disatrous company. I am going to dispute the purchase with my credit card company.

    I was a little hesitant to order from Laptopsdirect.co.uk after reading some of the negative comments posted here, however they were the cheapest around (£60 cheaper than HP) and did have the laptop that I was looking for in stock. I had originally placed on order directly with HP, but after a couple of days, HP informed me they could not deliver on time and did not know when the laptop would be back in stock, so I promptly cancelled.

    Wouldn't recommend Laptopdirect to anyone. Bad customer service, their fast messaging is not working, cant reach them to exchange my Mac even there is no problem with Apple as they would exchange faulty laptop.

    Bought a refurbished netbook, £100 cheaper than anywhere. Worked great for a few days and then after a minor mishap, it wouldn't boot up. Called their customer services and tried to blag a replacement, but they insisted I talk first to an engineer. Thought, OK, we'll just have to say what they want to hear.     I was slightly wary about ordering from laptops direct having read some of the bad reviews on here. However I decided to shop with them having found that the Laptop i was after was over £50 cheaper than anywhere else - even other internet shops.

    I liked the look and feel of the website and ordered an Acer 6930 on the web, at a brilliant price. I chose next day delivery at £14.95 (not too bad) especially since the overall price was over £45 still cheaper than elsewhere.

    It did what it said on the can, I looked up and down the website, bit slow in places, found the right product, checked it against other suppliers, ordered and paid over the phone, collected the same evening with the memory upgrade done. Thanks guys would highly recommend to others.
