I was recommended Laptops Direct by a friend, who must have been very lucky as his laptop arrived next day.

I was on laptops direct website in the process of purchasing a laptop, but had a problem with the promotional code I was using. So I called laptop direct and a sales person answered.

In a word Laptops Direct are 'useless'. After I ordered with them my order was cancelled, for an unexplained reason. Anyone apart from the sales team was impossible to contact. The sales team did not want to know or help. Its a complete mystery how they are still trading in the current climate, given there appalling customer service.

NEVER USE laptopsdirect.co.uk. At the moment I'm in the middle of the traumatic experience of dealing with that company. The story is the same as that of cortez1990 - over 20 laptops in stock and 2 hours after charging (overcharching I should say) my credit card, they apparently discovered that :

I wish I had read the reviews on this website before ordering from Laptops Direct. I don't think i've ever experienced this level of incompetance from any company or organisation so far in my life. They cannot even get the very basics right. I placed an order over the phone and was told the laptop was in stock and would be with me next day. After 3 days nothing, despite receiving an email saying it had been sent. Chased up, to be told won't be in stock for 3 weeks....what??? Cancelled the order. ...

Absolutely rubbish company, only use them as an absolute last option. I read their reviews on here and stupidly ignored them. They really are as terrible as people make them out to be. I ordered 2 computers from Laptops Direct one day and a third the second. On the second day I chose a computer at a disclosed price. They then after I placed the order said the price was incorrect and that it was approx. £150 more. A disappointing experience dealing with Laptops Direct and much frustration & hassle trying to get all of my money back. More than 1 month later I have still not been refunded in full and have raised a dispute against them through my credit card provider.

Worst ever company, they are very quickly in taking your money, but not delivering the goods. I been waiting now 3 weeks for my laptop to arrive from Laptops Direct and it still hasn't come, so I cancelled my order. Let's see how long it will take for them to actually refund my money. I attempted to buy a tablet PC early in March 2009 ; first they delivered a damaged computer, then they were unable to provide a replacement so eventually refunded, but excluded the delivery charge. I had to raise a customer service enquiry and eventually got all my money back. Six weeks later I have no laptop, yet I feel grateful to have got all my money back, despite going through a whole load of hassle and being out of pocket from all the national rate calls to customer services.

I would not know what the product is like, as Laptops Direct.co.uk still have not sent it to me, although they claimed to have had the stock at the time of purchase. After numerous phone calls and leaving messages, l have requested my money back and would rather pay a little more for the laptop as if they take this long to deliver a product, how long would l have if there was a fault ?

The worst customer service EVER. They refuse to even discuss honouring the extended 3 year warranty on the Fujitsu Siemens laptop my 13 year old son saved up a full year to buy himself. In the view of Laptops Direct the power cord on laptops aren't designed to be unplugged!! Therefore my son must be responsible for the power socket on the motherbaord stopping working. NEVER EVER BUY FROM LAPTOPS DIRECT
