    Good Points: Fantastic food
    Lake view from lounge

    Bad Points: Decor needs updating

General comments: My husband and I have stayed at the Best Western Beech Hill Hotel three times. The first time was for Valentines Day in 2002, and had a somewhat Fawlty Towers experience! We waited 45 mins for complimentary coffee in the lounge when we arrived, the bath water was black, the kettle didn't work, we were delivered the wrong morning papers and wine at dinner, the waitress refused to wipe our table clean before breakfast, the breakfast buffet was cold, the wallpaper was coming off the walls, we were sat next to a large party of noisy residents for our romantic Valentine's dinner so that we couldn't even hear one another! However, when I wrote to complain, the manager invited us to stay again for free, saying that there had been many changes, and we couldn't have had a more different experience. We stayed there again (at our expense this time!) in May 2004, and had a great time once again.
