    the latest Softwin bitdefender product range 2010 is unfinished and should still be a beta being tested, many parts of it simply do not work properly including the automatic update, i upgraded from the 2008 product and may go back to it as at least it did work, if you are thinking of buying it check out the bit defender forums and see for yourself how many things are wrong with it

    Softwin Bit Defender started to play up after a short period of time, contacted suprt services several times but never received a reply to any emails sent

    I have used Softwin Bitdefender for over 2 years now and in general, once setup, it works quite well. However I am less enamoured of the more recent 2009 version. It is much more intrusive - with no real extra benefit. It also adds about 3 minutes to my boot time. Most important of all, it doesn ' t seem to protect my system very well.

    Just 2 days after Christmas, my work laptop became infected by a series of Trojans and worms. I immediately did a scan but Bitdefender didn't find or remove anyt ...

    Antivirus: good results compare with Zone Alarm
    Firewall: after training is non-intrusive and has Game mode
    Antispan: works really well and uses "white" / "black" lists
    2 licence: one price.. for both computers I have...
    Updates are easy to apply (auto or manual)
    Good detection and protection for the money... It needs average resorces & space for installation and running...

    Strangled my pc in my opinion, also did not detect viruses that a FREE av installed to replace this product found. I have had this IS2008 installed for about a month, having nearly a year left on my subscription I have now un-installed. I do not recommend this product.

    After enduring other products that made my PC run like porridge for years and being completely baffled by their mysterious command modules - Bit Defender is a breath of fresh air to me (the average home PC user) who hasn't time for anything that does not do a reasonable job - Now! ... and ...Every time I or soemone else switches on our home PC!

    Softwin Bit Defender is absolutely NOT removing 3 of my viruses it thinks they're backups of some things - what a stupid piece of software.
    I does not even give you the correct file path so you can manually delete the files.

    And as far as Ad aware or Spy ware, after cleaning my entire computer using Bit defender the Spyware Doctor found 47 contaminated files and 10 critical registry infections.
    I do not recommend this Anti Virus Software at all.

    I have been using NOD32 for ages. When installed BitDefender picked up 6 different viruses straight away. The version used is BitDefender 9 Pro Plus, build 9.5. This version has its own firewall and spam-filter, which seem to function OK on this version.

    Over all a very good and highly recomended App.

    Softwin Bit Defender works best with a third party firewall with the Bit defender Std.

    The Softwin Bit Defender free part is OK in finding viruses. Upgrading would solve and shield the viruses before entering your system. A most sophisticated antivirus for its 13meg download.

    I was initially impressed with the Softwin Bit Defender as it picked up viruses/trojans that Norton had not detected. I'd have to say that the virus scanner is excellent. The rest of the "suite" is pretty much useless, the worst part being the firewall which doesn't prevent incoming hacking attempts and leaves ports open - 25, 80, 139, 143 and a couple of others. The anti-spam set up feature springs into life when you open Outlook Express and then promptly freezes (CTRL,ALT,DEL into Task Manager ...

    This is a great program, I use the Pro version of Softwin Bit Defender that includes all the bells and whistles needed for complete protection. I have been using Norton for 10 years and it has failed numerous times in protecting my sytem. I update it every time I go online and it still misses scanned items. I did my first scan with Bitdefender and found 6 viruses that have been on my machine that Norton has missed. Bitdefender also scans RAR and ZIP files automatically. Online chat with tech sup ...

    I found this Softwin Bit Defender Anti Virus Software when searching online scan engines. It was the only one of 3 I tried to find my problem. The online scan took almost 2 hours, the free version scans in about 1 hour.
