Good Points: Compact size, optical viewfinder, RAW file support, 28mm 35mm equivalent, tilt and swivel 1.8 inch screen makes it a real plus being able to compose shots holding the camera from the ground to overhead and still able to compose your shot, long battery life.
Bad Points: Slow to power up, slow to write to file, not ultra wide angle.
General comments: A decent Olympus product with the tilt and swivel screen a big plus.

I have had the Olympus C-5060 digital camera for about 18 months. All of a sudden the camera just freezes, you can't do anything! Now the lens starts going crazy, in and out, the menu comes up and stays there, I can't even get it to shut off! I take out the battery and then put it back. After leaving it out for a few days, it seems to adjust. I am very disappointed in this EXPENSIVE camera!!

I`m satisfied with this camera, it takes very good pictures, especially inside. Wide angle and macro are very good. It has some problems with focus in dark.

The Olympus C-5060 is a great camera, and I bought it at an incredible price due to a typo on the Internet. I have taken it to Austria and taken lots of great photos.

DO NOT BUY OLYMPUS C-5060 DIGITAL CAMERA!
Olympus has a problem with part# VC7997 on these cameras that causes menus to pop up on LCD without touching buttons and buttons stop working. Numerous people are complaining about this problem on the Internet - go to yahoo groups, Olympus_405080. Olympus needs to recall the camera. Mine worked fine for almost 3 months before the problem arose so don't think yours won't fail.

The Olympus C-5060 is a great camera, but mine was faulty on receipt from Pixmania. Problems with pixels on the LCD screen causing a dot in the middle of the display. I've returned my defective 5060 asking for a replacement. I have to wait a month whilst they test it before I get another camera. Beware of long delays in getting repairs or replacements.

In ESP exposure mode, the pictures this digital camera returns are out of this world! I tried to use the Olympus C-5060's many other exposure settings (including spot metering), but still the ESP mode is almost 100% reliable in many extreme situations such as mixtures of dark shadow and high exposure. Also, I find the HQ resolution is perfectly adequate for even A4 size prints - I swear SHQ is of no noticeable improvement over HQ (so why use more space on your flash card?!).
