I'm quite fussy person and it always takes me ages to decide if I buy something or not. Especially if it's a car. I like to do a lot of research and find out from different sources and people their opinion. I used Autotrader to look for a toyota car. I wasn't sure at the time which model I want- aygo or avis. They both seemed to be perfect cars for me. I found autotrader information very useful and the amount of people that are selling their used cars through the website allows you to chose the best option. The only thing I would like to see there though are comments from other people who owe the cars. This will be even more useful! Overall good experience and helpful.

Autotrader is the default website for UK users looking for a secondhand car. Certainly the market leader by some margin, it has moved more mainstream than it used to be and I suspect that the majority of cars for sale are now from dealers, whereas at the outset this was much more about person to person. A great resource if you nkow what you want, but falls short if you need help deciding - review content, specification comparison and test data are all very much playing second fiddle to classifie ...- Read kingofreviews's review (110 words)

Never ever will I give autotrader.uk another penny. Bought insurance through them - initial cost £180. Sent them proof of no claims (via post) - they never received. Sent proof via email (they never received - never informed me and now have taken another £300 via my credit card). Asked to cancel insurance and have been informed that I will have to pay £176.72 for a short term insurance PLUS £35 cancel fee. Not bad (for them) for less that two months insurance.

Autotrader is a very good site for finding cars at a good price though so many dealers are on here. I had huge difficulties finding the location on their maps though as really old fashioned.
I would buy a car though form here or even consider somewhere like ebay !- Read mbay's review (49 words)

We are a small car dealers and up until recently had been spending around £3000 per year with Autotrader for several years which used to result moderate results in sales. Earlier this year we found out without any prior notice whatsoever that they were putting their prices up substantially overnight, and our £3k annual cost was now going to be £4k instead. Just what you need as finances start to get tougher for everyone! I spoke to them to see if we could negotiate something ...- Read Fidd's review (150 words)

I placed an on-line ad to sell my car and paid £25 for two weeks. My last car sold through Auto Trader 3 years ago only cost £15. I got no response to ad for a week other than a company www.webuyanycar.co.uk even though I said 'no canvassers' in my ad. I also has a number of calls from 070 'personal numbers' and one from overseas. These types of numbers are allegedly linked with phone scams - call back and you'll be charged high rates or worse be exposed to fraud. Auto Trader reali ...- Read spin26's review (366 words)

Used this site a fair few times in the past years but feel the prices both advertising and the magazine are far too high now. I think the high price of advertising can be a surprise particularly if the magazine doesn't get the circulation. Also with sites such as Ebay, they really cannot compete.- Read chat's review (57 words)

I live in sussex and advertised my used cars (5) on autotrader and www.usedcarsinsussex.co.uk. Autotrader cost me £19 for one week and used cars in sussex .co.uk was free. I received 6 calls from Autotrader and 4 from used cars in sussex website, I sold 2 from each, but look at the difference in price. I didn't have to speak to anybody on the used cars in sussex.co.uk website, just uploaded the car. The way it was displyed was perfect, all information at the punters fingertips. I have to ...- Read tommo1's review (118 words)

I was using Autotrader to sell my fleet of vans and trucks however I found the site was too costly for the limited response I recieved. I found sites like www.vansandtrucks.co.uk a lot more useful as it is free to place an ad and is a niche site specialising in in what I was selling.- Read stephenburke's review (64 words)

It took ages to load the photos of my car onto Autotrader. The next day the ad appeared on the web but without the photos - and have not yet been updated (the 6th June). Even worse I opted of the telesafe number but the web displays my mobile and home number.
I have told them about this and e-mailed them but nothing has changed.
Other than junk texts and calls have had no serious calls.
Something has gone very wrong - at least over the last week.- Read asiablue's review (107 words)

Auto Trader is a great place to trade in vehicles but a word of warning:
When I advertised my email address I got a couple of replies which were obviously (to a trained person like myself) attempts at fraud. Don't believe those guys who want to buy your car and "send shipper" without even having seen the car.- Read wouldilie's review (58 words)

I like Autotrader. they're a brilliant site to buy and sell cars. I sold my old Audi on Auto Trader a while back and have nothing but praise for them. The website layout is good and design is nice too. I often log onto www.autotrader.co.uk just for a look around even though I'm not after a new car at the moment. The do car reviews too which is always good.
I'm a regular site user and can't say anything bad about Autotrader.- Read Jimmy Junk Yard's review (98 words)

Autotrader is beyond doubt THE number one website in the UK for buying or selling vehicles of all types, you can purchase anything from a digger to a Ducati.
Exchange and Mart used to be almost level pegging with Auto Trader but it lost its way a few years ago, with an over complicated website. I also used eBay for a while but got fed up with time wasters phoning me with stupid low offers when selling, and dishonest sellers posting a description of the car which was a work of fiction.
