Good Points: Multiregion (not a standard feature) playback, picture and sound quality. Plays self burned dvd-r,+r,+rw and -rw disks.

Bad Points: Layer change takes an age, noisy when playing some disks only at some parts of a disk, these 2 points were usual for this era of Pioneer dvd players. Doesn't play Mp3's.

General comments: Bought this Pioneer Dv-530 DVD Player auto multiregion converted so it plays disks from any region including the Rce(this type of disk checks for the region code of the dvd player if it finds that the player can play more regions than just the one for the disk you'll get a message saying that the disk is not compatible with the player and it will refuse to play it)kind. It has 1 Scart socket outputting RGB, S-Video and Composite video. A seperate S-video socket and Analogue audio phono outputs. Pictures are quite sharp and free from artifacts the sound is clear and punchy especially through a Dolby digital/Dts setup. The remote control buttons are badly laid out so I tend to use a muti device which also helps keep the r.control count low.
The player has served me well but I will replace it sometime with a more up to date model.
