Good Points: Simple to use camcorder with strong, sharp pictures in good light. Enough features at entry level and edits well via a PC.
Bad Points: Not very good at all in low light (especially indoors) with grainy pictures and poor focus. Also has reliability issues as mine has been back to the repair shop twice in two years.
General comments: Overall the JVC GR-D23EK camcorder works well outdoors with sharp, colourful video, but poor low light filming makes it less usable indoors and reliability issues have somewhat spoiled my ownership. JVC themselves were also not easy to deal with when things went wrong, even under warranty.

The JVC GR-D23EK is an excellent camcorder for basic shooting - really easy to use and I very much enjoy using it!
