Good Points: I took this camera on safari, and as I am not a great photographer, I wanted one that was easy to use. This one also saved me taking 2 cameras as the stills capability was a bonus. Anyone trying to lug stuff around on safari will realise just how much this means, as well as airlines luggage allowance, any saving is a bonus.

I had a few days to get used to it before I left, but I took the risk.

I have to say it was very easy to use on automatic. I could concentrate on getting the animals in frame and keeping steady, at times, in very rocky conditions.

I now have six hours of elephants, cheetahs and lions etc., all of which are clear, and the close-ups of the lions alone are good enough to see individual taste buds on the tongue. I did however use best quality setting, and I only used digital zoom as a last resort, and I never used the 88x digital at all.

The stills taken, either to the SD card or from the tape, I have printed off at A4 size without graining.

I am extremely happy with this camera; so much so, I keep it with me in the car at all times, and obviously the quality is good, as 3 times in the last month I have sold 3 videos of road accidents and a major fire to the television and newspapers (the money went to Jambo Toto African children's society), and had I kept the cash, it would have paid the cameras purchase price.

I like it, and I am buying the extra telephoto attachment to go with it.

Bad Points: The battery life says 1 hour, but at times it is a little less, depending on how many times I rewind or erase, but spares with greater capacity are reasonable in price.

The SD card is too small at 8Gb, so that needs replacing.

The CD in the pack says it is for Windows XP, but the paperwork says it is for Windows ME, so it is a little confusing, and I needed to log on to the Canon website for clarification.

Perhaps the night vision could do with a little improving.

General comments: If you want a straight forward point and shoot Digital Video camera with stills ability, that also has plenty of extras for when you feel a little more ambitious, then the Canon MV750i is the one. If set on automatic, even children can use it!

I bought the Canon MV750i camcorder as a replacement for a broken 4 year old Panasonic miniDV and was very disappointed, so much so that I returned it and got a refund. Outside footage is great, especially the colour reproduction, when compared to my old camcorder. But indoors in lower light conditions (e.g. a living room, during daytime with the lights on) this camcorder really struggles. Video is very grainy, colours are washed out, autofocus struggles when panning. If you are purchasing a cam ...

The Canon MV750i camcorder is the top performer in it's price range. If you are looking for good and easy family and event recording, this is the camera. Other cameras offer higher 'strength' CCDs, but for standard shooting, there is no benefit.
No other camera in its price range have both AV AND DV, in AND out, high quality stills, Photostich mode. And to all people concerned with motor noise, don't be. It's not noticable unless you are trying to detect the mating sounds of deep water fish. ...

Dont buy this Canon MV750i digital camcorder. I made a big mistake with this purchase. The camcorder, to me feels like a toy, Its very plastic feeling. The Audio very poor, even substandard. The motor can be heard in the audio track, and there's no external mic socket! The picture qulaity is bad! My old Panasonic M7 VHS is far better! Pics from the canon lack definition and are smeary. The compression shows up with this junk camera. The camera has to be manualy white balanced, which is not alw ...
