Good Points: Great results from all types of shoots. Adjusts quite well in all conditions. Solid results from hand held positions. transfers to VCR or Television with good results

Bad Points: Bought this Canon 15 months ago. Up to a month ago never needed to use Firewire IEEE cable. When I wanted to transfer all tapes to CD disc found unable to do so. Brought Camcorder to Canon to have checked out. They found the Firewire system required replacing. I was charged €125 or £84 for repairs. When I queried this as to why the problem arose I was told that it was due to a power surge and it was a common fault with the Canon MV700i?!

General comments: If Canon have produced a Camcorder which has developed a common fault. Why have they not initiated a recall or at least offered a repair service at a reduced rate. This is a poor reflection on the backup service Canon so proudly display in their adverts

With the extra leads had no trouble putting footage onto dvd writer and just the thing for macs, straight into imovie, edit then back onto camera, all controled by imovie, then onto dvd writer from camera, seamless. Good picture and sound, controls in the right place, ...
