“Major necessary parts discontiued”

Written on: 19/03/2014 by odMoore268 (1 review written)

I have a 2003 V92c Classic Cruiser. The speedometer quit working and it is combined as a sealed unit in the instrument cluster mounted on the headlight. In less then 10years this very important part seems to no longer be available. The answer I received from dealers and Polaris itself, the best answer is I can no longer use a motorcycle because it is useless without a speedometer. They could not even give me an alternative. I own a 2000 Harley Fatboy that the Victory mimics. There is no… Read Full Review

“Victory Motorcycles Build Quality ”

Hi This is in response to a recent post I have seen mentioning that there was very little available on the net about Victory Build Quality I have been driving motorcycles from the age of 16 and have had a few different Brands over the years ,Yamaha /Honda/ Cagiva /Ducati/Triumph and Victory is at the Bottom of that list in regards to Build Quality , Honda was probably best for me For this particular Victory Here is the list of my concern I have purchased my Victory Jackpot in April 2006… Read Full Review

“Poor quality, Poor dealerships, Australia.”

Hi. I had a 2011 Victory Vegas. Continual problems with transmission , fuel injection, torgue compensator , many unexplained and concerning noises. Dealerships in NSW Australia had little knowledge and less effort in correcting problems.I had many large capacity bikes over thirty years. This was one of the worst. The bike was a real heap of Junk. Lost a lot of money to get rid of it. Underhanded Dearlerships… Read Full Review

I have this same model. I put five thousand miles on it this summer, mostly riding two-up, bringing the bike to about 16k total. The bike has given no sign of a problem to me or to its previous owner. I do wish the company would not abandon early models so that parts were hard to find, but the bike itself is fun and sturdy.

Written on: 09/06/2008 by tman001 (1 review written)

Took a couple of Polaris Victory's out for a test drive. I don't mind the looks compared to some other bikes on the road. Though I do prefer the 70-80's classic look (if it's been long enough to call it that). I found that the power was smooth during acceleration, though the transmission made a bad clunking sound when changing gears with the clutch fully engaged, I didn't even try to quick shift it. The gearing also felt sloppy, mainly in the lower gears. As for the gauges I didn't like that… Read Full Review

I bought my 2003 Polaris Victory classic brand new and stil in the crate last year. I've got 2100 miles on it and have had nothing but one problem after another. I had the dealer install Stage one pipes and it took them over a month to get the bike running at all. They couldn't figure out how to get it properly mapped out. I have a new 07 Vegas that was purchased one week ago. Today, after a short 5 mile ride when I turned off the kill switch, the motor kept running. I attempted to turn off the key and the same. I realized it was the starter motor that was engaged continuously. Finally after about two minutes, the starter fired. The bike has only 100 miles on it and needless to say I am very worried now about the quality and reliability.

Disapointed with the Polaris Victory. Continued problems with fuel system low fuel warning. The shop performed recall on fuel pump clip and they just can't get it right. Concerns on axle replacement. Clutch cable broke at 3400 miles, found design flaw with cable, yet it was not covered under warranty. Brakes wear out fast, even with reasonable breaking habits. Hi,

I purchased a new 2003 Victory Classic Cruiser two years ago. The

I've already had it towed to the dealer twice in the last two months. It's getting expensive and frustrating to have someone drop me off and pick me up each time it's in for service.

The customer service at K&W Motor sports is great, the

This sounds like a bogus report to me. Gee is it under warranty and did you buy the extended warranty? You only have to tell us once. st of all if the bike has a good rep. you don't need an extended warranty. If your haveing all this trouble then you have the lemon law. Ok now lets get some real reviews from real owners !!!

Referenced a few different attorneys in the Metro Detroit area. Basically, because the bike is working at this very moment...there isn't much to be done legally. I was told to take the bike out and ride it until it quits on me again; it will make for a better case in front of a judge. I can't bring myself to sell this piece of junk to anyone else...it wouldn't be fair. I'm still trying to figure out how to jump off the bike at 90 MPH without killing myself so I can RAM it into a brick wall: then I'll just claim it on insurance :) LOL

Good luck to those of you who purchase the Polaris Victory. You will see all kinds of smiles at the dealership the day you buy your new toy; your fooling yourself if you think you're getting customer support after that. Don't forget to buy the extended warranty. It's absolutely useless because Polaris won't fix the bike anyway, but atleast they can get another $800.00 out of you before you drive off.

Brerran's Response to philakapd's Review

Written on: 29/08/2006

I had the exact same experience from my Victory. Everytime I tried to ride, it broke down. My back engine died and locked up my rear tire in the middle of a curve because my throttle position sensor went out. Skidding sideways on a bike isn't a good idea. I was blessed to regain control. My dealer sucked, once I waited two months in the shop for a part. The parent company Polaris didn't care one bit! I wrote then, I called them. They don't care about you or your problems with their products. By the way the lemon law sucks. By the time you pay the attorney it isn't worth it. Luckily I was able to unload my 2000 Victory sport cruiser hunk of junk to some chump in New York.

PS. Someone I work with had the exact same bike. He had to have his engine rebuilt after 1000 miles because his internal oil cavities didn't line up properly. Nice!!

This report couldn't be more real...sorry to say. The bike IS under warranty. I DID purchase the extended warranty. Hmmmm, where do I start. OK. Did you know the warranty does NOT cover towing! So we'll start the "warranty" math approach you have. $130.00 towing charge (one way 13 miles) x time off work x embarrasement of getting rides from friends or family to pick- up bike x "maintanance parts" (things like lubrications, spark plugs, etc) and the labor for those items ARE NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTIES!!! I spent $800.00 on the exteded warranty and I don't use it yet. The bike still has the original. I also spent about $700.00 out of pocket for the previously mentioned. I have been stuck on the side of the road a few times, and I cannot drive more than a few miles from home because I don't know what's going to happen with the machine.

I called Polaris, wrote them letters, and I'm not kidding when I say they left me for dead. I never heard a word back from their corporated division. Don't believe me? Go ahead, look for a customer service number...ANYWHERE. You won't find it on service tickets, their websites, or even in a google search. You have to write them. What is that all about? I waited months and never heard a thing.

I'm not a mechanic. The bike will not consistently run for more than 100 miles before it "bogs down", backfires, smells of gas from the tailpipes, uresponsive throttle, "dummy lights" appear, etc. There isn't a lemon law because they keep replacing DIFFERENT PARTS trying to find the source of the problem. They keep telling me it's fixed every time I pick it up. But last month I didn't make it 3 miles before the bike quit. I was so mad. I literally have 15 service sheets from the last two years. I put a whopping 300 miles on it this year (8 months of potential riding).

And yes, to top it off; the bike now has different chemicals that have hit the saddle bags, engine mounts, chrome, etc. These were pointed out to the service manager. It was never corrected.

So, is it real? Yes.
Am I upset? Yes.
Did Polaris help? No
Would I buy another Polaris Victory? What do you think?

My hands are tied. I cannot fix the bike personally. There is only one dealership I can take it too. I don't have any support from anywhere. This stinks.

Ah, but the Harley Davidson is not clunky at low speeds and rides much better than the victory. I have a O5 Harley Delux softail. Great bike especially after the exhaust change & a race tuner. Then it really rocks. No vibration in this bike and at 65 & above, a lot less vibration then the victory.
