“99 V92C early, "serialized" bikes ended at 1500 mine-1533”

★★☆☆☆

written by BigMikeFL on 10/06/2017

Purchased new, got a great deal since the 2000 models were already on the floor. Before first service was due, dealer dropped the Victory line. Had to drive 90 miles to only other dealer within 3 hours drive. Bad speedometer head changed at 9k miles, multiple trips to dealer finally cured ongoing rough idle, bad tps. Changed to Andrews Cams, and aftermarket eprom, ran great, pulled 77 hp on dyno run. Had very noisy shifting, and frequently found false neutral between 2-3. Received letter concerning transmission upgrade and was quoted $2800 for the work that factory letter stated should be $1200-$1400 (at the new dealer that had opened locally) took bike with less than 30k to another new dealer about 40 miles away. They completed the work in a timely fashion, at slightly under $1400. Had no additional troubles, other than with dealer #2, who has since gone out of business totally. Was happy with bike, but disappointed with resale value, and the terrible service from dealer 2. I went back to riding my antique Panhead, and my retired police model Road King. Dealer 1&3 were fantastic, but it seems as if Polaris did not care at all about customer satisfaction, just moving new bikes.

“Brand new Victory vegas beaks down after 120 miles”

★★★☆☆

written by Johnhobbit88 on 12/07/2015

I bought a brand new 2015 victory vegas and only did 120 miles before it broke down. Felt it was running out of petrol and it started to kangaroo down the road. It then stalled a few times but I managed to limp home. Looks like there may be a fuelling issue and have asked the dealer to pick it up and investigate. Also the electronic gear indicator seems to have a mind of it's own and can't work out when I'm in first gear. It also idles really rough but I'm assuming it's all to do with the fault I have. Really dangerous to ride and someone nearly drove into the back of me. ( not a happy camper) . Also seen on the web there are quite a few recalls with the Victory models and some seem quite serious. Not sure if I made the right descion. Having said that when it's was running ok it was a nice handling bike and looks great.

“2006 Victory Hammer”

★★☆☆☆

written by Steve1948 on 12/06/2014

Love this bike. Bought it new and for the most part it has been reliable. At 10k miles had to rebuild the front fork and replace the seals. At 24k miles the transmission has failed and needs to be rebuilt. From the first service I complained about the noise from the transmission. Was told that was normal. The throttle body has to be constantly cleaned to keep the bike in good running order. Available dealers is limited and parts almost always has to be ordered. I like the bike but would not recommend to anyone nor would I buy another.

“Major necessary parts discontiued”

★★☆☆☆

written by odMoore268 on 19/03/2014

I have a 2003 V92c Classic Cruiser. The speedometer quit working and it is combined as a sealed unit in the instrument cluster mounted on the headlight. In less then 10years this very important part seems to no longer be available. The answer I received from dealers and Polaris itself, the best answer is I can no longer use a motorcycle because it is useless without a speedometer. They could not even give me an alternative. I own a 2000 Harley Fatboy that the Victory mimics. There is no comparison. The Harley, by far, is the best built overall better motorcycle. As the old saying goes "you get what you pay for" I guess being unable to drive my newer Victory is what I paid for.

Personally I think you were very generous giving the Polaris Victory two stars. My 2004 V92TC is sitting in the garage again while I search for repair parts (again) that should not have broken and Polaris no longer manufactures. This is why my bike only has 15k miles on it. I have learned my lesson and will never consider buying another Polaris product. The quality is sub-Chinese.

“Victory Motorcycles Build Quality ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 26/11/2012

Hi This is in response to a recent post I have seen mentioning that there was very little available on the net about Victory Build Quality I have been driving motorcycles from the age of 16 and have had a few different Brands over the years ,Yamaha /Honda/ Cagiva /Ducati/Triumph and Victory is at the Bottom of that list in regards to Build Quality , Honda was probably best for me For this particular Victory Here is the list of my concern I have purchased my Victory Jackpot in April 2006 in London and as for my previous bike I said that my intention was to use this on a daily bases as a commuting bike and was expecting to do 5000 Miles per year , I also ordered the chrome wheels at the same time TOTAL 16K I now know that Victory Bike are certainly not build to be used on a daily bases regardless of what the Victory guys would say I changed my first clutch cable at 3000 miles; this one was done under warranty I have now changed this 6 more times, the cable snap every 3 to 4000 miles but Victory say it is my fault, and my driving, when I know for a fact that lost of Victory bikes have the same problem in the US .I can change that myself, it take me around 1 hour now with all the practice I had and I keep a spare The whole clutch was changed at 28000 Miles after failing completely At 20000 miles the accelerator cable also snapped, I was on the motorway at the time luckily in the slow lane, this is still a first for me but again no help from Victory A lot of the chrome parts are peeling off but where it really makes me laugh is the chrome risers where one is completely peeling off on top where the other is still OK The Victory view is that I have clean the risers with different soap and damaged it myself!!! The front and rear mudguards have been rusting from year two forming bubbles under the paint Again when reporting this is not Victory ‘s concerned .All the Brake cables are rusting inside the plastic protection , most of the bolts have rusted and I have changed to other brands Recently the exhaust system just fell off from the engine completely rusted, according to the dealer this is not a first but not covered buy any warranty , I found one on Ebay second hand so no more money to Victory and a rear pulley was also available , mine peel off completely years ago !!! I try to avoid giving any more of my cash to victory and use a local garage and Ebay for most of my need as I have had a few electrical problems recently to top the list I am done speaking to Victory and for now I am using my bike on a regular bases and get a few riders now and then asking questions about the bike and I am very honest will all of them, with the bike at hand it is very easy to show them the Build Quality and for now in London I have not seen many on the road Victory wanted me to believe that I was the only one not completely satisfy with my purchase I was recently at the Brightona and have seen a few victory bikes there, some 09 and 10 number plates looking like rust buckets showing me that the problems are only getting worst Paint peeling off, chrome peeling off, bolts rusted and bubbles under the paint Maybe one day Victory will realise that the best adverts they can have are the guys riding the bikes and they have to look after them but I cannot see this starting anytime soon The only warranty I got from my experience with Victory is that I will not get another one

“Poor quality, Poor dealerships, Australia.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 01/11/2012

Hi. I had a 2011 Victory Vegas. Continual problems with transmission , fuel injection, torgue compensator , many unexplained and concerning noises. Dealerships in NSW Australia had little knowledge and less effort in correcting problems.I had many large capacity bikes over thirty years. This was one of the worst. The bike was a real heap of Junk. Lost a lot of money to get rid of it. Underhanded Dearlerships.

I have this same model. I put five thousand miles on it this summer, mostly riding two-up, bringing the bike to about 16k total. The bike has given no sign of a problem to me or to its previous owner. I do wish the company would not abandon early models so that parts were hard to find, but the bike itself is fun and sturdy.

Bought the Polaris Victory after owning a Yamaha enduro and a Suzuki SV650 best bike I have ever riden. The best thing is the bike is made completely in USA (Minnesota to be exact) except the front fork (Italy) and now that everything thing we buy now (even Harley) is made or designed in Japan.

I had previously owned a 2000 V92sc and my wife had a 1999 V92c. I upgraded to a 2007 Vegas Premium and she now has a 2008 Vegas Premium Low. The ride is greatly improved and there is considerably more power. We have gone on several poker runs and these bikes will run with any of the others. With the 6 speed transmission the top end is much faster than you will want to go.

“Took a couple of Polaris Victory's out for a test...”

★★☆☆☆

written by tman001 on 09/06/2008

Took a couple of Polaris Victory's out for a test drive. I don't mind the looks compared to some other bikes on the road. Though I do prefer the 70-80's classic look (if it's been long enough to call it that). I found that the power was smooth during acceleration, though the transmission made a bad clunking sound when changing gears with the clutch fully engaged, I didn't even try to quick shift it. The gearing also felt sloppy, mainly in the lower gears. As for the gauges I didn't like that there is no taco, had to decide when to switch based on the sound, sounded winey in 3rd went to 4th and it felt like I shifted too early. I know the bikes rev limited, but the sound was making me think it might not have been working. This is a fairly heavy bike, not the heaviest I've driven but larger then I drive on a daily basis. I found that the brakes have a hard time slowing you down, I don't expect it to act like a smaller bike but I had to really hammer on them to slow down, past the point when my daily ride would have locked the tires. With the weight of the bike one of the most important things is handling. I found the bikes to be pigs at slow speeds, I've driven raked out customs that were easier to maneuver. At highway speeds is where the bikes shine, loved the handling on the highway. In a related topic balance, I found the bikes pull to the right. The dealer told me the bikes were perfectly balanced. It wasn't bad while accelerating on right turns (actually helped), it was horrible when stopping or making left turns. It could be that I € m "used to my unbalanced bike" as the dealer said but I think I'll stick with what I like. I don't like fighting a bike to lean left, forget the "you don't even have to put a leg down at a light" as the dealer also said. I'm sure I could get used to it if I drove one daily, I just know I won't be doing that. Now the price speaks for itself. A so-so bike with an overly large price tag. They should spend more time on the ride and less on the looks. I rode a couple of different bikes and the feel was different with each bike. What I'm reporting here is what I think of when thinking of the day's rides. Some issues were more apparent on one bike or another. Though the scary thing is that all the bikes fit into this in one degree or another, there wasn't one that I loved the feel of. It's all about compromises, handling vs. brakes vs. acceleration. I rode the Kingpin Tour, the Hammer and the Vegas Low. I preferred the Vegas Low though my legs felt too long, the regular Vegas might have been better. The Hammer is my second and the Kingpin Tour was last. I'm just glad I didn't have a passenger with me today.

I am a very proud Polaris Victory owner, I have invested a lot of money on my bike as well as my clothing (Victory patch work). I feel good with my bike and love the attention it deserves to get. I hope dealerships can be more helpful and less argumentative with every concern a new owner has. Remember these bikes cost as much as a fully loaded car in some cases.

My Victory is a 2002 TC with 20,000 miles. I would not hesitate to take it across country with the experience I have had with this scooter. Victory is a geat bike. As it grows in market share so will service and availablity. I have owned two of them now. My first one was a 2001 Crusier. Great dealer in Arlington, TX. Victory of Arlington.
PS I didn't buy either bike from them. they weren't around when I purchased the two bikes.

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 02/12/2007

I bought my 2003 Polaris Victory classic brand new and stil in the crate last year. I've got 2100 miles on it and have had nothing but one problem after another. I had the dealer install Stage one pipes and it took them over a month to get the bike running at all. They couldn't figure out how to get it properly mapped out. I've gone through 2 fuel pumps already. The gas tank makes a horrible whinning noise when I get down to 2 gallons. I've "run out of fuel" with 2 gallons still in the tank. The dealer shop said there was nothing wrong with my fuel gauge or the fuel pump. Last time I took the bike in for the fuel gauge problem and the strange fuel tank noise, they told me again nothing was wrong. I'm totally disappointed with the whole Victory experience. I'll NEVER own another victory.

★★☆☆☆

written by RINGOKID585 on 02/11/2007

I have a new 07 Vegas that was purchased one week ago. Today, after a short 5 mile ride when I turned off the kill switch, the motor kept running. I attempted to turn off the key and the same. I realized it was the starter motor that was engaged continuously. Finally after about two minutes, the starter fired. The bike has only 100 miles on it and needless to say I am very worried now about the quality and reliability.
Has this ever happened to anyone else?
