    Good Points: Cheap.


    Bad Points: Typical pub chain fayre. Little emphasis on quality. Slapdash service.


    General comments: I find I would only use the Hogshead Pubs as a dire last resort action. I appreciate these brand of pub chains must cater for people with only 30-40 minutes for lunch but I find visits to their establishments are always infuriating experiences. Always under staffed, the procedure of buying a drink, ordering your food and your meal arriving as spec is a frustrating and haphazard affair. The tables and general surroundings always seem grubby to me and although the food is priced reasonably against its competitors, the quality is questionable.

    This is my favourite place to go in my local town for a pub meal.

    The pub is comfortable, not too loud (during the day) or smoky and they have lots of comfortable chairs and sofas.

    I have eaten there a fair few times now and only once had a problem when we waited around 45 minutes for a meal. However, the staff made up for this and were very helpful.

    The food is always good and is of a high standard. I tend to have the Chicken Stack with is just delicious and the best version I have t ...
