firstly we felt rushed as soon as we sat down we were pestered for what we wanted, we stated we wanted to use the £9.95 offer and they agreed but failed too discount this from the bill, we didn't notice until we left.We felt rushed out the food was okay but the customer service was rushed, when we finished our starter our plate was taken from us straight away without being asked of it was okay and we weren't checked up on during our main, there was no customer interaction, and when finished mains we were asked if we wanted the bill, not desertes or coffee. no offer of additional drinks either. It was a shame as it was my boyfriends first visit... trying to show him the world of italian .what a let down

i went with my familt to pizza express in macclesfield and it was fantastic,the chef was great he made us exactly waht we ordered and it was the best,usually i go to wilmslow pizza expres and found it very disapointing ,we had over done pizza rock hard garlic bread and a very basic salad and as it was my nieces birthday we were very dissapointed.

I was very disappointed with the service and food from The Pizza Express in Liverpool ordered 3 pizzas and garlic bread revert pizza was burnt all pizzas my children can cook a better pizza.very pricey too, our pizzas were plonked onto the table by a waitress also they didn't give us a pizza cutter and had to ask for one waited five minutes and it was dirty with onions on it, we came out of there disappointed and hungry never again think its Pizza hut from now on.

We had a Tesco voucher for Pizza Express which should have been accepted as part payment. Showed it to waiter/manager when sat down and told it was OK. After ordering from the set menu and eating, then waiting get told it's not accepted at till as deals have changed, even though coupon was in date. Very awkward and spoiled our meal that had to pay full price for and ruined day out. Would not have ordered the food had we known or been told up front. The customer service is awful - avoid!

Over priced, nasty pizzas. Very disappointed. We went for lunch for a family of 5. My boys ordered off the kids menu we had two drinks each. (Not alcohol) it was £109. My daughter ordered spag Bol it was a mushy mess she didn't eat it. I had the calzone and there was a lot of dough with very little filling, my husbands pizza was ok. My youngest son was most upset because there was no ketchup! I mean what type of restraint any that has a child's menu doesn't have ketchup it this day and age! We won't bother going again.

Omg, I am so sick, I have eaten a meal at Pizza Express Watford. I had the Superfood Salad with dough sticks, and after that ordered their "new recipe" tiramisu dessert. I was halfway through eating it when I found a HUGE DEAD FLY in the middle!!! It was about to be in the next spoonful I was going to eat!!! They insisted they didn't make the desserts there and had bought them from somewhere else. They said they would offer a refund for it, but not the salad or coffee I had. I refused this offer as I was feeling sick, and as I have returned home I have been throwing up. I feel sick, and, shaken up. Please avoid this restaurant as they have flies around the restaurant tables everywhere!! It's vile and disgusting and there are so many families eating here with young children, when this restaurant is unhealthy and should be avoided. The only reason I have given this restaurant 1* is because I couldn't have rated it nothing. This restaurant is a health hazard. AVOID at all costs.

Went for meal tonight horrible pizza no taste discussing staff not friendly at all the sweet ! Worst ever had had fudge cake not even warmed up tasted tasteless never going again

Tried many pizza expresses each time been v disappointed. Overpriced overrated. After last visit have vowed never to part with hard earned cash again. The calzones are tasteless pizzas naff( add some toppings) not surprised the offer as many offers as they do, need to get bums on expensive seats somehow. You've had your last chance. Gonna go to true Italian in future, be cheaper and tastier.

I went in for my sons birthday and found the service a disgrace , my daughter had a white dress on and the chef. Standing behinds making the pizzas splattered my daughters hair and dress in tomato sauce , it was disguising . I was so angry but they did nothing so I wrote to the head office and they were even more useless , they said it was an accident and that was it, I will never eat in that upminster pizza express again they are so incompetent !!!!!

Should have gone to another restaurant in another town. The place was dirty the seat was wet from split drinks. Reading oracle is best passed by. Pasta dish was bland and tasteless especially at £10 nearly. To be fair I am sure their pizzas would have been consistent. Needs floor revarnishIng and walls replastering in places and a lick of paint. Try west Bridgford or Melton Mowbray if you are in the area, far nicer!

On Saturday 30.06.2012 I took my family to the braintree free port where we planned to have dinner at the Nandos restaurant. Unfortunately there were no empty tables and one would be available after half an hour. As an emergent change of plan we decided to go to the Pizza Express which was next to it. A male staff set up a table by pulling 5 chairs from the neighbouring tables around a small table. I told him the table was too small and he said this is his only available choice! We made our orders which were two pizzas and a plate of spaghetti + 5 drinks for my wife and three children and myself. The poor food was fetched by a female staff who was laughing out loud as she was placing it. I got annoyed and asked her if there was anything funny. she said nothing and continued laughing! I thought of making a problem to them but decided to stay calm as my kids were enjoying their colouring. after eating the pizzas, my kids complained of stomach ache. I thought it was normal but after a few minutes, I felt the same. I thought it was food poisoning. I called the big-belly laughing female staff and told her what was wrong with my kids but she replied by 'take them to the hospital'. I burst at her (WHAT DID YOU PUT ON MY KIDS FOOD THAT MADE THEM FEEL PAIN? IT IS BECAUSE OF YOUR FOOD THAT THEY FEEL SICK AND YOU DONT SHOW ANY RESPECT AND YOU DONT ACT RESPONSIBLY). a male staff intervened and tried to show some respect. I asked for the bill, paid it and got out and will never ever come back. It was a bad experience because of the inexperienced and uncaring staff and the badly cooked food.

I have always loved pizza express, but then again I had been spoiled in harrogate and Northallerton. The Only disappointment was in York. Oh my Goodness, The pizza were so dry and no cheese. Such a grand place. but you walk into some take away look inside and cheap chairs and tables. Not only that its not cheap to eat there but this place is making money from our disappointment. I will never recommend York Pizza express to anyone. if you can go to Harrogate there have standards there.

On visiting Cambridge to visit my daughter we ( 5 of us ) went to pizza express in regent street cambridge. On arival we were greeted by the most miserable looking member of staff they could have put at front of house. This should of given us the message LEAVE now but we were hungry and have always had excellent food and service for many years at our local in Watford. At first the waiter wanted us to sit on two seperate tables and tutted when asked if the two could be pushed together. The waiter who took the order was unfriendly and impatient. When the food arrived it look ok. Four of us had pizza. 3 were soggy underneath but well done on the top so would not have been able to go back in oven. I tried to explain to the waiter that there was a problem but he was not interested. I am angry at myself that we did not walk out but just sat there and ate and tried to make the best of things as I was having a day out with family. Our bill came to £90 which is alot of money for pizza, pasta, and a drink. I know the cost of eating out is expensive and I don't mind if the quality is of a good standard and the service is good. Sometimes you can forgive a poor meal if the standard of service is good. A smile costs nothing. I do not advise anyone to eat at this branch. Go to nandos down the road. Happy, helpful staff in there. BUT if you are ever in watford, try a pizza there I am sure you will not be disapointed.
