Tried many pizza expresses each time been v disappointed. Overpriced overrated. After last visit have vowed never to part with hard earned cash again. The calzones are tasteless pizzas naff( add some toppings) not surprised the offer as many offers as they do, need to get bums on expensive seats somehow. You've had your last chance. Gonna go to true Italian in future, be cheaper and tastier. (read more)

One of my worst dining experiences. On arrival we were seated by a blonde waitress. We were handed menus before I even sat down. The building was freezing. My toes were so cold. Food was slow to arrive. Satisfactory starters. Mains were cold and disappointing. The food lacked flavour and was very bland. Not enough cheese, it's pizza for crying out loud! £3.95 for a peroni was shocking. I will never go again! (read more)

This is one of the only places that takes it as normal when someone orders a pizza with no cheese, so that makes me a happy bunny! okay, so, firstly, the food was nice. Not fantastic, but nice. Edible, and quite tasty. I visited the Pizza Express Portsmouth Gunwharf branch for lunch today with a friend, and our young children. The two adults had a main pasta dish each, and we ordered two children's menu meals too. No starters, no desserts. With one drink each the bill came to £41! £2.30 for a small cup of apple juice is disgusting. The children's meals were tiny- fine for our children as they were all preschoolers... (read more)

WELL WHAT CAN I SAY, THIS IS A WONDERFUL RESTAURANT AND I WILL BE GOING AGAIN VERY SOON! I VISITED ON THURSDAY 25TH OCTOBER 2012 AND WAS SAT WITH MY SON AND HUSBAND ON A TABLE NEAR THE BIG BAR. WE WERE SERVED BY A VERY HAPPY,PRETTY AND CHEERFUL YOUNG LADY WHO IMMEDIATELY AFTER TAKING OUR DRINKS ORDER ASKED IF MY SON WOULD BE INTERESTED IN MAKING SOME DOUGH SHAPES. WHICH HE LOVED! OUR FOOD CAME QUICKLY AND TASTED SUBLIME!... MY SON LOVED HIS DOUGH SHAPES AND SHE BOUGHT THEM AND ASKED WHETHER... (read more)

I'm still feeling the effects of some of the red I had last night, but Oh, what a night - It was great! Me and 4 friends (partners in crime) wanted to kick the weekend off early and so, voucher in hand, we all trekked down to Pizza Express. Now, I had my doubts. I haven't been there in years (I tend to go to Strada and ASK instead), but on this occasion it was a winner. Our poor waiter (actually I bet he loved it :-) dealt well with 5 girls with a licence for red! The food (that I remember)... (read more)

We ate as a large group at the Luton branch. We ordered olives to share between friends whilst we waited for our main course. The waitress did not bring a separate dish for the olive stones. She did not return so we used a small white china style bowl that was used for the candle. The waitress came over saying it grabbed the bowl and said it was "disgusting" - I said and 'where are we supposed to put the stones.' She said 'back in the same bowl that the uneaten olives were in' !!! I shouted... (read more)

Had a meal at tower park, Poole Dorset . For starter's well over priced and cafe like, Waitress was fine but seemed to busy. We paid £7.20 for a cheese and tomato we got cheese tomato and pepper. Child's meal was a terrible experience for my 10yr old son cold pasta. The beer was well over priced so had overpriced bottle of water. Will never ever go there again and we live with-in walking distance. If you are after a really good italian meal go to MA'S on poole high street. (read more)

Should have gone to another restaurant in another town. The place was dirty the seat was wet from split drinks. Reading oracle is best passed by. Pasta dish was bland and tasteless especially at £10 nearly. To be fair I am sure their pizzas would have been consistent. Needs floor revarnishIng and walls replastering in places and a lick of paint. Try west Bridgford or Melton Mowbray if you are in the area, far nicer! (read more)

My friend and I had previously eaten at this Pizza Express, Queen Street, Glasgow. They have altered the decor seating since our last visit. We both had pizzas which were fairly cold, but tasted ok. Side mixed salad very small and ridiculously over expensive for what we received. Overall we did not like the new layout of the premises, the front door was propped open and draught coming in making place cold and uninviting. Waitress did close it on request but stated she was warm! Place was... (read more)

On Saturday 30.06.2012 I took my family to the braintree free port where we planned to have dinner at the Nandos restaurant. Unfortunately there were no empty tables and one would be available after half an hour. As an emergent change of plan we decided to go to the Pizza Express which was next to it. started badly with two children and three adults given a table for four with a chair on one end. No room at all and a couple of glasses went over due to the lack of space. The manager came over, relocted us to a larger table and replaced the drinks. Was great with the kids and turned a bad situation into a good one. We had booked a table for five so maybe we should not have been put on a table for four but anyway it was handled very well in the end. (read more)

i cant agree more
pizzaexpress replaced all the ingredients from olive oil, mozzarella, tuna to the salads that comes in bags with nitrogen in it to keep it fresh for longer, all thoe are cheeper and far inferior quality then the old ones, all things are frozen from dough to pasta for adults or for kids.
they display fresh tomatoes and pappers so customers will think that it all fresh but the tomatoes, the peppers, limes and lemons, the cucumber are all what is not frozen the deserts also frozen.
i think that pizza express is cheating people on the image they try to give and what the real truthful identities.

While its lovely to watch a chef prepare it also gives you insight as to how awfull the hygiene is, small plastic pots are filled with fillings and the chef just used his fingers grabbing the food to put on the pizza. This is really unhygienic and disgusting and certainly put me off ordering pizza, why don't they use gloves like they do in more advanced countries where cleanliness is an issue ie Singapore.
