“Hermes”

The click and collect service which is contracted out to Hermes is appalling. My items which I'd ordered in good time for a weekend away did not arrive in time and Boden did nothing to assist, insisting that although they were able to confirm where the items were (at Hermes depot),they had no way of expediting delivery or talking directly to anyone at Hermes. I have had a similar experience with Hermes when ordering thro' another mail order company and I will steer well clear in future. Boden - you need to sort a better courier or start losing custom.

“just great”

i love mini boden clothes very cute and good quality. however don't like the fact that so many clothes now are produced in china and some fabric seems thin- however if you not happy you can return for free if you order during promotion and can keep labels for later. returns are fast and loads of discount codes available if you do a little search. customer service is good first time ever had problem with delivery and boden sorted all themselves yes a bit incovinient but mistakes happen. and also not to forget they regulary reward their loyal customers with £10 credit

“Wrong item sent! ”

Sent me completely the wrong item, had to chase them up twice as no one replied to me. The item they sent me was also wrong in value, so they ended up taking more money off me for an item that was not worth that amount. After all this I was offered nothing in compensation for having to send the incorrect order back or the fact that this was a birthday present that was now going to arrive late, or the fact that I received bad customer service. For a first time order I'm disgusted, I won't be ordering from them again. It's a shame as the clothes look lovely but clearly they haven't got the hang of online orders. They need to sort it out and offer their customers something extra when it's them who make the mistakes. Unhappy customer.

“Poor quality, even with 15% discount”

Have been ordering from Boden on and off for many years. The quality has definitely declined and some of the fabric is really thin. I have got two tops which I bought about 8 years ago and they still fit, believe it or not, and still look good. The three items delivered today looked poor quality, even before I took them out of the bag. The jeans don`t fit, yet I have ordered that same size before. Inconsistency in sizing with Boden is another problem. The normal price of the shirt is nearly £40, which I wouldn`t call cheap, but it looks cheap. The long sleeve crew neck is really thin so don`t know how it would wash. All being returned, I`m afraid.

“poor quality blouse”

I bought a long sleeved ladies' blouse. The cloth was really thin and when I washed it, it shrank considerably. I was dismayed as I had got the impression Boden sold high quality stuff. Boden, you need to improve quality. I don't mind paying high prices if the quality of the items is good.

“Mini Boden = Poor Quality - First and last time as...”

As a mother to a 3 1/2 year old, I like to buy quality clothes at a reasonable price. Clothes have to be of good quality and durability, hence I prefer to buy from MS and Next for my LO generally at sale time or second hand items on Ebay. I was enticed by a £15 money off voucher sent in the post to me last month by Boden which coincided with their November sale. Knowing of the Boden brand being a middle class, expensive but quality clothing (how have things moved on!), I ordered a pack of 7 pairs socks of star design and 2 pairs of footless cable knot tights for my LO having read the product reviews. After the money off voucher and the sale prices, I only paid £10.20. Bargain I thought. The socks were part of a Xmas stocking gift and the tights to be worn when my LO is older. My Lo wore the 1st pair which were put in the wash but came out all bobbled, equivalent to several weeks worth of wear. I had thought that the socks were caught up with something else in the wash but unfortunately the quality of the socks were confirmed when a second pair was worn and inspected before being put in the wash. Despite my Lo wearing slippers with the socks all day today, the socks were just as bobbled. Having read the small print for returns, Boden will accept returns but the return delivery is at the expense of the purchaser. How unreasonable is this! These socks are of a funky design but let down by wear quality. Socks are of worse quality than socks you would get from Poundland. Will not buy from Boden again and will stick to the usual outlets. I also suspect that the product reviews may not be of a general selection. I can not comment about the Customer Service other than the products were delivered on time and I did get a personal message on my answering machine a couple of weeks later from Boden to follow up the delivered order which I thought was a nice touch but maybe it was a sales ploy!

“How the mighty have fallen...”

I've been a Boden customer since the early 1990s when they were slightly quirky, fun and the quality of the clothes was superb. Customer services, on the rare occasion they had to be contacted, were fabulous. I still have several items bought nearly twenty years ago and they still look good! I became increasingly disillusioned with the quality during the 2000s and finally gave up on them altogether around 2010 when I had an issue with some trousers being the correct size; customer services didn't want to know. Times move on I accept but the old Boden appealed to young and old alike and the quality was excellent. I used to get regular comments asking where I had bought a shirt, pair of swimming trunks or whatever. It's sad when a company looses sight of it's USP. RIP the real Boden.

“Delayed Delivery and Poor Customer Service”

I ordered a coat showing a one week waiting time, as a birthday gift. When it didn't arrive I phoned Boden and was told it would be delivered within about 3 days. It did not arrive. I phoned again and was told by a different operator that she did not know where the coat was but thought it might be in final inspection and would be delivered soon. It did not arrive. I emailed Boden Customer Services (a misnomer if ever there was one) and received a reply from James Malyon saying that he would contact their Merchandising Department and would let me know a delivery date. Seven (yes, 7) days later I am still waiting for an answer, The birthday in question has now passed. I shall never order from Boden again - it is no wonder that their business is in trouble.

“Down the drain definitely they have gone”

I used to love Boden, I would wait eagerly for their Bodenpreview page to appear, announcing the next season's stuff. I had people here in Italy asking me where the hell I got my clothes...and that's a comment coming from style- crazy Italians. I loved their qiuirky Englishness and it suited me as a sort of exiled Brit over here in southern Italy. No more the case, sadly to say. The last few orders I've had from Boden have been badly fitting and cheap, quality-wise and not pricewise. I realize stuff has been made in China for years now but the quality is noticeably worse and there is no uniformity in the fit of things. The worst products of all are shoes. They often come one longer/wider than the other and the last pair I had were fabric and dirty. I can't afford to return stuff from Italy as it is expensive and fiddly. On a final note i would say that customer service has gone to being personal and attentive to purely inefficient and indifferent. Sad because they had built up quite a business there. At least there will be plenty of stuff in stock when their sale comes round, if it's worth buying at least.

Not only is the quality suffering but I think the styling is off as well. Seems they only style for the small among us. I'm not a large lady but I am busty. I love a V neck but all of the dresses are either high necks or so low I need a cami. Being busty I hate to have to add another layer up top.
When I wear the dresses from past years all I get are compliments. I love my wrap dress - my first Boden purchase and still my favorite.
Please bring back the style. I need dresses.

“Too many clothes produced in China!”

For years I have been a frequent online buyer from Boden as I like the style very much, for myself and esp. for my girls. This season however, I've ordered clothes for myself, two dresses and a skirt. All three items were produced in China and this is not what I expect from Boden. I would recommend Boden co uk to declare in the items detail where they had the items made. So I as a customer can decide whether I want to order a rather high priced item made in China. Anyway, the reviews I've written on the Boden site weren't published as this kind of criticism doesn't seem to meet their approval. So in short, too expensive for clothes that are made in China.

“If only they can get t my onlin order right!”

I thought by ordering online that I might get the service I am used to when ordering with Atheleta, GAP or Banana Republic. NO WAY. Boden messed up on my order. They sent me a different item and when I complained, they said, Please keep the item and we will correct your order. Please give us another chance to make it up to you." Wel... I did and they sent me another wrong item. When I complain I get the standard email, "We are unable to to answer you at this time due to a tremendous amount of email we received." What? Is everyone complaining? I have waited over 1 month and have yet to receive the item I ordered. Give them another chance? NO WAY. Don't buy from BODEN. You won't get what you ordered. Julia

“Appalling customer service”

I fully understand that customer service in Britain is an oxymoron, but Boden takes it to a new low level. Recently tried to buy two shirts online in the UK to be sent to a UK address. I received an email from their "fraud department" saying my card had not been authorised and i had to send them some confirmation details. I called my bank, and the reason for refusal was that Boden were using an old card; despite the fact i submitted the new card for payment. I told the person in the "fraud department" and he denied this was the case. I called my bank again who told me the information Boden were submitting which was indeed incorrect. I have made a complaint -- obviously thats been ignored. The Fraud person's attitude was appalling. So i cancelled the order, asked for all my personal information to be wiped from their systems, told them i do not want to receive any further information from them, and I have complained to the Information Commissioner as Boden are breaking the Data Protection Act. No wonder their revenues are suffering.

Ive had same problem. they also appear to store out of date credit card information, even if you direct them to correct one.
their customer service is stunningly bad. had to deal with some idit in finance-- frankly he should be fired. no wonder their revenues are falling.

“Bad customer service”

I have ordered and paid for my Boden products - nearly £100. The Home Delivery Network who they use say they delivered my parcel on Wednesday evening (I was in). There was no card. I do not have a parcel. Many many calls to them and to Boden later I have found out that the parcel is 'lost' but Boden won't send me new items until they have found out where it is!! In the mean time the items will probably be out of stock - they refused to reserve them, just in case it turned out that I was telling the truth. No apology. I really thought Boden had good customer services. I'm really disappointed.

“Quality really declining”

It is such a shame that the quality of Boden products is really declining. I have purchased two dresses recently , on one the neck came undone after one wear, on the other the hem fell down on the first wear and a button (the bottom button which meant the dress became quite revealing!) on the second wear. The boys trousers wear through as quick as cheap brands and it is such a shame. My sister ordered sandles and the buckle fell off the first time they were undone! The reason I purchased childrens clothes in particular was the good quality of the fabrics that washed well and always looked good, I am so disappointed that this great brand seems to have come to the end of it's natural life. Unless they really improve again then I will be going elsewhere. Their customer service is brilliant and can't be faulted though.

“Boden never seems to have any sizes!”

I've been visiting the Boden website recently to buy clothes for an upcoming holiday, but there never seem to be any sizes available! I had to wait 2 months for a pair of shoes. Surely this isn't normal for an international company? When they finally arrived I was very pleased with quality - but my holiday is in a month so think I'll have to shop elsewhere - shame as we were going to buy £200 of clothes which we had picked from the catalogue.

“What has happened to Boden?”

I used to buy all my kids clothes from Mini Boden. They offered value for money, and the quality of the clothes meant that they lasted wear from both my daughters. However, I have noticed a decline in the fabric quality and 'colours' of the fabric in the last few seasons...which has resulted in my returning 85% of the items I have just ordered from the Spring/Summer collection. Most disappointing were the boys 'icon' hoodie, in navy with a union jack on the back. This looked great in the catalogue, however the fabric was the sort of quality I would expect from a cheap high street retailer - not Boden. Also - the girls printed skirts were similar in poor quality, and the colours really washed out. I imagine that we are all paying the price for Boden's heavy discounting...It used to be 10/12%, but now they consistantly offer 25%...and the result is them spending less on the manufacturing. It's really disappointing - but I will be returing to the high street for my kids Summer clothes this year.
