“Unprofessional, Inept and Shoddy”

As a family of five, we have been going to Specsavers for over 20 years. Not any more. The staff are untrained, rude and uninterested. Our local branches are filled with minimum wage, bored kids who can't get work anywhere else pretending to know their stuff or even care about the customers. The spectacles are not remotely inspiring. The whole attitude is that "we are cheap, take us or leave us". Definitely the Poundland of opticians. I would rather save for longer and pay more. I got a eye test last week I was told it was free after test I was informed eye test is free if you purchase glasses from here so I had to hurry up and choose a pair I went for a designer pair which came to £99 they said they would thin the lenses out free When I went to collect glasses the lenses where to thick for the frames so I was told to get them even thinner which was £20 extra I had to pay I collect them today and I still don't think they are thin as what they told me I will NEVER… Read Full Review

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I told the girl I was never using them again. I had chosen rimless £169 glasses and was told the lenses would be thin. I used to use ASDA and will again!

“Appalling customer service ”

Have been a customer of specsavers in Feltham for 3 years and always found them satisfactory until I decided to do a contact lens trial. They got my appointments mixed up when I went to pick them up and learn how to use them, I was left waiting for 45 minutes by which time it was too late as the store was closing in 15 minutes and they like to give an hour for the lesson. I used the home visit service as I am attached to an oxygen machine, the initial visit and test went OK and I ordered two pairs of varifocals. They arrived with a completely different member of staff about 8 days later, I was having problems using the reading portion but was told I would get used to them Well I didn't get used to them the only way to be able to read was to use one hand to lift them from my nose to be able to see through that part of the lens. “Lack Urgency & Untrustworthy”

Very incompetent service from your staff in the wrexham branch. Was told after a routine eye exam last wednesday that i had corneal dystrophy which is a very rare eye disease. “Overpriced terrible service poor quality”

Visitef Wallington branch 3 weeks ago. Promised delivery in 2 weeks still waiting. A pair arrived a week ago an were cracked. They could not tell me when they would be redone. Paid at least £100 more than my last otician Whose waiting time was only 5 days. Good advertising thinks you get a good price but they have so many add ons that they are very expensive. “Totally wrong 5 times”

Had eye test, spent £400 on these specs. first pair of glasses came wrong frame, second ones came wrong prescription. This is now 5 weeks from order, I then had a free eye test again to stabilise what went wrong with the first one. The test was miles out. I then waited 2 weeks for my final specs. Had eye test and left to choose frames alone. I have a prescription that needs thin lenses. Chose two frames. Was told they would take a while to be made. Was not given a collection appointment. Contacted them after THREE weeks, as I hadn't heard from them. "Oh yes they are here to collect"! Visited Ashford spec savers today for an eye test and to purchase new glasses, up to the point of sale everything was extremely satisfactory but the actual selection and pricing of glasses was very disappointing , firstly I was overcharged to Reglaze my sunglasses and then overcharged £21 on the final bill by the assistant who I assume is on commission , no apology given either, previous dealings with their Folkestone store have been much much better, in conclusion prices are reasonable but… Read Full Review

“Pay Specsavers extra £32.25 or throw away dilemma”

I fitted 2 for 1 FINEFORM glasses in Specsavers store just one year ago but one of my glasses' screws loosened and lost so I went to the store to fix it. I was asked to sign a form agreeing that they will take professional care but will not be resposible for any damage. I waited for 90 minutes and was appalled by what I found out later. “Service feels as though you are a chicken on a...”

Kirkcaldy branch- when my eyes were tested alarm bells should have rung when tester said "I will just make them slightly stronger than your old ones" After receiving them I found I could not read the large signs in the supermarket unless I was standing near them I am talking about the large ones above the carousels in the lanes Outside I felt cross eyed and kept reverting back to old glasses because my eyes hurt Then a leg fell off! “Would not recommend ”

After having a eye test I was told I need verifocals then having spent £250 on glasses I received them and couldnt see a thing. When taking them back to say my eye sight was worse with them, they then said I needed another test. third time I'd used specsavers - went for eyetest, told my eyes had deteriorated since previous year and I needed new glasses. Looked at prices and decided I should look around for a better deal elsewhere. When I got home I compared my new prescription to last years and...they were identical....my eyes had not deteriorated at all and I did not need new glasses. This sort of dishonesty I can do without! They didn't honour a voucher and have ignored my complaint. They don't care about customers.
