Was buying 2 pairs at the cost of £462. Just don't use Specsavers if you need require varifocals none worked, had them changed 4 times,either the frame was wrong or the cut of the lenses (crucial for varifocals).After a lot of debates asked for refund as I was doing a 22 mile round trip and the visits was lasting one and half hours while they tried to solve the problem. “Varifocals can't see”

Got to have repeat eye test as varifocals are wrong prescription for my eyes. Told by optician my eyes had improved. Told I would get used to new glasses but gave up after less than an hour. Dispenser has said they were wrongly set up and prescription too weak. Took 2 weeks to come now got to have new Taylor Made Lenses in glasses and sunglasses. “Incorrect lenses and rude staff - stay away!!!”

I got a new pair of glasses recently in June. They were okay when I tried them on in the shop but that week once I started using them I would get headaches and everything was blurry. I went back to specsavers and they said my prescription had changed! I don't think so the optician I saw said that was impossible so there must of been a mistake but specsavers still made me pay again to have them reglazed! “Terrible with varifocals”

Just don't use Specsavers if you need varifocals, I had three pairs made in 5 months, none worked, either the frame was wrong or the cut of the lenses (crucial for varifocals). Also I learned talking to an independet opticians that they use very cheap lenses with narrow field of vision. From an independent optician I got the top of the range (Kodak) for less. I visited Specsavers to have an eye test and purchase new glasses. The staff at the branch in Hemel Hempstead are polite, helpful and professional. Booking online is simply and the call back received within 20 minutes of asking for an appointment. I was greeted on entering the store and the same member of staff dealt with my booking and initial tests. He was happy to explain each aspect of the tests and knowledgable too. Nipped into Hucknall branch for an eye test as I hadn't had one for 3yrs.i was fully tested and was told my old glasses were ok for reading and didn't need new ones but was advised could tweak lenses and make new ones sharper still. I have just had new glasses from the Worksop branch of Specsavers. I am delighted with them! Every stage was made easier by the kind and professional staff at this branch. The girl who helped me choose the frame, the Optician, the members of staff that checked the fit of both frame and lenses before and after they were completed. I've been getting my contact lenses for 14 years from specs savers and not had any problems what so ever I get a free contacts lens check every 6 months and free eye test every 2 years (one of the plus sides of staying in scotland)and as I'm a regular I also got free glasses Ok they do try to get you to get glasses but if you don't want to get glasses either say no or you'll think about it at your next eye test Once I thought I lost a contact lens at the back of my eye on holiday in England I… Read Full Review

I took my son to specsavers for his first eye test - the words never again spring to mind - such a shambles - three weeks later he still hasn't got his glasses! After waiting ten days for an appointment, we went in plenty of time but still hadn't been taken an hour after the appoinment time - whilst we were waiting it looked to me as though the staff were doing a great deal of running around - I am sure they knew what they were doing but the number of staff in a very small branch of specsavers… Read Full Review

do go careful when you order varifocals from specsavers,i had some from my local shop fareham that were wrong i told them this only to be told i was wrong.refund given. i then after weeks of no glasses went to gosport specsavers 283.00 later wrong lens again, another refund after talking to manager a couple days later was told they used a different lens that gave me less side vision, so why pay more for the varifocals was then told they could be redone in older sort of lens i had in very first… Read Full Review

I was called in for an eye test and told that my prescription had changed and I would need new varifocals. Although they have frames at the budget end, i was taken straight to the expensive designer frames. I had told them I was unemployed. Have used Specsavers for many years but will not be returning there. My most recent visit entailed a half hour wait, followed by being told I needed a new lens prescription. Having been tricked into buying 2 for 1, this is not a good buy as the "extras" are not included in deal. My new glasses are already tarnishing on the arms and bridge piece and there is no discernible improvement in the lenses - a fairly poor experience all round. “Why can't I phone the shop?”

I have been a customer of Specsavers in Diss Norfolk for a few years and the staff and service from there has always been good, but why on earth can't I call the shop direct? I am yet again sitting by the phone waiting for them to call me as I have to go through a call centre who tells me the line is engaged, the shop can call me back but of course they don't know when.
