I've been getting my contact lenses for 14 years from specs savers and not had any problems what so ever I get a free contacts lens check every 6 months and free eye test every 2 years (one of the plus sides of staying in scotland)and as I'm a regular I also got free glasses Ok they do try to get you to get glasses but if you don't want to get glasses either say no or you'll think about it at your next eye test Once I thought I lost a contact lens at the back of my eye on holiday in England I… Read Full Review

“Most awful experience ”

I took my son to specsavers for his first eye test - the words never again spring to mind - such a shambles - three weeks later he still hasn't got his glasses! After waiting ten days for an appointment, we went in plenty of time but still hadn't been taken an hour after the appoinment time - whilst we were waiting it looked to me as though the staff were doing a great deal of running around - I am sure they knew what they were doing but the number of staff in a very small branch of specsavers… Read Full Review

do go careful when you order varifocals from specsavers,i had some from my local shop fareham that were wrong i told them this only to be told i was wrong.refund given. i then after weeks of no glasses went to gosport specsavers 283.00 later wrong lens again, another refund after talking to manager a couple days later was told they used a different lens that gave me less side vision, so why pay more for the varifocals was then told they could be redone in older sort of lens i had in very first… Read Full Review

“£360 on new spectacles which are worse than the old pair”

I was called in for an eye test and told that my prescription had changed and I would need new varifocals. Although they have frames at the budget end, i was taken straight to the expensive designer frames. I had told them I was unemployed. Epping store very poor. 1st pair received gap between lenses and frame, 2nd pair store broke whilst collecting, 3rd pair sent with frames scratched, 4 pair still waiting. “poor quality glasses”

Have used Specsavers for many years but will not be returning there. My most recent visit entailed a half hour wait, followed by being told I needed a new lens prescription. Having been tricked into buying 2 for 1, this is not a good buy as the "extras" are not included in deal. My new glasses are already tarnishing on the arms and bridge piece and there is no discernible improvement in the lenses - a fairly poor experience all round. “Why can't I phone the shop?”

I have been a customer of Specsavers in Diss Norfolk for a few years and the staff and service from there has always been good, but why on earth can't I call the shop direct? I am yet again sitting by the phone waiting for them to call me as I have to go through a call centre who tells me the line is engaged, the shop can call me back but of course they don't know when. had problem with left eye, told to have new lens fitted,paid £70 when i got it back, was still the same, when i went into shop told they had put a differant varifocal lens in they said they would recheck my eyes, they then told me they could not improve my left eye, they would refit my old lens for me , they are nothing but money grabbers, have booked to see a proper optician, shall never use specsavers again… Read Full Review

“Unable to provide spectacles that could be used ”

Specsavers of Portsmouth tested my eyes three times in an attempt to resolve the problems I was having. Having chosen their top of the range varifocals it was impossible to use them. “Really uncomfortable”

I went for contact lenses test.Got to try them for a week, told the ophthalmologist that one eye was fine but I could feel there was a contact lens in the other told me it would stop a few minutes later.l went ahead and made the purchase.As I only use it sporadically took me a while to find out it doesn't get better after a few minutes but worse.My eye feels really gritty and got worse as the day progressed . I applied for the voucher from Camden as i am a Camden employee. i booked an appointment at the camden branch of Specsavers as instructed. i arrived on 28th May to have the test this went well.
