I had brought in my own frames to have the lenses put in. I went to the outlet at Barking. During collection, upon inspecting the condition of my glasses, I noticed some scratches on my frames. As they were the part of my frames that were facing me, I didn't want to make a huge fuss about it, I just wanted to find out if it happened when the lenses were being put in. Reading Specsavers always gives me excellent service for my problematic eyes. The staff are evidently well-trained, visibly work hard and have a positive attitude. I bought reading glasses Feb 2014, supposedly titanium, bendy unbreakable, nose bridge was poor quality, not titanium, they snapped after 5 months. They replaced like for like and again nose bridge has snapped. I've been to a number of companies over the years, trying to sort out my eyesight. If I drive with my long sight glasses on then I can't see my car speedo, if I want to see my speed I have to lift my glasses and then can't see in distance. All the companies I have been to all gave me two sets of glasses, one for near one for far which is near to useless when driving. Careless staff with a rude attitude. On my last visit to Specsavers, one of the staff member held me few minutes at his desk without saying a single word to me for few minutes! I purchased two pairs of glasses from my local Specsavers store and received them within a week. All was good at first but had to return on two occasions to have them adjusted because they kept slipping off. After a few weeks the lenses became very scratched, even though they had the so called anti scratch coating and I was very careful how I put them down etc. After 4 months the frames completely snapped in half across the bridge of the nose bar on one pair and the other pair are unwearable… Read Full Review

Bought spectacles in December 2013 from Specsavers and paid over £200 after over 60s discount. Approximately 14 months later a leg came off whilst I was cleaning the specatcles and frame. Visited Stonehaven store. Told outwith guarantee. A leg from a different model was fitted. Spectacles look odd and don't fit correctly. Told I would have to purchase new pair including lenses. I felt I was '' not important '' . The tester called my name, preceded me into his room, sat down, casually told me to sit down, to shut the door, put my things on chair and sit on the other one. Hi, I did an eye test at two places in a short time frame. I got much more information on the "health" of my eye in addition to my vision from Optical Express as compared to SpecsSavers. Even though SpecsSaver were kind and friendly, it felt a rather hurried affair with little attention to detail (duty of care).
